So slow. She also forgot the sides with all our food and burned out sausages. When we ask a Loyd it she states she was out of sausages.

The portions are great the lobster, seafood and rice was amazing. Although it lacks any kind of ambiance the food made the trip worthwhile.

This is the fried chicken and shrimp salad. So yummy.

This is the fried chicken and shrimp salad. You can't get lobster with your groupon but you can get anything else. It's absolutely delicious. Try calling your order in. It's small and their only table is outside. Everyone was really nice and you could tell that a lot of people in this neighborhood like the food and owner. I felt like this was authentic southern fish. They also do a lunch special. Very reasonable. Plan for about a 20-25 min wait if you order on the spot. The owner makes everything from scratch.

This is definitely a place to come with at least four people so you can try a bunch of dishes…read more I would honestly be sad to come here just as a couple because then you don't get to try as many of the amazing dishes Elliott Astor has to offer. We started with the pull apart Bread that is absolutely a must get and delicious. The one thing is, it is quite large, so it is a good size for 4 to 5 people, it would be a bit overwhelming for only two hence why I say come with a group. We also got the chopped salad, which I thought was good, but not great. People rave about the Caesar salad, which last time I found to be just OK, but I would probably get the Caesar over the chopped. That's a personal preference. Then we got the vodka pasta and the black truffle gnocchi. The vodka pasta, again, is an absolute must get. I love Housemade pasta, and this one is cooked perfectly. The vodka sauce isn't spicy, and I hate spice. So this is one of my favorite dishes. I didn't like the gnocchi. I found it to be too cheesy and not pillowy enough. I appreciate the black truffles, but this is one that I would skip in the future. Then we got the dry aged prime strip, with broccolini, Yukon, mashed potato, and mushrooms. The mushrooms are still, my absolute favorite, I would absolutely get it every time. Yukon potatoes were delicious, but I could feel my arteries clogging while I ate it. It was so creamy and so buttery. The broccoli was good, but not something that I feel like I have to get. The steak was amazing. We got it medium rare, and I felt like it was cooked perfectly. I loved it. For dessert I got the amaretto cookie gelato. If you don't eat pork, all the desserts other than gelato and sorbet have a pork stabilizer in it, which is disappointing. The gelato was quite good though. For my drink, I got the Mezcal margarita I had last time. It is no longer in the menu. It was just OK this time, it would've been better with the salt rim, but it came without one. Next time I'll try another drink on their menu. Valet is $15 which is great because I've come here for the spa and parking is much more expensive if you're not going to Elliot Asher. This restaurant is beautiful and service is superb. Dinner will take a couple hours and Reservations do fill up so you should book them early. I would definitely recommend coming to eat here if you're looking for a nice night out.

Then you see the bar... dimly lit, and stretching all the way to the ceiling. Absolutely breathtaking. There were eleven of us girls dressed in black celebrating a birthday, and we started the night at the bar with drinks and photos before dinner. The staff sat us at the perfect long table, and Andrew and Brian took amazing care of us all evening. We shared the Focaccia Pull Apart -- warm, slightly sweet, cheesy, and honestly addictive. The Burrata with peaches, pickled mustard seeds, and pistachio was bright and fresh, and the beef tartare was another favorite. For dinner, I had the scallops, which were huge and roasted perfectly with citrus, cauliflower, and brown butter. Some of the girls shared the Radiatore alla Vodka, and that sauce was chef's kiss -- flavorful and so satisfying. But let me tell you... The Parmesan Fries with Black Truffle Aioli? I'm going back JUST for those. Cocktails were on point -- the girls loved the Elliott Aster Martini with its citrus kiss, and I had the mezcal espresso martini and the Summer Haze. Both were delicious. Beautiful place, amazing food, incredible night.

Ambiance was, it was a BEAUTIFUL, clean and very well maintained restaurant, including the rest rooms. Service was just as outstanding as the physical facility. EVERYONE we encountered was friendly, professional and said Hi! Unfortunately, their food was as 'on point' as the rest of the experience. We ordered the 'Roast Beef Sandwich' and the 'Avocado Shrimp Toast'. Ok, I'll start with the Roast Beef Sammy-Thick Cold Bread, not room temp, not toasted, but thick cold bread (of which I ate about 1/4 of it. Now the Roast Beef, cold (not a problem) but sliced just too thick so when I took a bite, I could not chew through it and the entire slab of slices pulled out of the sandwich and gave me a 'Chin Slap'! The Au Jus was spectacular! Literally French Onion Soup without the crouton or cheese. Overall, NOT a sandwich worth $18. The other meal was their'Avocado Shrimp Toast', ANOTHER HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT, ESPECIALLY for $18!! 2 small pieces of cold toasted bread, a THIN layer of avocado and ONE SHRIMP CUT IN 1/2 on each slice of bread. NOT A VALUE for $18. What made it worse was that my wife was NEVER offered or received a coffee refill. They DID constantly refill our waters and my Iced Tea. Service 4 Ambiance 5 Food 2 Overall 3

There are a few parking garages, but even those are a pain because people park like idiots. The parking situation isn't On Swann's fault, but it's an annoying factor. We had reservations well in advance, so we didn't have to worry about a wait. It was reasonably busy for a Saturday at brunch time. The decor and overall ambiance was classy but comfortable, which is great imo. Our server was nice and checked on us a good amount of times. The wait time between ordering our food and it coming to the table felt a bit lengthier than I would typically expect, but the food was delicious so it's hard to even complain about that. I got the short rib hash and a croissant and both items were wonderful. The croissant was flaky and buttery, it comes with a honey dip and butter on the side, would def get again. The short rib hash was also a menu item I would order again - the eggs were cooked perfectly, and I'd say I'm a little picky with how runny my eggs are. These were runny, but not TOO runny. The potatoes had a nice crisp to the outside but nice and soft on the inside, the short rib was so tender, so juicy, it was just a very well rounded, great tasting hash. This was my first time visiting On Swann for brunch, I'll be back for sure, but maybe on a weekday instead of the weekend since it seems to get pretty crowded in the Hyde Park Village area!

There was a great amount of creamer, and the fish was so fresh and not that weird fishy smell to it. The greens complemented and balanced out the fattiness of the salmon. We also got their brunch burger, which we ordered at medium rare. It's probably the first place I've ever served me an actual medium rare burger cooked correctly! The egg was nice and runny the bun was seasoned. I could've gone without the croissant bun. I think it got soggy and the flavor didn't quite fit. I was expecting a more buttery, flaky croissant rather I got a more sweet dough croissant. Otherwise, the other components were put together very well. The french fries are also cooked perfectly. Highly recommend. Then we ended the meal off with macadamia pancakes. The pancakes themselves were kind of flat but surprisingly very moist and very yummy. I wasn't expecting them to be moist because I have flat they were, but it was very good. The macadamia and the fruit combo on top was delicious. The passionfruit syrup was tangy and sour. My only feedback is to serve it with whipped cream or something to just relieved all the sourness that's on this plate. Otherwise very well executed. We'll definitely be back!

We were seated at a super small table so it made for an uncomfortable situation with so little real estate available. Also the place looks like it's converted from a garage or something with metal walls and roll up doors that made the sound bounce around. The service was nice. We were well taken care of but they seemed to be spread thin because getting refills and getting our check took a bit longer than expected. One ssue was that the menu was very different from what was online via Google. I should have gone to their website I guess, but several items were not available and the filet I was so excited for had a very different set of items. No Brie au gratin potatoes or braised rainbow chard, citrus gremolata and a fig chutney. Now, let me say that my filet was delicious. I loved the sauce and the asparagus was good but for me, the potatoes were super underwhelming. A nice sauce or something would have made them better. They just tasted bland, were really dry and lacked any flavor. My wife expected the lamb or pork chops, they were both not on the menu. She got fish and chips which she really enjoyed, so it was a win. The Asian wings were our appetizer and were delightful too. Now the only real negative for us was the noise. We got there at 5:30 and it was fine. But as more people came in, the sound bounced around so bad that it became almost unbearable for me. I wanted to go so bad because people laughing and talking made my head hurt. Would I go back? Probably not. I didn't enjoy how loud it was. The food was very good though, so perhaps takeout would be more my speed. We had a nice meal and my leftovers were delicious later that evening.
