I'd heard good things about this place and was excited to try it! My favorite chicken salad has grapes in it, so I had to go for the Fancy Nancy salad with apples, grapes, and pecans. YUM! The only reason I'm taking off one star is because there was l only had one grape in my salad scoop...which was a little sad haha. I'm assuming that was just bad luck, but it did leave me wanting. I am pregnant and having some strong cravings and was SO happy to pass by here on a day I was super craving chicken salad. I got the Olivia's Old South (with sweet pickles) - I was nervous it would be too sweet but it was perfect. I got it on a croissant and was nervous it would be too small but, again, it was the perfect size. I only ordered a sandwich because I wanted to save money but I was pleasantly full off just the entree. My order had a problem and I had to exchange it and the management was so great about it. So this place is a chain but it is new to Indy. So we went and got carry out from them this afternoon. Since we had never been here before we got several different versions of chicken salad to see which we will fall in love with. The staff was really friendly and Janice was helpful since I told her it was our first visit. They have many different types of chicken salad which is made with all white meat chicken breast (Major bonus points) you can have it on a sandwich or in a salad or by itself with crackers. I got one of the strawberry salads with a single scoop of Fancy Nancy. Then I got two trios where we could sample the different varieties. We got fancy Nancy , Fruity Frannie, cranberry Kelli Sassy Scotty Kickin Kay Lynne Buffalo Barclay and I'd that wasn't enough we got two orders of their Grape salad with red and white grapes with cream cheese and brown sugar which are delicious and then we got a fruit cup with a variety of fruits. My husband really liked the Barbie-q chicken salad blt on toasted white bread with mac&cheese, I had Lauryn's Lemon basil chicken salad BLT on croissant (very good croissants) with broccoli salad. 1st they are not offering curbside order pickup as shown on this page. You can order online and pickup carry out or do drive thru, they told me I wouldn't be able to order pickup in the drive thru next time. I can see the drive thru line getting terribly backed up at lunch time. The Mac & cheese is on par with chik fil a but less caked in cheese which is nice! Would recommend. The original chicken salad had a good taste but I felt like the sandwich didn't have a lot of it on there. Especially with the croissant being pretty dry and bready (not buttery flakey) it made it hard to really taste the chicken salad. Enjoyed my experience! I work in the area and was thrilled to see they have a drive thru. It was rainy today, so the drive thru was packed. I headed inside and the wait wasn't bad. So many helpful and friendly staff members inside. I ordered the Buffalo chicken salad on white. I thought it was supposed to come with tomatoes and lettuce but mine didn't. It's not a chunky chicken salad--very finely chopped, and the Buffalo is pretty much just chicken, Mayo and Buffalo sauce. Simple but very good. Great lunch spot! My husband and I visited today. The menu has plenty of options. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. We tried 3 different options. I really wanted to like Chicken Salad Chick but sadly, I couldn't. I went with my SO who loves chicken salad (it was his choice for lunch actually) for a weekday lunch. Like, I would go get grocery deli chicken salad and it would be better. For some reason the pulverize all their salads which just makes it come across like baby food or tuna salad. If a place specializes in chicken, can't they put the effort in to shred or cube the chicken? What's so wrong with their chicken that they'll only present it as a mush? Both our salads pretty much tasted the same. Mine technically had onions but they didn't shine and my SO couldn't taste any sweetness to hint at a pickle. The "toasted wheat" was insane. It was the most lightly toasted bread ever. I think they actually lightly toast some bread in the AM and let it cook and soften all day because it wasn't warm or crispy. The sides were terrible, we didn't finish them at all. Pasta salad was dry with Italian herbs shaken on and the broccoli salad was just.... Bad. We came away from this thinking that the restaurant caters to people without teeth because everything was so soft, mushy and required zero use of teeth. So for someone who needs that I guess it's fine but what a weird way to design a business. My tip- go to the deli and bring home a big batch of chicken salad and make the sammies at home because this place is a money pit. Or better, make your own. I suspect they use canned chicken anyways since they pulverize it and it's so flavorless. The 2 stars are there because service was good. The staff was friendly and, well, my lemonade was okay. Even when we got to the window they were slow with getting our food. However, the lady at the window was very friendly and let us know the potato soup was amazing. It was busy at lunch time so I was hoping for good things! I liked that they had prepackaged offerings to go at the front of the line. My cashier was super friendly and sweet. I got my order placed and picked a spot to sit. I ordered the fancy Nancy on a croissant, a scoop of pimento cheese(I ordered the spicy and got the regular), and the grape salad. I'll start with the grape salad and it was delicious. So much so I was googling how to make it myself. The pimento cheese scoop was a good size and was delicious as well but let's get to why we are all there. The chicken salad, fancy Nancy-apples, grapes and pecans added to the chicken salad. There was one whole grape in the sandwich and a piece of apple and virtually no pecans in what I think was chicken salad but not sure because it is like mush. It had a good flavor but it seemed lacking to me. Not sure that this a return for me after seeing what the hype was about. And only one kind had onions in it and I didn't see many with nuts! I opted to get Olivia's Old South which has Mayo, Sweet Pickles and Eggs. And you can get it as a scoop or a sandwich. I got a scoop as I wanted to taste it on its own merit. And it comes with a side, so I opted for a cup of tomato bisque. It came with a stack of Club Crackers which can be used for the chicken salad or the bisque. And it came with a cookie as well, which I have not eaten yet. And I got an iced tea to drink. Now $11 for what you see and the drink may sound a little pricey, but you definitely tell everything is fresh made. The quality is excellent. So I think the price tag was fine. They were very busy and the place was clean & immaculate. And the employees were very kind with excellent, quality service. I had my food about 5-7 minutes after ordering. And the manager did a good job interacting with the customers, but not being overbearing. Truly a great and unique restaurant and I will definitely be a frequent customer! If you're a chicken salad fan, I highly recommend this place! My one suggestion to them is to have like a half-scoop sampler of 3,4 or 5 flavors of the varieties of salad. Biggest tip: BE PREPARED BEFORE YOU GO. Are you a senior that needs time looking over a menu? Read it and make up your mind before going. With the drive through line clogged up worse than the Chick Fil A drive through next door, I went inside to place a to go order- big mistake. Like many fast casual restaurants, there's a line and then ordering counter with a menu behind it. Main issue was this: seniors LOVE chicken salad. They LOVE it. So the line wrapped back to the front door full of seniors who couldn't read the menu boards till they were right at the counter. Then they had QUESTIONS. And I mean ALOT of them. There was confusion and unpreparedness everywhere you looked. The wait in line was about 20-25 minutes. I didn't realize it would take this long and by the time I did it was too late and I was invested. Note to management: assign a staff member to hand out menus to those in line and answer their questions BEFORE they make it to the counter. At least during peak times. Food: good. I had a classic salad with classic Carol. I would return again but not till the opening rush dies down. myself and only one other woman ordered our meals to go and it took another 15 minute wait to get them. Sooooo yummy!! I heard this place had recently opened and wanted to give them some business. I love that they had a drive thru (social distancing). I ordered the Classic Carol which was all white chicken, Mayo, celery and their secret ingredient on toasted wheat bread with tomato and lettuce....AMAZING! After a long day of work I decided to check this place out. One of my coworkers tried the other location and she liked it. I was excited to find out that the location near my home had a drive thru. Earlier that day I went through reviews to get an idea of what I may or may not like. I decided to get a trio so I could try multiple scoops of chicken salads. I ordered the buffalo barclay, pimento cheese, and dill diva. I also ordered a large lemonade after hearing so many people say how sweet it is. I love lemonade especially when it is sweet so I could not pass that up. My total came out to about $14. The scoops comes with crackers and you also get a cookie. Well from my most favorite to least favorite of the scoops I'd say buffalo barclay, dill diva, and last the pimento cheese. If I ever go back I would definitely get the buffalo barclay. Honestly the entire meal was just okay to me. The reviews about the lemonade was spot on and I would definitely come back for another lemonade. Ever since then I have been wanting to try the restaurant for myself, but they only had locations down south. Now they are rapidly expanding into the midwest' At first, the menu can be a little intimidating. There are a lot of options, and one can wonder "how many types of chicken salad can you have?" Apparently a lot of chicken salad. How the meal works = your choice of a scoop of chicken salad or pimento (scoops come with crackers) or a chicken salad sandwich made out of any of the chicken salad varieties. Your side can be a fruit cup, chips, grape salad, pasta salad, or even another scoop of chicken salad or pimento. A small iced sugar cookie comes with the meal and the you can also add a beverage like sweet tea or coke. I got the chicken salad sandwich BLT made out of what I believe was called "sassy scotty". I tell yah, you feel like a real man ordering a "chick" made of "sassy scotty". I got a scoop of pimento as my side. I toasted my white bread and overall just really enjoyed my sandwich but especially enjoyed the scoop of pimento! It did not feel like an overly heavy lunch but certainly did not feel too healthy.
