Had dinner here while in town and it was really good. I was staying in the area and La Perla was within short walking distance. Greeted walking in and seated in the same minute. The place is festive and bright inside, an impressive menu with lots of options. After giving it a once over, started with a Michelada and a bean and cheese quesadilla, it was a really good start. La Perla is known for its seafood, so I went for the Branzino, whole fish head on. The fish was so tender and flaky, just delicious. The restaurant is on a quiet street near historic downtown Leesburg. I came in around 4PM for a really late lunch (or you could say very early dinner). There were no other customers in the restaurant at the time. I was greeted immediately when I came in. The staff were friendly and quick. The music they were playing wasn't too loud, and the dining area looked clean. They weren't particularly busy when I came in, but they did have a couple of order pick-ups. There were also a couple families that came in when I finished eating and was getting ready to leave. I was served complementary chips and salsa to start off with while I looked through the menu. They have extensive list of options from starters to desserts and drinks. I ordered the chicken fajitas that came with the usual sides. It tasted okay. I loved the tortillas, though! The tortillas were tasty. When you order drinks, I think you have to verify whether you want a fountain drink, bottled or canned. I'm not really sure if they offer fountain soda drinks. I ordered a coke from the menu that said it was $1.69, but a bottle of Mexican coke was brought out and it was rung up as $2.69. A little bit of a surprise, but I love Mexican Coke so I'm not really upset. They have a fairly priced menu with standard portions. Not as tasty as I thought the food would be, but it wasn't bad. I had a fairly pleasant experience with the staff. I may return to try again and see if my palate takes to the food! read more

Food was very good but it took a while to get to the table. No one was in the restaurant seated for dinner, so I was surprised to wait that long However, that said, the meal - Saltado Mixta was very good and more than enough to feed 2 or 3 people. I had plenty of left over to take home. Two problems I have with this restaurant is that there is no option for a drink that doesn't contain sugar, not even unsweet tea. You have to order sparkling water to have something to drink with your meal. With a full double sized cooler of drink options, they can't stock a non-sugar drink! Diabetics, watch out here. The have diet Pepsi on the menu but don't really have it. Come to think of it, the last visit, 6+months ago, they didn't have it then either. My server brought chips and didn't return until the meal was finally ready and then didn't return. I was seated in a quiet section in the back, but was shivering from the extreme cold air blowing down and chose not to finish my meal because the temperature was that cold. Since my server never came back to check on me, nor my drink nor my meal, I went to the front to get a to-go box and pay. He said nothing to me as he laid my things on the counter. I can't believe I haven't already reviewed this place because I've been eating here since before the plandemic. Luckily, they are among the few that didn't lose the food quality post-Covid, as so many other restaurants seemed to. There's so many great dishes here! The papusas are good, and the Salvadoran slaw that accompanies them is the best! The slaw has some heat to it, but it's fresh and crisp! They serve excellent thin and crispy tortilla chips, and the salsa also has some heat. My friend who is strictly a "mild" person gets their refried beans to dip. Her 11 month old granddaughter tried the beans and was making "yummy noises" and all the patrons and staff laughed in delight!! I don't even like refried beans from anywhere else! My absolute favorite is the chorizo tacos. It's Mexican street style with the 2 tortillas, meat, lime and cilantro/green onions. I keep searching for an equivalent back home in Florida, but I'm unable to find anything close. I tried the lemonade yesterday. Mmmmmm. It's actually homemade lemon lime and WOW, was it great! Such a beautiful presentation too! I love the boiled tamal de elote with the sweet cream. Mmmm. So good. Their plantains are the best of any place I've ever tried. Cooked to perfection! My friend had the Platos del Patrón yesterday. She said it was delicious! Must've been, bc she cleared that plate! We love to support small businesses so we are always looking for small restaurants. We found La Perla by chance as we were picking something up from Facebook Marketplace. It's off the main road, and in a mostly residential area. The service is wonderful, it feels less like a restaurant and more like eating at a friend's house. The wait staff is very helpful and friendly, and as far as I can tell at least bilingual with Spanish and English. The food is absolutely amazing. I got a steak sandwich and the steak was perfect! Tender and well seasoned, definitely not using sauces or spices to cover up low quality. My daughter, a notoriously picky eater, got a hotdog and fries and said it was amazing. My wife got a quesadilla and it was again perfectly seasoned and delicious! Overall it was an amazing dinner and we will definitely be back for more! read more

This place has authentic Latin comfort food. we stumbled by this place on our way to the outlets and are we glad we did. The prices are very reasonable and the food is delicious. My husband ordered the steak with onions and I ordered the beef tripe soup. My soup was huge, came with rice and tortillas, that I ended up soft bagging. The flavor of the soup was light and not in anyway greasy. The steak with onions was tender and very tasty. Definitely a hidden gem for out of towners. Service was fantastic. Lastly, the customer service at all wasn't great, they never checked on us after dropping the food, we ran out of our drink, it was all a vas experience. Ummm .... This was the Pupusa Loca they gave me to go this evening. Ordered 2 of them and the food took a very long time. When they came out I should've known something was wrong when they handed us one container instead of two. I asked about the second one and they said all they put them in one container for some reason. Of course when I got home I found out why they put them in one container. The first one they burned so they tried to hide it by putting the second one on top instead of making a new one. On top of that, they only provided one of the curtado and sauce that goes on top. Word to the wise, check your To Go food before you leave the place so they don't pull this same "trick" on you!! read more

I had the carne asada tacos and it was delicious; the meat was chewy and cooked well, the tortillas were fresh and warm and the pick de Gallo topped it all off. this was well worth the drive from tysons. The pupusas are super delicious as well! They serve them hot and and it just melts in your mouth. Tipicos is a relatively new pupuseria and Peruvian chicken restaurant on Fort Evans Rd. in Leesburg. We got take out, but it has a clean, nice sized dining room split into two different sections. They seem to offer beer and wine, as well as a number of latin american beverages. The food prices are reasonable - $13.99 for a whole chicken and two large sides. We got rice, beans (expecting pinto beans, but they were refried), and we added an order of french fries. The chicken was delicious and came with the typical green and white sauces; and the sides were good. When I go back I will try the pupusas and tacos de carne asada. Everything looked delicious.
