We came here for Mother's Day since they were the only Peruvian restaurant taking walk ins only. We got there around 11:30am and were seated right away. It was perfect timing since 20 minutes later, the place got super packed. The food is so pretty delicious. I've been on a mission to find authentic Peruvian food some we are new to this side of the Country. This restaurant has food that tastes just as good as going to Peru. This place was so close in taste! My husband loved the ceviche. The lomo saltado was delicious. The jalea was also pretty good. Their arroz chaufa was so flavorful. The place is on the smaller side but even full, it doesn't feel claustrophobic. The service could improve. It was a busy day for them and they did their best but wish they would help each other out more. We would ask a different employee for something and they would tell us to ask our server, she was busy and I don't get why the ones standing there not busy couldn't help. We've ordered from this restaurant twice now, both times as takeout, and unfortunately our experience has been a bit inconsistent. This time I ordered the tallarines verdes with steak, and my husband had the tallarines a la huancaína with lomo saltado. The portions were very generous, and the flavor of both pasta dishes was good! That said, my biggest disappointment was the steak that came with the tallarines verdes. For a $25 entrée, the piece of meat was extremely fatty to the point that a large portion of it was inedible. I was honestly surprised that a cut like this made it out of the kitchen. The pasta itself was excellent, but the quality of the meat really took away from the meal. During our first takeout order, our yuca was missing entirely. Since both issues were discovered after we got home, we didn't reach out, but having problems with both of our orders has made us hesitant to return. This restaurant clearly has potential the portions are generous and the flavors are very good but consistency and attention to detail need improvement. Better quality control before orders leave the kitchen would make a big difference. read more

Should go with 3 stars but I know new and just getting going. Issues: Gnats View of back wall and large trash can as going into kitchen, wall has red stains on it, ugly. Main food item, they were out of, let us know early, roast chicken Goodness: service, very nice, knowledgeable, friendly Food was amazing, I had a chicken dish with rice, very nicely prepared Tres Leches cake was also great but served in a cup from fridge? The owners are extremely hospitable and personable! My friend and I wandered in around 8pm post a cycle class next door, we were hungry and had our curiousity piqued by the new business and metallic sign. Upon walking in, it's clear the owners put their whole heart and soul into this business. Beautiful and thoughtful decor by the bar, plenty of seating, and an expansive menu. We started with a passion fruit juice! Very yummy. Then after asking the owner a few questions I decided to order the wings encebollados and the chaufa special. The wings were fried to crispy perfection, with a thin crunch outside and a juicy inside! The sauce on top was a marinade used for the ceviche (sans fish of course). The sauce was tart, flavorful and creamy. We could have licked the plate clean honestly. Came with fries! I asked for the house hot sauce, a nice orange hue and had a generous KICK. The chaufa platter was HUGE! Easily could feed at least 2. I took half of it home and still enjoyed it later. The special was a fried rice with chicken with a lot of Chinese influence. A delicious sauce underneath too! The special also had tallarines, like a very thin lo mein of the same chicken as the rice. All in all, I spent under $50 without tip and ate plenty yummy culturally authentic food! I left full and with a heavy to go container. My friend ordered a soup that came out boiling hot and with a fried egg on top! She enjoyed it a lot. Highly recommend this restaurant! Food was good, we consider that the portions are kind of small compared to other perivian restotants we have been. We tried the ceviche that was just perfect! And the jalea acevichada that was really good and fresh. After that we order more food cos we still hungry, we ordered anticuchos and papa a la huancana those were tasty. The service was ok. We went here with friends for dinner last night. The first red flag was that the restaurant was almost empty on a soccer game night, but we decided to give it a chance because the Google and Yelp reviews were so positive. Unfortunately, it was a total disappointment. Every dish we ordered was below average--bland, poorly executed, and definitely not worth the premium prices. I had so been looking forward to Machu Pichu Restobar ("MPR") opening because I love Peruvian food and so do my kids, but my wife will only eat roast chicken (Pollo ala brasa), and, according to their website, MPR has what sounds like great Peruvian dishes and pollo ala brasa, so I was happy when we finally had some free time to try it. Well, we walked in to a very crowded restaurant, which I was happy about, because this means the food must be good, so I grew more excited. We were seated right away and given menus, and I told my wife to just order a quarter chicken and pick her sides, and she said I don't see it on the menu, so I looked, and looked, and looked again and no, it wasn't there. I asked the server "Do you have pollo ala brasa?" and she simply said "No". Then I asked "Will you ever have it" and she said "No". No explanation that it was on the menu or anything, and now that I read in other reviews that they came for the chicken as well, I wonder why the website has not been changed? It makes no sense. To the owners of this restaurant: You have to know that most American people who come to your restaurant, are more than likely coming for the pollo ala brasa, so you need to either get it off your website menu or add it to your menu, because there are some other excellent restaurants that offer both Peruvian dishes and the chicken, such as Pollos Inti. My wife was very unhappy and she took it out on me because she thought I was lying about the chicken and was just tricking her into going to this place, but I showed her the website and asked her if she just wanted to leave, but she felt bad doing that so we stayed. I ordered pollo saltado, which is my usual dish at a Peruvian restaurant, and MPR's was very good- it was flavorful and the chicken was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the chaufa mixto (think combination fried rice) and it was also good. I talked my wife into trying the chicken milenesa and she liked it, probably not enough to come back, though, so it looks like if I come back, it will be by myself. One last negative: There are bugs flying all around the restaurant, gnats it looks like, and if you're a new restaurant and you already have this problem, I don't think I want to come back in the summer time, that's for sure. I hope they get this issue fixed. Overall, the food is good, just as good as any other Peruvian restaurant and it seems like they're drawing a good crowd, but I feel like if you do not add the pollo ala brasa, you're not going to get too much more business. The servers were all very nice and the owner came by to check on us, and I appreciated that. I wish MPR well, and I hope to be back someday soon. read more

This was our first time at the restaurant and we were seeking authentic Peruvian cuisine, traditional style and were not disappointed. The ceviche de pescado was delicious, the antiquchos were perfectly seasoned and cooked, the causa tasty. We ordered pisco sours which were well prepared and our main courses were all tasty, the Arroz Choufa was especially good. The portion sizes are extremely generous but it means next time we will either just order many items from the appetizers or just the main dinner. To end we shared Tres Leches cake and the dessert winner the Suspiro Limeno. We will certainly go back again. read more

Service was pretty bad - we didn't get any drink refills during our stay and she barely stopped by to check on us for us to even ask. I also ordered a soda but never received it. It took forever to place our order because the waitress was M.I.A. even though it wasn't busy and there were other waitstaff. The food came out lukewarm.
