3 scoops with a mini cookie and crackers.
Linda P.

I've been wanting to try this place since it first opened but didn't have the chance until just recently. Since I'm indecisive and picky about my chicken salad, I decided to try 2 scoops and added a third. Online ordering was easy, but the lady at the counter when I came in for pick up did not smile, did not speak, and sighed in an aggrieved manner when I said I had a pickup order. She walked over, grabbed it, set it on the counter and walked away. I'm only hoping she was having an epically bad day and this isn't how she always greets customers. Now for food. I ordered the classic, old south, and sassy. The Classic was just way too plain for me. The Old South is more what I consider a good, basic chicken salad. I'd order it again in a pinch. However the Sassy with bacon and cheese really surprised me. It was my fav of the three. My only food complaint was I needed more than the 5 packs of crackers I got, but for normal people that's probably enough. LoL

Stopped by for lunch. Great food again. Such great customer service. Owner brought out samples of their red velvet cake. Yummy! We really like this place. Come hungry--the portions are big!

I was going back and forth between a 3 and a 4 -Star review. Today was the grand opening. It was very well staffed, everyone was friendly and wait time wasn't terrible. The menu is vast, lots of choices. The sandwiches were delicious but the portion size on one of the sandwiches was a joke, it was served on a teeny tiny little croissant, I finished it in literally 5 bites, definitely not worth the $14 price. My wife's sandwich which was on white bread was much larger. I wouldn't recommend ordering one of the croissants if you're even remotely hungry, I'm still hungry after eating the croissant sandwich and a side of pasta salad. I posted a photo next to my car key fob for size reference. I'll definitely go back and give it another shot but hopefully the portion size is a bit more satisfying next time. Honestly, if the croissant sandwich was bigger I'd have left a 5-Star review.

Classic Carol Scoop, crackers, grape salad and broccoli salad

Chicken Salad Chick delivers the best chicken salad! It is tender and moist with a comforting flavor. I ordered the Classic Carol Salad. It is a basic chicken salad, but they have an extensive list of chicken salads to appease everyone. They offer a scoop meal with crackers or a sandwich scoop served on either white or wheat bread or a croissant. One or two scoops can be ordered. The meal comes with a side including broccoli salad, fresh fruit, grape salad (in a light creamy sauce with brown sugar and crushed pecans), pasta salad, mac and cheese, soup or chips. My personal favorites are the grape salad, broccoli salad and pasta salad. The grapes are fresh and large! The brown sugar and pecans complement them! The meals also include a pickle and a frosted cookie. It is a great price under $12.00! The employees are friendly and accommodating. It has a warm, cozy, Southern-style atmosphere.

When we arrived, there was no one else waiting and I'd guess that only 75% of the tables had customers. Couldn't have been more wrong in our decision as we waited for over an hour post ordering before we actually received our meal. This is the longest we have waited for breakfast... EVER. Anyone with kids knows having kids sit still and wait with minimal sources of entertainment is hard enough, then add hunger to the equation and it's a recipe for disaster. What could have made our experience better? 1 - Be transparent about your delays upfront -- Empower your diners to make a decision around whether they'd want to wait or not given how busy you are. Don't continue to seat customers when your kitchen is severely behind and hope diners don't notice. 2 - A small gesture goes a long way -- It would have been nice for SC to offer a couple of biscuits given the excessive wait. 3 - Don't add insult to injury... by bringing butter and ketchup 30+ minutes before the meal arrives. It added to the frustration that even my 7yo remarked "what are we going to do with butter, we have no food". They offered more water even when all our water cups were clearly full. Don't really understand how more water would make us less hungry? Looking at another recent 1-star review, I can see the same pattern as our experience. This restaurant clearly doesn't fail gracefully on busy days... and they don't seem to care either. At the conclusion of our meal, we didn't even get the typical "how was your meal" question from anyone. I guess they already knew.

Bottom Line: Very decent value for the buck…read more Haven't been here in some time. This place has gone through a number of makeovers over the years but it is decidedly a sports bar vibe where you enter the space and traditional restaurant in the back area. Overall a very casual and lively vibe. We waited about 15 minutes with a packed house and were seated in the restaurant portion in a very spacious booth. Our server was prompt, courteous, pleasant, and efficient--attentive but not overly so. The food was excellent with very ample portions at reasonable pricing with many options under $20. I will say they could skip the bread basket before your meal comes out and just put it into giving you a side with the sandwiches versus charging you $2 for each side added. That being said the food came out promptly, was warm, and very satisfying. Hopefully Chuck's keeps value for customers' hard earned buck in mind and they will continue to do well.

They also feature an extensive craft beer selection. I went with the seasonal Abita Bad Mother Shucker Stout, which was a fun nod to Mardi Gras and a solid stout choice for the occasion. For my entrée, I ordered the Mardi Gras Platter ($32.99). It included: * Choice of soup (I chose the seafood chowder) * Shrimp Creole * Jambalaya * Chicken Étouffée * Crawfish & Shrimp Monica * Broccoli The restaurant was busy, which is understandable for Fat Tuesday, but our food took quite a while to arrive. The soup was delivered at the same time as the platter. In my opinion, the soup should have come out first. Ironically, the seafood chowder ended up being the highlight of the meal--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. Unfortunately, by the time I finished the soup and moved on to the platter, most of it was only room temperature. The items were layered and grouped together in a way that made it unclear what paired with what. The chicken was noticeably overcooked and lacked depth of flavor. It tasted as though Cajun seasoning had simply been sprinkled on top rather than developed into the dish. Overall, the platter lacked the bold, authentic Cajun flavor profile I was expecting. The Crawfish & Shrimp Monica was advertised as coming in a bowl but was served in what amounted to a cup-sized portion. The menu description listed Cajun Alfredo sauce, crawfish, crab, blackened shrimp, pasta, Parmesan cheese, and broccoli. After mixing in the Parmesan, I searched for the seafood components and found none--no visible crab, crawfish, or blackened shrimp in the pasta. I mentioned this to the bartender, who said they would bring some out to add in. A few minutes later, three Cajun shrimp were delivered. There was still no crab or crawfish. While the Alfredo sauce and pasta themselves were very good, the absence of the advertised proteins significantly hurt the dish. Had I ordered the Crawfish & Shrimp Monica on its own for $24.99 and received the same portion and lack of seafood, I would have been extremely disappointed. Overall, while the concept and menu sounded promising for Mardi Gras, the execution--especially at that price point--left a lot to be desired.

We walked back out and found the door to the restaurant. Staff is warm and friendly and we were seated quickly. Our server was Robert and he was great! He gave his recommendations for which sides would go best with our meals and I felt they were spot on. They give complimentary bread and butter. It was warm and delicious. Hubby ordered the rib tips with fries, baked beans, and had the hot and mild barbecue sauce on the side. I ordered the 1/2 dark smoked chicken dinner with mac-n-cheese, spicy Cajun green beans, and spicy honey garlic barbecue sauce. I agree with Robert, that the sauce pairs very well with the chicken. The tips were tender and falling off the bone. He didn't care for the fries and loved the baked beans, even though they were a bit too spicy for him. My chicken was also very tender and I enjoyed the smokiness. The green beans had the right amount of spice although they were not as spicy as the baked beans. The mac-n-cheese was creamy. We were too full to order dessert. Maybe next time. This is a great neighborhood staple and will definitely be back.

The lighting and décor felt festive without being overwhelming, and the space itself is huge. There's plenty of room whether you're dining with family, catching a game with friends, or just unwinding with drinks after a long day. Speaking of drinks, they're very reasonably priced--definitely worth opening a tab and relaxing for a while. For food, I tried Chuck's Wings with roasted vegetables and Cajun fries. Nothing is ever truly perfect, but these wings came close. The sauce was spot-on--easily some of the best I've had. The vegetables were cooked just right and packed with flavor, and the Cajun fries tied everything together perfectly. Overall, this spot delivers on both atmosphere and quality. Definitely worth checking out.
