Situated in the space that used to be a Cuban sandwich store...they just opened Sept 2020 and were quite busy, but fast, at 1pm on a regular wednesday. They have a couple long tables inside where folks can eat in, and a little dessert counter in the back which looked delish. The ladies who work here are just the nicest folks, and you can tell they are proud of the food they are serving up. I picked up some of the juiciest chicken tenders I've ever had, which came with 2 sides, and was more than stuffed afterwards. You get your choice of about a dozen sauce to go on them and they obliged my request to try a different sauce on each piece!! this place is hard to come by! at least it was for me!but absolutely worth the wait and multiple trips! their hours are 1030-3 but they are usually closed by 1, because they sell out so fast! Went there today. The food is fantastic. I had the red beans and rice with chicken tenders corn bread roasted carrots and a side of Mac and cheese. The red beans were excellent. The corn bread was sweet and delicious wasn't dry at all. Them tenders were the best I've have seasons perfectly. I usually need sauce for my tenders but they didn't need it. They were so juicy cooked perfectly not over done at all. The Mac and cheese so good. Last but not least them chimmys ..... OMG the amazing grazing was AMAZING!!!! If you're in the are visiting NOLA, take the short ride outside the city and visit this place! My friends and I went on a Wednesday around lunch time. There was a short wait but the line moved pretty quick and the food was worth it in the end. The menu changes daily (sad we couldn't go back for Fridays menu) but this place doesn't disappoint. The portions- large, value- excellent, and most importantly the food- super good! I ordered the catfish platter with Mac and cheese, cabbage and greens as sides! I wish Yelp had an option for more stars in the event of an emergency. This is one of those times! 5 stars just doesn't cut. I'm in Nola for business and stumbled across this gem thanks to a Yelp collection of Black owned businesses in the city. My husband and I each had the blackened salmon- his with the linguine and corn maque choux, mine with the cream cheese potatoes, green beans, and crawfish hush puppies. I also added the seafood cream sauce which is good enough to drink! We were blown away. The flavors, textures, smells, I mean every single part of the meal was phenomenal! This is by far the best meal I've had in a long time. I'm still trying to figure out the magical green beans. They start out sweet but then a lil kick creeps in. We got there pretty late on a Monday (by about 1:30) and they were almost out of everything, so definitely get there early! We were lucky enough to get a fried chicken plate with sweet peas, corn bread and collard greens. Also got some rice with the leftover braised meat gravy. This food is no joke!!! Okay y'all. I have been wanting to try this place for over a week now after seeing them on Instagram. As I walk in to a small line, nothing unusual per pics from Instagram. They line up about an hour and half prior to opening. That's got to tell you something. I'm hit with the this wonderful aroma. Is that LOVE I smell? Why yes it is. As if trying to figure out which of the days special and sides your going to get wasn't overwhelming enough, they have a dessert booth with a wonderful young lady and her fabulous creations just before the exit. So for my first plate, I went with the stuffed catfish, smothered okra, turkey dressing and potato salad. The second plate is the fried ribs. Did he just say fried ribs? Yes I did. Dirty rice, seafood dressing, and cabbage. I have yet to try them when getting home cause, the wife is still sleeping and I don't want to die. I did have a little bite of each side and they are I incredible! If the sides are this wonderful, you know the main is going to be fire!I did try one rib and that was so money! It was seasoned and fried perfectly. Some will say anything fried is good. No, no, no. Sometimes it can be over seasoned or over fried. This was perfection. These folks know what they are doing and putting in that secret ingredient in, Love. This place is legit. The food is amazing and the staff is extremely nice. While waiting in line, I told the owner and a gentleman, who I believe may be his dad., that I had been craving them for over a week. His dad said I will be back and he isn't lying. Today was my first time. There was a line I read positive reviews about this place awhile back me and my daughters went. The whole set up was beautiful from the food to the desserts. We ordered $75 in food and then $20 on desserts. The food portion was just right. Well worth wait and the drive. The kool-aid was different, but delicious and my sugar and blood pressure readings will be off the charts because of this good eating. Me and my boyfriend shared the cornish hen with turkey dressing, cabbage, and seafood etoufee. We also had a side of fried ribs and all the food was really good. The flavor of the cabbage was unique it had a hint of either cinnamon or nutmeg flavor. It was delicious and the turkey dressing had some different ingredients that I'm not use to seeing ( I'm from Memphis,Tn) but it was still tasty. The fried ribs gave me life, it was season well and fried crispy on the outside and the meat was moist and tender. I can't wait to go back and try something different on the menu.
