I normally use the Midlothian location but a few weeks back I went to the Waxahachie store. I noticed that the drive thru was serviced quicker, so I ordered the two piece fish combo and two piece chicken combo. I was told that the fish would take seven minutes to cook and after I paid, was told to pull up to the front and they would bring it out when ready. After ten minutes I noticed that a bag was placed on the holding counter. After another ten minutes I went in and it was my order. Today I placed the same order and twelve minutes later I was handed my bag. The tartar sauce I asked for was not there when I got home. I will not use this location again. read more

The chicken is really good. That is the only reason I have continued to patronize Chicken Express. Both locations in Waxahachie have failed to get my orders correct the last 6 times I have been in. When I bring it to the attention of the staff, they respond as if it is not an issue and offer no customer recovery at all. No sense of pride in a job well done at all. DISAPPOINTED to say the least! Always saw a line for their drive thru and thought it must be great. I couldn't have been more misled. The chicken was overcooked and dry! This is the first time I can remember taking a bite of something and physically having to spit it back out of my mouth. The offending bite was of the nastiest biscuit I've ever tasted. Ever. Aside from being completely cold and hard, it tasted like it was laced with the cleaning solution someone used to mop the floors with. The mashed potatoes were cold and too old to eat in any enjoyable way, so I opted out of everything but the chicken itself. The chicken was edible. Not great but I've had worse. Overall, this was the worst meal I've had in a long time. The only worse chicken express experience I've ever had was several years ago and it involved someone's hair in my combo meal. I stopped in ordered catfish in the drive through. They told me it's a 10-15 minute wait. I pulled around front. The manager came out a few minutes later and informed me they had a problem with the fryer, and had to start over on my order. He was super nice, professional and very apologetic. About as good of chicken strips as you can find in Waxahachie... on par with Chick-Fil-A strips... which are awesome too, just different in texture.... Just paid 55.21 for the 40 pace mega meal, chicken tender deal. The driver arrived and we were shorted our gallon of tea. When I called (after my wife called with no results), I was told I didn't order it properly. I told her there was one way to order it, as advertised. She told me you could order with or without. Rather than giving me my gallon of tea as advertised, she just felt standing her ground was the way to handle the situation. You clearly advertise a gallon of tea, this really makes me angry. Only to arrive at the end of your order not repeating any of it to you and getting it wrong at least half the time. Worst experience in fast food. The food itself is okay but this service is awful. I went through the drive thru. I wanted catfish, but only if they had any ready. I know from past experience that if you order catfish and have to fry it you are in for a 10 or 15 minute wait. I was assured that they had catfish ready to serve. Granted they were busy but they are busy everyday at that time so you would think they would be prepared for their rush hour...but nooooo.... I placed my order and it took 10 minutes to get to window to pay. They took my money and told me I would have to pull forward. After waiting for 20 minutes in my vehicle I got out of my car and went inside. It looked like the keystone cops in there. Lots of teenage girls with no apparent supervision. I had to tell them what my order was because they apparently lost track of it. After about 5 more minutes they gave me my order and I returned to my car. I checked the order and was short one piece of catfish. I went back inside and told them I had been shorted. They said they were out of catfish and I would have to wait for them to fry some more. I told them to just give me some chicken instead. This place is run like a ship without a rudder. The moral to the story is never order catfish...that is just asking too much.
