App ordered a southwest salad, brought it home to find a poorly made salad with the large heel of a lettuce head, crushed corn strips you would find at the bottom of a bag and little to none of several ingredients like the black beans and corn. Very disappointing especially since the manager gave only a refund of the salad and not the whole order including the drink. Good customer service would have been to refund the FULL order as well as a credit for a future order. Last time I was in McAlister's was around 2011 in Colorado so it was a nice surprise to see it in Tennessee. I read some other reviews about this location being messy and the staff being rude or playing on their phones. For our visit today we did not have these problems. They food was great as usual and it was clean and the staff was friendly. read more

Food was ok but not great. Ordered chili , chipotle loaded potato , and nachos. Nachos were a let down , but the chipotle potato was good. Mainly think chili was bland ( which was on nachos). I'm a first timer and I'm very impressed to say the least! Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable of their menu and products. Dawn helped us as soon as we came in. She is very nice and we met Angie as well! This is not your ordinary deli. This is a DELI PLUS ! And it's not thrown together and heard you like a cow. There are so many choices other than sandwiches and then there are several different choices for sandwiches, salads, baked potato's and more! It's been long time since I've eaten at a McAlister's. This place is pretty new so there was a line out the door when we arrived. It moved along at a decent pace, and we received our food quickly after ordering. Portions are big for the price. My only complaint is that the food standard was inconsistent/low (i.e.: on my BLT+A I had only a tiny sliver of avocado, and my husband's spud could have used a bit more chili.) I hate to leave such a negative review but it's necessary. This is based on a visit to McAlisters Deli Hendersoville in September 2022. We arrived at 5:25 pm and ordered 2 spuds. At 5:40p I saw our dinner sitting in the food window to be delivered to our table. 10 minutes went by with multiple staff passing our food and no one picking it up to bring it to us. Finally, I went to the counter to ask for the food to go because we didn't anticipate the wait. After waiting 10 minutes longer watching our food continue to sit in the window(20 minutes total), at 6pm, I decided to leave. I was no longer interested in food that sat for 20 minutes while I watched it age. I paid before we ordered and hope the spuds didn't go to waste but who knows. While the staff was kind, they did not pay attention to detail or care to move at a reasonable pace. Totally bummed and hope they can get additional staff and certainly more attentive staff too! read more

The food is good, that's not the reason for my post. I understand that everyone is short staffed right now but that's no excuse for what we experienced on our visit. The girl behind the counter was playing on her phone and as we approached to order, she rolled her eyes and just stared at us. We politely say Hi, but no response. Ok, whatever. We order our simple meal to go, and she literally threw the change at us. Not sure why but that was fun. She immediately grabbed her phone and went back to TikTok. The entire dining area was a pig sty. Floors were messy, tables have used food, trays and drinks still on them with only a handful of people sitting to eat. The 2nd girl behind the counter grabbed herself a drink, grabbed her phone, and proceeded to walk by the 6 messy tables to play on her phone. Second time eating at this location and will not come back. When first arriving there were approximately 2 tables waiting for food and a family placed an order ahead of us, took 30 mins to get our food and the quality was awful. The staff was extremely unfriendly. I overheard a customer asking for a refill, the customer was super friendly trying to interact with the employee and the employee didn't even crack a smile. When the same employee brought our food out she dropped(not set them down but almost like tossed) our plates on the table we said thank you and she turned around and walked away not saying a word. Every employee that I saw walked around at a snails pace and acted like it was the most horrible day of their lives. I understand when you get busy, it may take a while for food, which is fine when it's quality food when you get it and when the staff is friendly. It's sad this has become the norm when dining out. Employees don't want to provide customer service anymore, they don't seem to have work ethic, it's very sad. Pulled up to the window to let the gentleman know and and hopefully place an order. He told us calls went to a call center and he had no control over it--and didn't seem to care. Now, there is NOBODY in line--NOBODY and he refused to take our order through the window since it's for "call in orders only". I had looked forward to this opening but will never darken the door again. Could it be the call center? Probably so, but you take care of the customer first. Period. Food is great but don't get to-go or pickup because you will wait! Waited for 15mins to get an order of a salad and soup. Two customers in line behind me somehow got their meals delivered to the table before I had to get up and ask about mine. The explanation I was given "just depends who finishes up first". This is the worst McCalister's Deli I have ever been to and doesn't even deserve 1 star. I have come here multiple times and every time they get my order wrong. The past few times I let it be because it wasn't a terrible mess up and I could still eat my food but this time I have had enough. I ordered a Chicken Caesar Wrap with Bacon and avocado as an extra but what I got was a caesar wrap stuffed with avocado and bacon with NO chicken! Love this place. My favorite sandwich is the Spicy Southwest Chicken sandwich. Absolutely love this sandwich. I usually get the choose 2. The Southwest being one and the other being the club wrap. I really want to get a whole Southwest sandwich, but I like the club wrap too. Others in my family really like their food as well. Every time I go here they get upset that I didn't bring them a sandwich back. Panera was always my go to when out and about, but that Southwest sandwich calls my name. That jalapeño bun is always soft and fresh tasting and that chipotle ranch sauce, yum! Recently, I bought my food and saved it until the next day. Was a little concerned about the Spicy Southwest sandwich being heated. I warmed it up on defrost and it still was fantastic. Between us all, we've had the ham sandwich, Caesar wrap, other chicken sandwiches and we all are very happy with our food. They don't have a drive thru (that I've noticed), it's more like order online and go through drive thru to pick up or go inside to order or pick up. I don't get the avocado on my Spicy Southwest sandwich I like avocados, but not on my sandwich). Every sandwich, that my household has personally had, we all love. When I picked my online order up and got back to work to eat I got my chili out of the bag and I was so disappointed. The bowl was about 3/4 full. For 4.99 you would think the BOWL would be FULL. This food chain does not have drive-thru ordering, it has to be either through their app. on-line or over the phone. I spent 10 min. trying to place my order over the phone since their app. said "on-line ordering was currently unavailable". First I got an automated system and placed my whole order. Once finished I was told by the system that it was having trouble transferring my order. So next a real person from a call center, not from my area, came on and I had to repeat the whole order again. Once done she put me on hold, then came back and said that this location was only taking orders inside. That I would need to go inside to place my order. This is twice I've tried to order from here and this has happened. I don't have problem getting out and going in a restaurant, but when you advertise ordering on-line, then you need to provide that. Needless to say I went somewhere else. Get your technology fixed or don't advertise on-line or phone ordering. Or how about try a novel idea and let customers order through the drive-thru. read more
