Stopped in today for lunch. Hubby has been itching to come here since LS&B left for Van Aken. The prices are good, nothing outrageous. We opted for a Crispy Chicken, a Korean Chicken Sammy and large fry. The portion sizes are humugous all the way around. Since they cook to order the sandwiches, we waited about 15 minutes or so for our yummy goodness. Don't bite in immediately or you will regret it!! The Korean Sammy was mess-y! But don't fret, my husband ate it with a quickness. Like someone who hadn't eaten in days! The sauce was delicious! Perfect sauce for the slaw but super drippy. He ate the last half of the sandwich with a fork and knife. My crispy chicken was much more than I had bargained for today. Picking bits off of it before taking a full bite I thought the breading was pretty salty but not enough to deter me from eating more. It could have used extra sauce and slaw to cut the salt. Or less salt in the breading. The large fry was an ample amount for 2 (or 3) ppl. Slightly salty for my taste but again , not enough to deter me from eating them. We ended up bringing almost all of mine home and half of the fries. Another meal for midnight perhaps. There are many other items I want to try so we'll be back. Soon! read more

I made my inaugural visit to the Chicken Ranch one balmy afternoon in July. There was a cool breeze in the air, and a warm feeling in my soul. Despite the rich summer swelter, I desired something hearty. Something familiar. Something scrumptious. And then, I heard it. Drawn by the aroma, I floated inside to a charming cafe with ample seating and a plethora of beverage options lining the walls. At the end of my trek there appeared a tan, raven-haired Latin goddess who quipped a sly greeting and guided me through the menu like a private tutor preparing her charge for the SATs. But oh, the variety! Grilled chicken, fried chicken, Tiger shrimp, mahi mahi--something called "kale"! Cornbread, mac and cheese, handmade slaw, crinkle cut fries, Kimchi! And then there are "The Fifteen." Sauces of all colors and heats ready to dress the cuisine like an award-winning tailor. Could anything be as inspiring? I defied my fowl friends and went for the mahi mahi Po Boy (#ThisIsCLE). Instantly, mine eyes caught those of the chefs from the window to the kitchen, and I received a wise wink and knowing nod. I'd chosen well. They took to their task with an unbridled enthusiasm, and I found a seat in the dining room to enjoy a Coke and watch a classic film on the TV above. I didn't have long though. My order came out in a flash, and before I knew it I was uvula deep in a fish so juicy you'd think it was still swimming around the Pacific. The chili dust flavor, the added sauces--it was a heavenly delight that satisfies my taste buds still days later as I craft this morsel of my life's meal memoir. Stuffed, I raised my napkin as a white flag, surrendering to the flavor forevermore. And while some may call me mad for obsessing over a small fried chicken joint in this Melting Pot of Poultry this great country of ours boasts, well my friends, consider that you've been marching in Colonel Sanders' army for far too long. Tried out Chicken Ranch yesterday and was pleased for the most part. I had an issue but as soon as I brought it to the stores attention they rectified it without haste. That is definitely what is driving the favorable review! It could have went all bad but great customer service beats out a bad review. I ordered the Nashville Hot, fries and the Mac n cheese. The sandwich was HUGE and I like to eat so that's saying a lot. I do not like crinkle cut fries but theirs were exceptionally crispy. The Mac n cheese wasn't bad but not my cup of tea. To relate it to something common I would say it's not as good as Chic Fil A but a different taste too so I wouldn't pass on it if you just want some. I'm in a sucker for fried chicken and decided to give this place a try even though I ate at a chain chicken place the night before. After trying the Korean Fried Chicken (KFC) sandwich, I wish I could've eaten here twice instead! The sandwich came out hot and shatteringly crispy. This is everything breaded and fried chicken should be. It was craggy and had really solid seasoning. The chicken itself was moist and cooked to just the right doneness. Overall I enjoyed the fixings that made it a KFC sandwich. The candied jalapeños made it. A bit more flavor could've been packed in the sweet chili sauce and slaw imho, but I can see how the levels they went with give it broad appeal. I snagged a bite of the mac and cheese and really liked the blend of cheeses they chose. The jalapeño cornbread was nice and moist as well. Recently was looking for a place to grab lunch and saw this place pop up on the map. Some friends and I decided to try it. When you walk in, it's clean and has a nice vibe to it. 3 out of 4 of us got the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and one got the Korean chicken sandwich. All the food was amazing. The quality of the chicken really stood out to me. Sometimes you go get chicken and it's thin or dry or chewy. This was a large serving and it was juicy and delicious. Arguable the best fried chicken in the area. The chicken is delicious, and perfectly fried with flakey crisps. The sauces are phenomenal as well. If you like kick, I'd recommend the Florida jerk sauce. Crinkle cut fries are also great. The portions are fantastic too as far as fried chicken goes. I was greeted by Chef Demetrios when I went in to pick up my order and not only is he a phenomenal chef, but he could not have been friendlier. Solid place for fried chicken! Food was ready earlier than their estimate so I'd show up early if you want everything as fresh as possible. That said, our 3-piece chicken tenders, chicken and waffle, and Cleveland Hot Sandwich were still crispy even after sitting in the restaurant and the 15 min drive home! The chicken was well-seasoned and not greasy at all although some of the pieces were a smidge dry like they had been fried just 2-3 minutes past their prime, still good but not great. The waffle may not be for everyone as it's very sweet, not only is the batter sweet but it's paired with their honey butter which was just a little too much for me. The best part of the meal was definitely the Cleveland Hot sandwich because the slaw adds great texture while the tanginess of the Cleveland Hot sauce is balanced by the creaminess of the guajillo mayo. It's a very well balanced sandwich and the brioche bun is delightful. As for sides, I'd strongly recommend their mac n cheese. It's deliciously creamy and they use cavatappi noodles which are the superior form of macaroni. The jalapeño cake was a decent cornbread, not amazing but not bad. As for their sauces: Black Garlic Toum - Great choice as it's rich, creamy, and savory like an aioli although a whole meal with it might feel heavy Cleveland Hot - Great mix up from their other sauces as it has decent heat and good amount of acid/tang that brightens up the fried chicken Nashville Hot - Enjoyable for its moderate heat but somewhat flat on flavor Dragon Fire Honey Butter - Sweet as expected with a whipped consistency. Minimal heat or tongue-tingling "mala" from the Sichuan peppercorns. Too sweet to be the only sauce you get. Overall we enjoyed the meal! I appreciate their use of Hispanic and Asian flavors but think the sweet things we got were just overly sweet. The more savory items we got were very enjoyable however so we'll order accordingly next time, and there definitely will be a next time :) read more

The kale and slaw were a nice contrast to the chicken. The chicken is prepared hot and crispy, moist on the inside. So delicious. Tons of flavor with the shrimp PO boy and was quite tasty, however the blackened fish PO boy was preferred from our last visit. The corn cakes were good, but we preferred the fries and cauliflower from out last trip as well. This is a must hit spot for those looking for some quality Nashville hot chicken. Undercooked and extremely salty! Literally get high blood pressure off of one bite. Disappointing because the crust was perfectly crunchy. The chicken tenders were tough as wood. They clearly do not remove the tendon. Unable to chew it. Threw it in the trash didn't even go back to let them correct it because it was packed and I picked my order up a few minutes before closing. So for that I can't speak on what they would have done to correct it. Customer service was great when I walked in. Just had my second order from here.....meh. Out of two orders to sample different things on the menu I haven't been impressed by anything. Had the blackened mahi sandwich, and it was overcooked and dry. Had the burger sliders, they were basic. Had the Nashville chicken sandwich, it was a basic chicken sandwich with pickles and hotsauce. Had the baby back ribs, the sauce was overly rich and kind of gritty. Oh and the cornbread that came with it was gross. Not trying to be rude, just being honest.
