Not to many places where you can pick from a dozen different chicken salads and two types of pimiento cheese spreads (plain or jalepeno). We ended up here as we were staying at the Courtyard Marriott and this place was close and quick. Their hours are not late though-8pm. We took our order to go as we arrived at 7:45pm after 6 hours of driving. You could walk here from the hotels across the street--but there are not sidewalks from the hotels. Safer to drive the 2 minute drive. We each went for the pick two and it was TOO much. Lol. We should have shared just one pick two. One of us had the traditional (Carol) and the other had the one with eggs. Can't remember the name!! They were both great. The pick two also comes with two sides. We tried the broccoli salad, pasta salad and macaroni and cheese. We just did the scoops and we asked for a few more crackers--because we weren't sure how many crackers we needed. Glad we asked. It was a lot in these scoops. Bigger than an ice cream scoop! My favorite was the broccoli salad. They ask you if you would like bacon. Yes-please!! Mac and cheese was just ok. The pasta salad was descent. I would lean toward the broccoli. Each meal comes with a small packaged iced sugar cookie. Nice treat. I will try this chain again. Just at a local place by us. I'm still holding a grudge about the poblano soup leaving the menu but that's not enough to keep me away from the kickin Kay Lynne melt. I tried the pasta salad this time but it was alittle dry and the cheddar broccoli soup was fairly bland with exception of the fresh shredded cheese but the sugar cookie is always the perfect after meal snack and I never have a complaint about my sandwiches. Definitely was not a fan of the mushy pickle this time around. Maybe it was just an off day, I ate everything but the pickle so I have no true complaints. My sister brought me chicken salad from Chicken Salad Chick last year and I as impressed. When I came to Jacksonville this year, I knew I had to come to try more. I like chicken salad but it can be a tad boring, but this is not the case at Chicken Salad Chick. There are so many options to chose from and they differ so much you won't get bored easily. My personal favorite is the Kickin' Kay Lynne, I love the bacon and cheese with the slight kick from the buffalo and the jalapeno and the coolness of the ranch. It's a perfect blend of savory and spicy. The Sassy Scotty is similar, but no spice. It's good, but I do enjoy a kick. I've also tried the Fancy Nancy and the Fruit Fran. These two are similar in that they both have apples and grapes. Fruit Fran also has pineapple whereas the Fancy Nancy has pecans. Both are good, but I think I like the Fruity Fran a little more. I took some with me back home and it was a great meal on the plane. I did not eat in the store and only purchased the pre-packaged containers so my review is based solely on this. The staff are friendly and will give you plenty of crackers to enjoy you chicken salad. This is definitely one of my favorite spot and wish we had one in CA. read more

Overall, I have actually really grown to like chicken salad chick. I wasn't really sure about the first time I went because I've never been huge on chicken salad, but that is mainly because I am not a large fan of mayo. However, they have such a variety that there is some thing for everyone. Their chicken salad is not usually runny and doesn't have an overly mayo flavor so I actually really like it. I usually go for the BLT sandwich with the lemon basil chicken salad. I am not a huge fan of lemon or basil, but I have found that this is my favorite. It is absolutely perfect! It has a good amount of flavor and no one ingredient is overpowering. I have tried some others and I've gotten some to take home, which is very convenient. I like that they do have a refrigerated section at the front of the store where you can get, pre-scooped chicken salad that is ready to go. They always give plenty of crackers to go along with it. The service is usually good. The wait can take a little while sometimes which I don't always understand because everything is premade but that is just nitpicking. My other thing is that they are not big on customizations. A friend of mine wanted to add onion to her sandwich, not in the salad, but just on the sandwich and she was told no because everything is pre-portioned so she could not add it. A little bit odd but maybe that is just the way they do it. This location is convenient to my office so on days when I am at the office and we want to go grab lunch we do often come here. I love this location because there is the sweetest southern kindest most gracious African American woman who works the drive through. Quick place to grab a sandwich and sit. We ordered our meal at the counter and sat ourselves. Food came out pretty quick. The service was minimal interaction but very friendly. The chicken sandwich was good and I would get it again (fancy nancy). Extra points for toasting my bread. I Also loved that it comes with a little cookie. My love for this chain started at this location. The food is great, and they aren't stingy with it either. They give you quite a bit for ten dollars. The service is excellent for the most part, I have never experienced rude servers and I was always greeted with a smile. However, the service is rather slow. As of right now, I have only been in drive thru, so I have nothing to say about the ambiance or indoor atmosphere. Another thing I'd like to add is that they suddenly stopped serving my usual, Lauryn Lemon Basil, for months. I love chicken and I love salads so I definitely had to try this chicken salad place that I've heard so much about. I didn't realize how early they closed and I believe I arrived 10 minutes before closing. I think Serenity was the cashier that helped me & she was very friendly considering how close it was to closing time. I had wanted to get the containers of salad to bring home & she helped me choose & even let me sample since I said it was my first time. I love onion so I went with the large container of Dixie and I got a small container of Sassy Scottie. Total came to a little less than $20. Went home and made a sandwich with the chicken salads. It's been 3 days and both containers made about 10-12 sandwiches. This is one of those lunch places that I've been wanting to try for a while now but being an advocate bring your lunch to work kind of girl, I don't venture out too often. I had the Jazzy Julie and it had a very nice kick to it with just enough spice without being too overpowering. The side of artichoke pasta salad was delightful too. I'm glad they included the pickle which helped cleanse your palate so you could enjoy each of the flavors.
