Everything is super yummy and has a really good seasoning on it. That's very tasty. The service is very quick and easy. You can never go wrong with Chicken Joe's. I feel like this place is a staple for anyone who went to high school in New Rochelle or to Iona for college. The nuggets are always really good and a nice size. I used to get the baby or high school specials, which are great choices. But lately I've been getting the grab bag and ordering additional small sides of corn fritters and fried mushrooms. I love the grab bag because you get a little bit of everything. When your order is completed, they ask you if you want them to put seasoning salt on your order, which you can watch them do and tell them when to stop. Highly recommend side of Cones (picture creamy mashed potatoes deep fried with a salty crispy coating- think potato croquette). Honey mustard dipping sauce is a solid choice to pair with. When I was younger I was skeptical of their special seasoning, but I've converted and suggest you get it added to the chicken and side. They toss it in the bag altogether. Little take-out spot familiar to the college and high school kids attending school nearby and in need of a quick, filling snack. My boyfriend and I were in the area and just had to stop by, even though we were on our way to eat somewhere else. We saved it for later on that day and it didn't disappoint, even at room temperature. Ordered the baby special with cones and the high school special with fries. The cones were so nice and buttery, I'll have to get a bag of them on their own next time. I'll also have to try their wraps, reminiscent of the "fat sandwiches" I have in Jersey. I have been ordering from chicken joes every since high school which was next door. It's a very popular spot especially for high school students and even after a lot of people go back because the food is so addicting! I always order the high school special which is fried chicken nuggets or bits with French fries. Sounds simple but the seasoning they put in it is the best part and it's so cheap and very very good. The high school special comes with a drink all for about 6 dollars. I also order the baby which is the smaller version of the high school special and it doesn't come with a drink. The food is nice and crispy and doesn't feel too greasy at all which is perfect. The staff is very friendly and has the order done superrrrr fast! Plus Plus Plus! Just the last visit it was a little hectic because there was a huge order being made so there was slight attitude from a particular worker but all the other times I've been to chicken joes the service was excellent so I won't let this time influence anything. There is limited street parking it's hard to find a spot but you can get lucky! Do not park in mcdonalds because you may get a ticket. Just an FYI. Will definitely be back! read more

It was dangerous living and attending college down the street from Chicken Joes. Those potato cones? That seasoning? Honestly, someone help my arteries. The damage cannot be undone, but it's always worth it. The best orders are a High School Special- 1/2 lb nuggets w/ fries & 1 can of soda for $6 or Slick Rick Special- 1/2 lb nuggets w/ cones & 1 can of soda for $8. Just get some combination of chicken and cones. You can get nuggets in 1/4lb, 3/4lb, or 1lb as well. Always ask for extra seasoning. I don't know its ingredients, but it's magical. You can also get breakfast, wraps, hot and cold sandwiches, etc. Try not to come here around 2:00-4:00 when kids are getting out of school at the High School across the street because it's pure mayhem. read more

Their menu has changed (primarily their prices). This place used to be cheap. I'm talking - you could eat and get a drink for 4 or 5 bucks. Not anymore. You'll have to spend $8, at least. Ok. I got suckered in by the many positive reviews of this place, but unless you are a hungry teenager/college student and need something in a hurry then you probably won't mind this place. Otherwise, you will not be able to consume the saltiness of the food here. And it's weird salty, like random spikes of saltiness throughout the food. Example; one nugget won't be as salty as the last one. Or you bite one half of a cone which will be fine, then the next half will be salty as heck! Since I have a few family members who go to Iona, I've become well acquainted with the food in the area, and this ranks as my top choice. First of all, the guys in the kitchen are great--I was always entertained by them cracking jokes on the regular customers, and the customers giving it right back. Then, leaving the store with a bag full of french fries, chicken nuggets, and delicious spice, I could hardly wait to dive in and start eating.
