And I loved it, the meal I ordered was a jalapeño holly chicken salad sandwich with wheat bread toasted and a chicken tortilla soup. They were both great, especially for the price. There's something about chicken salad that feels nostalgic for me, and I love getting the BLT sandwich! I'm definitely a plain eater when it comes to chicken salad, so I haven't tried any of the more unique flavors. I love the Classic Carol and the Fruity Fran. I have had an issue with them running out of flavors during the day, but at least I know that it's freshly made and if you don't get it early enough then you're SOL! Wow!!! This place rocks! Chicken Salad Chick is finally on Kennedy and doing great. Parking situation is a little tricky but there are more spots in the back of the building. Out of the 12 different kinds of chicken salads they offer, my favorites are Sassy Scotty (cheddar, ranch and bacon), Jalapeño Holly (spicy), Lemon basil and Kay-Annes. Btw, all the names of the chicken salads are named after the founders family and friends. Such a sweet way to remember the ones closest to her. Only criticism, i wish they had healthier sides. I had no idea that a place that almost solely focuses on chicken salad could be successful, but here we are. This location just opened up near work, and it was all anyone could talk about. So I decided to give it a try a mere two days after they opened. I thought they might be busy, but I guess I caught them at the right time (about an hour before close) because I had no wait. They had far more flavored chicken salad options than I had ever thought possible, but thankfully they'll let you try whatever you like. I thought I'd get just the "Classic Carol" (the original recipe), but upon trying the Lauryn's Lemon Basil, I decided I liked it better since it has a bright, citrus-y flavor that isn't overwhelming. I ordered it as a sandwich (if you order white or wheat, they can toast it, but they cannot toast croissants), and opted for the wheat bread. For my side, I chose the fresh fruit. I only had to wait a few minutes before my food was brought to my table. Even though I'd asked for the bread to be toasted, and it certainly LOOKED toasted, it didn't taste like it had been, so that was a little bit of a letdown. But overall I was surprised by how much I liked the sandwich. I tend to get tired of chicken salad sandwiches halfway through, but I actually ate the whole sandwich, which is rare for me. The plate comes with a dill pickle (yum) and a small iced cookie, which is a nice touch. But the one thing that really did disappoint me was the fruit. Like I said, they'd only been open for two days, yet my fruit -- especially the strawberries -- tasted old. I ended not eating most of them because they were soggy and bruised. The interior of this place is beautiful and charming in an Old South sort of way. The staff are still obviously quite new, but they are all very polite and happy to answer any questions. My son and I attended the grand opening celebration at Chicken Salad Chick on West Kennedy Boulevard. The staff was so welcoming and helpful during our visit! My toddler and I made lunch plans with fellow Yelper, Anna, so we arrived early before the crowd arrived. We bumped into other Yelpers, Tina, Nick, and their precious daughter. I tried the Fancy Nancy Chicken Salad with fuji apples, grapes and pecans. The chicken salad wasn't too sweet and the apples and nuts gave the salad a nice crunch. There was the option to order the salad on bread or over salad greens. I skipped the croissant, but it looked really good for a cheat day! The salad came with choice of a side dish and crackers, a pickle and a cookie. I got the grape salad on my first visit, but it was a little to sweet so I ordered the broccoli salad on my second visit. I loved the chicken salad and my son was a big fan too! There are about a dozen chicken salad options so I will be returning to try the rest of the menu. If you're watching your diet all of the calories are listed on the menu. I asked for the nutrition and allergy info while I was ordering and they had it readily available in a binder. Their website also has the info which is helpful because I was able to find a keto option for my husband beforehand. The chicken salad is absolutely delicious and I loved it. I can not wait to return and bring my gluten free bread so I can make a sandwich. You have a return customer! And 2 orders for salads was only 14.00$ that price point is awesome. I have loved Chicken Salad Chick since having discovered them at the USF area, and until this place opened, I had to travel mighty far just to get my Chicken Salad fix. For those are not familiar to the CSC concept, they offer an insane variety of chicken salad. I'm huge fan of pretty simple lunch food (but ONLY if done right) and the quality of CSC shines bright. For me, I'm a savory kind of gal, so I go for either Sassy Scotty ( bacon, ranch, cheddar) or Kickin Kay Lynne (almost the same as Sassy Scotty, but hot). I pair this up with a croissant to make a sammich (my usual) and get their delucious broccoli salad as the side (perfection with bacon bits and cheddar cheese with some kind of dressing that i cant identify that's so good i tip my head back and drink what's left in the cup) The meals come with a cookie,but yoy can buy a decorated frosted cookie or a marshmallow treat if that's not enough. They also have monthly dessert specials that's worth noting. What i love about this location is that it's so easy for me to get to. It's always clean, and the staff here are always polite and prompt. My all-time go-to favorite is Olivia's Old South A southern tradition combining sweet pickles & eggs. My side is a grape salad. it is so delicious. On a croissant is the way to go. This will be a two-fold review. The first was from yesterday via Uber Eats. After reading the descriptions from their website, I settled on Classic Carol on a croissant and a scoop of Sassy Scotty. I received my food in less than 20 minutes. It was packaged very well and the portion was perfect for the size of the croissant. This was some of the most delicious chicken salad I've ever had. I thought that title forever belonged to a bistro back in Memphis, but that is no longer true. I took my time and ate my croissant. I did have some tortilla chips with it. It filled me up, big time. I ended up snacking on Sassy Scotty a few hours later, before putting the remainder on two slices of wheat bread. The scoops aren't gargantuan, but the flavor in the chicken salad is! The punch of flavor in Sassy Scotty, helped me to go into the physical location. Today, I walked in (around 12:35pm) and they were pretty busy. Other reviewers mentioned this place is hopping around lunch much time. The busy flow of things didn't take away from some superb customer service. The nice lady who waited on me, was super patient. I had it in my mind to enjoy a croissant and make it a trio. I sampled Dixie Chick, Lauryn's Lemon Basil, Cranberry Kelli, and Kickin' Kay Lynne. I will most definitely order Dixie Chick next time! The concept of this place is great but the execution is terrible. The original chicken salad is just a heap of mayo and shredded chicken, no flavor, no freshness, just yucky. And I bit down on a large very hard chunk of cartilage in mine. The sandwich bread was dry and bland, the crackers (which are meant to scoop up the chicken salad, I presume) were stale and fell apart instantly. The pimento cheese chicken salad was extremely salty. The broccoli salad was made with an extra sweet coleslaw sauce and crumbled bacon, odd flavors. And the fruit had passed it's prime! My husband and I had undesirable gas for many many hours afterwards. I don't find chicken salad hard to make, but this place somehow misses the mark, big time. read more
