Dumplings were freshly made and cooked. You can really tell by the texture and taste. Absolutely not frozen dumplings reheated! Of course, this is what I'd expect from a real kitchen, but sometimes, you never know how some businesses will operate. I love that this is family owned and operated! The seafood soft tofu stew was tasty!

3/5 This is my second time visiting Chaum -- once during their soft opening and once after their official opening. I absolutely love Korean food, so I was really excited to try this place again. Overall, I'm giving it three stars because with a few adjustments, I think this could become a great spot to visit. What I liked: * I really like the self-service concept and the tablets for ordering. * On my second visit, they were quite busy, but the food still came out quickly, which I appreciated. * Pricing is fair for a Korean restaurant. * The décor and atmosphere are very relaxing, making it a nice place to spend time. What could improve: * There are only two soup options on the menu (one of them is ramen), and the soup I tried tasted very plain -- more like a basic chicken broth with vegetables, lacking depth or flavor. Adding more traditional options, such as kimchi jjigae, would be a great improvement. * The kimchi, whether as a side dish or in the pancake, tasted very mild. It didn't have the tangy, sour flavor I usually enjoy from kimchi. * The fried chicken was overly sweet, with too much batter and not enough meat. My ratings so far: * Soup: 3/10 (too plain) * Kimchi Pancake: 6/10 * Bibimbap: 6/10 I haven't had the chance to try everything yet, so this is just my personal experience. I truly hope the restaurant team can take this feedback into account because I see a lot of potential here. Despite my mixed review, I still encourage others to give this place a try -- you might enjoy it more than I did!

My friend asked me if I had heard this new place which I had not but saw they're having their soft opening so I knew I had to go check it out. It's tucked away in a plaza off Davis rd....nice large parking lot so that's always a good start for me. While they have a fancy ordering machine i didn't get to use it since someone came to take my order. I got my food as takeout but would love to go back for a dine in experience. Nothing fancy decorations and set up but very clean ans plenty of tables. I got seafood pancake which was nice and crispy and had a lot of seafood pieces. I also got the seafood tofu stew. Good amount of spiciness. I love that it came with rice. Not sure why I was surprised at getting banchan but one of my favorite part of my food..can't wait to go try the other items including their lunch plate

Meet Sejin,at The Chaum ... amazing delicious and absolutely FRESH The portions are perfect and the service is phenomenal. We ordered beef bulgogi and bibimbap. Beef bulgogi had the best fresh salad side and the most amazing knock your mouth out dressing. Fishcake and cucumber kimchi served along side. Bibimbap was perfectly cooked rice. Great flavors. Served with miso soup. Delicious food. I highly recommend try them out. ChantillyLace Kitchen #chantillylacekitchenreviews #yummie #foodie #dinner #tasting

Fast delicious authentic taste Korean food. Great service and very clean new Resturant!

Table where you order and seating

The highlight for me is the Korean Chicken Gangjeong (original flavor). It's a sweet spicy korean fried chicken bite with the best crunch and fried rice cakes. I also tried the bulgogi and ttaekbokki and both were also very good. The food comes out hot and very quickly in the two times I have visited. The Chaum is a casual dining experience. You are able to order at a kiosk or with a person. When your order is ready they call out your order number and you return your own dishes when you're done. The staff is very friendly and efficient.

Great food and service. I've been twice and ordered the Beef Bulgogi and it was great both times. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. I will definitely be going back!

    LA Galbi, Kimchi Pancake, Tteokbokki

LOVE THIS PLACE. Experience/Ambience/Service: You order by yourself and the food is served relatively quickly. Being from LA, I can confidently say that this The Chaum is a SOLID KOREAN RESTAURANT that reminds me of many restaurants from home. The restaurant is clean, welcoming, and cozy. So thankful this place exists so I can get my Korean comfort food fix. The server was extremely polite. Food: We ordered the kimchi pancake, LA Galbi plate (lunch), and tteokbokki (spicy rice cake). It was plenty of food for my husband and I. One note is that the pancake was a bit too oily for our taste but we just blotted it with our napkins. This is a common problem though for kimchi/seafood pancakes too at other places I've been so I don't fault them too much for it! It was nice and crispy with great flavor otherwise. Definitely support this business- it deserves the hype!
