Salad with a scoop of classic chicken salad.

I met some of the sweet staff members ever with my driveway through experience. They were so patient with my order and also offering suggestions. The cashier recommended new bonus perks . The salad includes good, fresh and crunchy greens. The chicken salad was perfect - just enough mayonnaise and great seasoning. I think that the side of cookie and pickles were so yummy

Love going here for a lighter healthier lunch! I like how you can choose which two or three different flavors of chicken salad you want to get. I also like how they have such a good variety of flavors. And the little cookie they give you with your meal is to die for!!

Food was old. Mac n cheese was brown and tortilla soup was clumpy and chunky (as seen in photos)

Overall, I have actually really grown to like chicken salad chick. I wasn't really sure about the first time I went because I've never been huge on chicken salad, but that is mainly because I am not a large fan of mayo. However, they have such a variety that there is some thing for everyone. Their chicken salad is not usually runny and doesn't have an overly mayo flavor so I actually really like it. I usually go for the BLT sandwich with the lemon basil chicken salad. I am not a huge fan of lemon or basil, but I have found that this is my favorite. It is absolutely perfect! It has a good amount of flavor and no one ingredient is overpowering. I have tried some others and I've gotten some to take home, which is very convenient. I like that they do have a refrigerated section at the front of the store where you can get, pre-scooped chicken salad that is ready to go. They always give plenty of crackers to go along with it. The service is usually good. The wait can take a little while sometimes which I don't always understand because everything is premade but that is just nitpicking. My other thing is that they are not big on customizations. A friend of mine wanted to add onion to her sandwich, not in the salad, but just on the sandwich and she was told no because everything is pre-portioned so she could not add it. A little bit odd but maybe that is just the way they do it. This location is convenient to my office so on days when I am at the office and we want to go grab lunch we do often come here. I will continue to come back as the quality is very good.

Quick place to grab a sandwich and sit. We ordered our meal at the counter and sat ourselves. Food came out pretty quick. The service was minimal interaction but very friendly. The chicken sandwich was good and I would get it again (fancy nancy). Extra points for toasting my bread. I Also loved that it comes with a little cookie. I've been the location on town center, this is a much cleaner. The restaurant was clean and so was the restrooms. +++ Definitely would come again for a quick bite.

I could not have enjoyed this place more. I love chicken salad so I knew I would like it, but I really liked it! I got the trio of Jalapeño, Fancy Nancy and Buffalo Chicken. Every time I took a bite, I would say, "this one is my favorite." Then I would take the next bite, " no, this ones my favorite"...yeah that went on the whole time. They were all so good. Next time I will have to try some new favorites. Good spot. Friendly staff. Thumbs up.

Always nice, fresh and healthy! The cookie was soft shortbread and icing. A delicious touch to a quick lunch. The fancy Nancy has chicken, grapes and pecans and Fuji apples. TheFran was delicious with Fuji apples and pineapple... clean place with very friendly staff. Just like home. Highly recommend.

I do love this place and come here often for a sandwich. Today I just got 2 scoops instead. It was a little runny though today, like it had been sitting out unrefrigerated so wasn't 100% pleased with my meal or service but I will come back because I come here often and understand everyone has an off day.

I go crazy with all this delish chicken salad!! I love the friendly and helpful staff, the Uber clean restaurant and wide choices! I had the traditional and it was so good! I love the kale salad & tea! The little treat of a sugar cookie makes it pretty Southern perfect!

Fancy Nancy Scoop, Tomato Bisque and a sweet little cookie!

We started with their Steamed Pork Dumplings, which we've never had before. I was expecting them to be like a basic shumai type of thing but they were very unique, in a good way. Very flavorful and we tore right through them. I had Pad Thai with pork for my protein. Their sauce has a touch of sweetness to it but it's not overbearing in any way. They give you a good amount of meat with your noodles too, so I feel like it's priced right for what you get. Lauren had the Thai Sweet & Sour, which she's had before but last time she didn't get any spice in it. This time out, she went with their medium spicy level and thought it added a whole dimension she didn't realize was missing last time. For those wondering about their spice level, she told me that she thought I could handle it which means it's not all that spicy. So maybe use that as a guide if you stop in and have a preference for hot or not. We think this was the third time we've stopped in here and we know we've liked it each time we've been. I'm glad we were over that way so it made it easy to stop by. This review originally appeared in the Jacksonville Fun, Eats & Drinks Facebook group

Good Friday dinner I…read moreonly had 6 or so hours to go until I could eat meat or poultry. I had also just arrived in Jacksonville after driving down from Atlanta, for which the rest of the drive to the Fort Lauderdale area would take place the following day. I know the lay of the land where I-95 and the JTB come together and it's not the sort of area to look for innovation in lodging and restauration. Instead, there will be hotel and restaurant brands you recognize. That might be boring, but the consolation is that the area is fairly manicured and sits in Jacksonville's better quadrant. I looked on my phone and was willing to go a little ways to enjoy some tasty fish for dinner on Good Friday. I kept going in circles, not really finding anything. I threw in the towel and went to this Cracker Barrel. I'm sort of glad I did. They feature nightly specials and it seems that, on Friday, they have a platter named a Fish Fry. It's not buffet style, but they do include 4 pieces of fish. As can be expected for a Southern born and themed place, it will be very breaded. I chose 3 sides instead of just 2. I deserved this perk after such a long drive through swaths of cracker territory. I ordered baked beans, broccoli, and a hash potato type casserole. All of the sides were good, with the potato being the winner. I could have eaten more of it. And it goes without saying that the fish was also good. The service was prompt and amicable, with my coffee being refilled on the regular. For the quantity and for it all being fairly decent, the value was there. Sure, I would have liked to have had some broiled fish at an indie locale, but I was tired. The drive was arduous and this would be the midpoint of the trip. Instead of following I-75 south, I took I-10 east and then I-95 south, which would then lead to South Florida. That last leg on I-10 always makes me ponder life upon seeing thick stands of Southern pine en route to Florida's largest yet not so well-known city of Jacksonville, which is then all the more interesting to me because this is transcontinental I-10's eastern endpoint, whereas I was born near its western endpoint. This store follows a boilerplate seen chainwide from sea to shining sea. The general store is an annoyance to me, but it seems to be a place where blue hairs, Karens who didn't go to college, and little kids might find things "cute." The food is what is now tritely known as "comfort food," a term that might be heard about as often as the declaration that someone has boundary issues. However, this Cracker Barrel, as do most, does a fairly good job with that "comfort food."

Super nice waitress, Ronny, who went out of her way. Kicked off with biscuits, as always. For meals we had: All Star- Eggs, all the meats, and chocolate chip pancakes. My son liked the pancakes the best. Biscuits and gravy and a house salad- my daughter's bday request and she loved the ranch dressing. Pancake breakfast for my other daughter. For my husband, the honey butter fried chicken. While the taste was great, there was almost no meat and all breading on all except for the chicken breast, so was a let down. Best meal tip: And then for me, hands down the best meal which all agreed to: grilled chicken strip meal with two sides (house salad and hash brown casserole). While the casserole was lukewarm, I ordered a side of the honey butter for the grilled chicken and it literally melted the chicken. In my mouth. Super delicious and will be back just for this (as my husband and son also want. Also kicked off with a mimosa. Salad was super fresh with tomatoes, cucumbers, and cheese.

Architecture & Atmosphere: The building looks like someone…read moretook a normal chicken joint and then yelled "EXTREME!" at it until it grew neon signs, flame decals, and a roof shaped like a giant chicken tender. Inside, the vibe is half sports bar, half carnival ride. Bright colors, loud music, and TVs everywhere showing either skateboarding fails or chicken-themed commercials. Employees: The staff are hyped up like they just ate a whole basket themselves. They greet you with, "Welcome to the EXTREME!" and somehow make you believe this isn't just lunch, it's an event. Service is quick, friendly, and a little chaotic -- like your food might arrive with someone ringing a cowbell. Food: The chicken strips are the main event, and they are absurd. Each one is the size of your forearm, battered so heavily that the crunch echoes across the room. Flavor levels go from "Original Crunch" to "Atomic Blast." Sides include fries, onion rings, and something called Extreme Slaw (which tastes like normal slaw but comes in a black-and-red container). Sauces are plentiful, ranging from ranch to a Carolina Reaper dip that feels like a dare. Bathrooms: Surprisingly clean for a place this wild. The stalls are decorated with graffiti-style chicken art, and the soap dispensers say "Wash your hands... EXTREME!" Mirrors have neon frames, which makes you feel like you're in a music video while fixing your hair. Extras: They have arcade machines in the corner (mostly racing and shooting games), and the napkin dispensers shoot napkins at you with way too much force. Seating is sturdy, clearly built for people who plan to eat three baskets and then collapse. Final Verdict: Chicken Strip Extreme isn't just a restaurant -- it's an experience. Loud, wild, and unapologetically over the top. You don't just eat here, you survive it.

Eureka (I have found it)! Hollywood in Florida!!!!…read more JUST like Dr. Indiana Jones combing through the jungles seeking his ancient museum artifacts, I was navigating the curvy wilds of the Jacksonville Southpoint area, located near I-95 and JTB. The best things in life require some effort to build your appetite, and whereas I did not collect a golden idol like Dr. Jones, I was rewarded instead with a cheerful new friend and one of the absolute FRESHEST sandwiches in JAX! Nestled between the sparse woods and surrounding offices you will find happy, loyal diners who fill Hollywood Heroes and Subs each lunchtime to the point where the line stretches out the door. I had just seen the last of the lunch crowd smiling and saying goodbye for the day to our energetic and upbeat host, Founder, sandwich artist and Jacksonville native Kevin Porter, an actor turned restaurateur -- known for roles including "Lazer" in Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, plus appearances in Daredevil and General Hospital. Something that cannot be "acted" around was his genuine welcome and desire to roll out the red Hollywood carpet for all who make the journey (yes, it's a REAL red carpet)!! This sweet shop is the perfect size, and has a significant amount of Hollywood memorabilia all around to keep you engaged while chatting with Kevin as he works his magic. And what he produced was a treasure of cheese and meats that made me forget about whatever might have been chasing me through those woods to get there! J/K In between wonderful conversation with Kevin, each bite of my MASSIVE "The Towering Inferno" hot hero (pepperoni, Genoa salami, cappy and melted provolone) on fresh baked Village Bread made me realize just how huge and delicious this thing was. Kevin promised that the one pictured is exactly what every customer will get...he prides himself on highly generous portions at fair prices...and man, did he deliver!! I would have been completely satisfied with HALF, but NO!!!! There sat its twin, begging for sacrifice to the stomach Gods. I was only too happy to oblige! The owner Kevin = engaging, friendly, talented with his craft, makes you feel like you drove through the woods to come home to your happy place. The ambiance = bright, colorful, great memorabilia, puts you as the star of the show. The sandwiches = creative in name and product with fresh being the operative word, this sandwich hit above its price point and I can't wait to try to the rest of the menu! So no, I didn't get chased by a boulder, or leave with Dr. Jones' golden idol, but I did get a Golden Belly from my experience, and the knowledge of why hundreds of hungry lunch- goers seek this "Temple of Delish" every day!!
