I agree with those who said some people may have caught this restaurant on a bad day but I thought they were delicious the lomo was fantastic. The meat melted in your mouth. The macaroni and cheese was the best I have tasted in awhile. The black beans were perfect and I'm Cuban so I know what good black beans should taste like. Chicken Rico Leesburg I CANNOT RECOMMEND NOR will I return to your restaurant. I once highly recommended this specific restaurant to anyone in Leesburg that asked about Peruvian food but today changed my opinion. I ordered to-go and when I opened the box at work I found that I have 1-2 day OLD CHICKEN!! The CHICKEN is HARD and GRAY!!! My disappointment and anger is at the top of the chart!! We decided to give this place a try, as we like the local Peruvian rotisserie chicken places near our work in Herndon...we found the typical fare you would find in any other place. We ordered the family special #2. Delicious rub on the chicken, the dipping sauces were tasty, all of the sides were good (we got black beans, veggies, red potatoes, and fried rice). I am in here almost everyday I order pretty much the same thing 1/2 chicken white meat, Mac N Cheese, and Plantains, They have such an amazing menu with so many good choices on it and every time I go in I say "ok todays the day I'm going to try something else!" Then sure enough I get to the counter and I just can't help myself LOL. The Mac & Cheese Oh man oh man; Now I'm a major cook and let me tell you about my Mac n Fondue, I start out cooking my Mac in buttered water with salt, i drain that into a bowl and use the same pot melt some butter add smoked paprika, salt, pickled hot peppers, then I add some milk, two cans of tuna, and a ton of cheese, I let the cheese melt and mix with the stuff, then to make it more saucey I add a good amount of white wine, finally adding the noodles... Let me tell you I have ruined ABSOLUTELY ruin Mac n Cheese at any place for me, EXCEPT Chicken Rico! Chicken Rico's Mac n Cheese is like the sweet side of my extra salty spicy side for Mac n Cheese Its out of this world and I can't seem to get enough of it especially to order anything else off the menu (LOL I want to so bad. Someday I'll branch out.) Now for the chicken; I'll tell you what When I first had/made my own Coq Au Vin with Red wine Braised Onions on the side; I thought there would never be another chicken I'd ever eat or love as much Coq Au Vin is still at my number one spot for favorite chicken. However Chicken Rico has now made it the impossible choice so my number 1 favorite chicken is majorly tied between the two. Though Chicken Rico depending on the time you go in goes from the best to even better, If you manage to get in around dinner or lunch time right when they are pulling the chickens out and get a fresh one, oh man talk about your mouth watering chicken experience. The skin is really crispy(without even being fried you'd think it was though) and the chicken is so moist and juicy it falls right off the bone (argh is anyone reading this having their mouth water too i'm drooling on my keyboard...) Its such good chicken.... Last time I stopped in I still got my same order but I also picked up a chicken Quesadilla on the side: I didn't eat it fresh, in fact It wound up sitting on my desk till the next morning... Man I wish I had though because that mess was good... The thing is its really hard to find good Quesadilla, it wouldnt seem like a hard thing to make really good but it really is... The fact Chicken Rico's was still so good cold after having sat out all night... I really gotta try one fresh! (However anyone reading this part don't go based off of this as its an unfair review of their Quesadilla; even though I am praising it I didnt get to try it fresh and I'm sure its night and day.) However my Gf loved their beef Quesadilla and she has had them fresh more then once Lol. She kept nagging me because she was getting really sick of coming here (I'm not kidding when I say almost everyday.) I kept telling her you should try something else off the menu. Now she has and her desire to keep going has gone all the way back up (shes still sick of chicken though LOL.) We both love this place though. Now for the Staff and Service; These guys are awesome!!!! I can't stress that enough LOL! I can be a bit much ^current review a prime example of that) I never shut up, and tend to be very socially awkward, and don't really recognize when I am over sharing. I think at this point a good portion of the staff now knows my entire medical History... LOL They are so nice though and actually when not too busy listen, enough so I walk in they'll ask me how my most recent doctor visit was and even know exactly what it was and what for Lol. I personally think this place has some of the best service in the local area, and they certainly have the love and care for it. You can taste that in their food. Outrageously good. We've been on a Pollo kick for the past year, trying out different places in the area. Imagine our surprise when, after moving out to Leesburg, finding the second best joint we've been to right next door. The chicken - fantastic. But what really is note worthy is the plantains and yucca. Some places, even the ones with perfect chicken, fall flat with dry plantains and overly fried yucca. Not here. Great chicken, perfect sides. It's rare when we get a whole chicken and sides and not have any leftovers. This place though, no chance! read more

This restaurant has a very poor service and they are cheating customers. They put me food in the box for carry out, but when I opened the box at home to eat, I found the box was almost empty only four pieces of fries and a small piece of chicken. When I called them the manager did not even apologize as if it was his routine practice to cheat customers. read more

We were looking for a new Peruvian chicken take-out place since Roxy's in Leesburg closed its doors. This place didn't disappoint! The chicken was incredibly fresh & seasoned to perfection. The green sauce (my favorite) has just the right amount of spice. Next time we order (probably in a few days) we'll order our favorite sides too. If the sides & other choices on their menu are as good as the chicken we'll be ordering weekly. My husband went to pick up our food & sent me a text saying, "this place not only smells amazing, but it's very clean." I tried this place for the first time today and ordered the Lomo Saltado. My wife ordered the Bisteck a lo pobre. We both really enjoyed our meals. The meat was well seasoned. The potatoes (fries) were well cooked. The vegetables were grilled well. The plantains had a very good caramelization with tangy flavor. And these folks know how to cook flavorful rice! Just a delicious meal, and a tremendous amount of it. We left feeling quite full and satisfied and will definitely come back! read more

This is always a good choice for healthy, roasted Peruvian-style chicken. Some of the sides are good too, such as the yucca frita. If you like a kick to your chicken, always ask for extra green sauce for a spicy hot addition to the chicken. This is our go-to chicken place! read more

Yummy! This place was awesome. I got carne asada, and my husband got something similar with sunny side up eggs on it. He thought the steak was dry but I feel like it was exactly what thin steak cooked over flames should taste like. Regardless, it was full of flavor. All the sides were delicious. Plaintains, fried yucca, and rice. And the green and yellow sauces were so good! I've gotta go back to try the rotisserie chicken which is what they seem to specialize in. Delicious. Seriously, you have to try this place. You've never had chicken so flavorful and moist. The sauce they give you is like eating the food of the gods.
