There is just something so beautiful about the Chickie & Pete's experience. Not to mention - the experience on the ocean city board walk. The greatest part about Chickie & Pete's is the easy of ordering and speed. I definitely needed my crab fries craving satisfied and decided to order that. My order came out in about 2 minutes after ordering and was piping hot. Now..let's get to the food. The regular serving of the crab fries was definitely enough alone to keep me full. I would describe the fries as more crunchy than soft and were coated in delicious old bay flavor. Couldn't tell what types of cheese were used in the cheese sauce but it hard it's sharp tones and was really feeling delicious to complement the fries. We ordered a bucket of crabby fries and melted cheese. ($8). There are only a few seats on the side of the building to protect one from the seagulls. They really should upgrade the seating area with an awning and more seats. Also, when I asked for a glass of ice water, I was told they didn't give out water you had to buy it. Seriously? I just witnessed the counter girl give a guy a glass of water which I stated to her. She said she had to cause they had an arrangement with the golf course next door. Not a great location in the sense of items on the menu were unavailable on a summer weekend which for any business is the nail in the coffin. What we did have wasn't up to par. Soooo good!!! Had these 2 days in a row! A "small" is a huge cup with a creamy side of cheese sauce that's great for sharing but even better for hoarding all to yourself! The downside is that it's like $8 for the small and is pretty steep for fries, but if you're visiting and strolling along the boardwalk, this is a good snack. In comparison to the cost of other fries on the boardwalk, it tastes a bit better for a bit more. The first day i had them i think the guy just re-fried old fries so they were super crunchy and waayy overseasoned (which i don't really prefer), but for some strange reason i had the craving for it again and i'm glad i did because the other location on the boardwalk made them fresh and perfect and delicious!! read more

My server was put out the whole time...She never smiled -acted like it was a chore to wait on me.. I sat outside and it was around 4pm...not sure her name but horrible customer service skills.. a smile goes a long way.....her tip suffered greatly for it...I am an excellent tipper and always leave 20% plus tips -have never gave such a bad tip! Such a waste of money. Their famous "Crabfries" are NOT worth $8.50. If you put the word crab in the title, please have crab meat or even crab flavoring in it! I just don't get it. For this price, if you want to call them crab fries, throw some crab on there. Frozen tasting fries covered in way too much old bay seasoning, and yucky cheese sauce. Got them because I have heard so many times how great chickie and petes is...well, I am not impressed at all. There are many better options for food on the boardwalk, let alone a block or two inland. I will not be returning...no way. Wife and friends agree with my feelings 100%. I'm only giving a two star review because the fries were good and came out fast, otherwise it would be one star. I'm not one to leave reviews, but the service was so bad, and the workers were so rude that I just felt the need. The stand was run by a bunch of nasty kids who were incredibly rude to us. The boy rolled his eyes at us after we tried to order Mac and cheese and told us that they only served fries, despite having nearly ten items on their menu. We asked for our small fry, and they tossed it on the counter, and didn't say another word. We said thank you, and then one of the boys ran up to the receipt printer and ripped up all the receipts in front of us, throwing them all over the floor. Crab fries are quite salty, but pretty tasty, especially with either ketchup or their cheese sauce. Prices are fairly reasonable for being on the boardwalk, and their frozen strawberry daiquiri is good. We also got the frozen pina colada, which was not quite as good - pretty much totally coconut flavor without much pineapple in it. Also, maybe it's their policy, but when they made a little extra of the frozen drink, they insisted on throwing away the excess instead of giving us the rest. If the prices "reflect NJ sales tax 8.625%" which is also inaccurate due to the fact NJ's sales tax is 6.625% and ocean city it 6.63% how are you getting 8.625%. On top of the fact that the prices say for example "kettle corn $7.00" how am I getting charged $7.01 if the price already depicts the tax. I'm not complaining about 1¢ by any means, I'm complaining about the several inaccuracies listed in your pricing. Absolutely absurd considering how many boardwalk locations opting in to charge credit card fees. Now I have to carry change around on top of cash in order to not get ripped off by these business cons. Yesterday I got the Pretzel nuggets and the kettle corn which somehow also amounted to $14.01 even though both are listed at $5 for the nuggets and $7 for the kettle corn, the pretzels were stone cold as well as the cheese sauce. Silly me, because when I thought of "Crab Fries" I thought they had crab fries! Like crab sticks only deep fried and salted. But it was way better than I thought it was. They serve you a bucket of fries seasoned like a crab would normally be seasoned. Get the cheese side because it doesn't disappoint and it comes with a little hook that hangs on the bucket. Lobster roll was quite large & filling but coated in that Old Bay Seasoning which for me kills the lobster flavor. I'm not a big fan of salty spices but ironically I enjoyed the crab fries. But I think it had more to do with the cheese dip. The combo is addictive. Of course, I drank gallons of water later but it was good in the moment. I guess all the seasoning on the fries is supposed to resemble some crab flavor experience but I didn't taste it. There is a bland cheese sauce that accompanies it but this sauce actually works to counter-balance all the salt & spices on the fries. And all this comes at a price of &7.50 + tax. I was curious to see if the prices at the shore outposts of C&P's would be cheaper than at the stadiums. I initially thought it was cheaper, but then I looked more closely and realized that, no, it's all about the same (surprise, surprise). They get you down here by selling the cutlets and fries separately. Another shortcoming of the Shore C&P's is that the SECOND you walk out from under the awning, the seagulls are onto you. Do yourself a favor if you do go here and ask for a bag, which will hide your prize. I'm not going to comment on the fries and the chicken too heavily--it is exactly same quality as those sold in Philadelphia. There is still tons of Old Bay seasoning on the fries and the cheese sauce tastes the same. If you're homesick for Philly, by all means, get C&P's, but there are tons of other food places unique to the Shore that you can have, too. read more

I'm not necessarily a boardwalk fries kind of girl, but every once in a while I get the craving -- these are the best I've had! In the past I've gotten curly's fries with cheese which are good, but by the end, it's just a big goopy mess and we'd end up throwing away whatever hung out at the bottom. Chickie's and Pete's crabby fries come with a sauce that tastes so much better than the orange nacho cheese and it hangs on the side. Which means even the little fries at the bottom of the bucket get an even amount of cheese! The fries were crispy and had old bay seasoning on them (which is what I guess makes them crab fries?).
