I live in North Carolina, and make a point of going out of my way to patronize this restaurant because it's just plain good food, not fast food, not fried food - good, freshly prepared food! All the varieties of chicken salad that I have tasted are delicious. Every family member has a different favorite. At this point, my favorite is the jalapeno, but all are very good. As others have commented, I would like other bread choices when dining in - pita bread, for example, would be great. I don't eat chicken, but most people do. So recently we ordered some chicken salad sandwiches from Chicken Salad Chick for an event. We had a platter or 36 with a side of fruit and pasta salad. Typically they appreciate you giving them 24 hours notice, but if they can accommodate your request, they'll try. I gave them about 12 hours notice and they were able to get the order right on time. I came in at the agreed upon time and everything was ready. They supplied forks, plates, napkins too! I was in and out within 10 minutes. Everyone enjoyed the sandwiches. We had three different chicken salad options. I enjoyed the fruit and pasta salad. Oh and the nice thing, I thought the price for all it was reasonable. It fit perfectly within my budget. Less than $70. I'll check out other things on the menu for future visits. They have a very nice dining area and I'd love to come back to sit and grab a bite. read more

I have seen these restaurants while traveling throughout the southeast but it was never at meal time. I came upon this location just before noon and popped in for some lunch. I was glad I got there before noon because the line formed quickly after that while I was sitting and enjoying my lunch. The chicken salad was delicious and the line of people confirmed that I had made the right choice for lunch. My only negative would be the feminine looking drink cups if you are a man. You just know they make it in massive amounts because fresh chicken should not have that sort of mushy texture. Kickin Kay Lynn chicken salad mostly has the flavor of cheese and bacon but in the most ordinary way. Plus the sandwich is literally just two pieces of bread with 1 piece of lettuce and 1 slice of tomato. My meal also came with a pickle, broccoli salad, and a cookie. Broccoli salad had too much shredded cheese and the sauce was very watery. Cookie was boring. Overall, there was nothing overtly wrong, but this meal cost over $8. This "Chick" or lady hails from Auburn, AL. If you know what we like and we know you do, then you should know that anything Auburn is worth trying. They have a quirky since of humor when it comes to their restrooms, but I'm not giving it away here. Must try it yourself, to find out. Why, it's always better when you don't know ahead of time(as long as it's not harmful). Back to the Chicken Salad. All Natural ingredients, made fresh daily. Wait staff are fast, efficient, courteous, and very responsive. Even offer several times to assist you further after you've seated, not your traditional fast food establishment. They even have colorful table clothes on each table. The pimento cheese is excellent as well. Try the salad and soup as well. Come hungry and leave filled inside or out, always a treat. I was very excited to try the Fancy Nancy - dress it up with Fuji Apples, pecans and seedless grapes and even more delighted to see they offered a trio. It was Ribbon Cutting day and when I arrived to the compact, ridiculous parking lot and the line had at least 50 people in it a full 30 minutes before opening. Knowing I had a wait, I read every option before deciding to throw in the smoky BBQ flavor of the Barbie-Q and cashews instead of pecan for Mimi's Mix. I wont ding them on the crowd because it was the first week and everyone always packs it out but I was semi disappointed in the shredded chicken versus the chopped chicken. I am not giving a bad review for the quality of the food, but for the customer service this time. We came in on a Friday evening around 5:50 pm, still 2 plus hours before closing. They were out of everything, I asked if they made more and I would wait, and they responded "no it's too close to closing." I found something else on the menu as a secondary option and as I was finishing up, a lady walks in and ordered what I ordered that was "out" and they offered to make it for her fresh since they were out. I am not one to complain or send food back but I got up and asked the lady why she had told me they don't make more after they run out and she said "well the manager changed his mind, do you want free food or something?" Today was the third time I've eaten here. The first time I got fancy Nancy and there was an ample amount of grapes and apples. It was a little light on the pecans but it was still enough. Today I went back to fancy Nancy. There was enough apple in it but it only had three grapes and I only know that there were pecans in it because I saw a little nut speck on the plate. They use only white meat chicken, and the scoops are huge and jam packed with meat, so a meal here really isn't that more than a meal at subway would be, considering you get a side and a dessert. I have been meaning to try this place out for some time and today I finally did! I ended up being really hungry after my workout, especially by the time I got home and sat down to eat my "original chick" (a single scoop of your choice of chicken salad-Buffalo Barclay was my choice-plus a side-broccoli salad for me-, a pickle spear, and a cookie-I substituted a slice of key lime pie for the cookie). The meal was just what I needed and filled me up. I must say, the real show stopper here was the key lime pie. I've been craving it recently and when I initially saw how small the wedge was, I was slightly disappointed. However, upon seeing that I had only been charged an additional $1.29 for substituting it for the cookie, I didn't feel too bad about it. On top of that, it ended up being plenty big enough for me! First of all, let me preface by saying that your food is delicious and very refreshing. Since your opening in Augusta, I have been a customer. And, this leads me to my complaint, I understand when a store opens things may be a little chaotic and I noticed that some of the employees didn't have the best customer service skills. So, I brushed it off, well I have been back during lunch and after work and the service from some employees seems poor executed when it comes to getting customers their food and being enthusiastic to serve them. They appear to look sad and not engaging at all. I have discussed this with friends and they say the same as I do...that the food is good, but the service "sucks". I work and train employees in the customer service field and you have to have the right people in place to work with the public. There is no excuse for my food sitting on the back counter with 4 or 5 people out front and I have to walk up and say, will you bag my food for me please.
