The people who staff this store, especially Colleen and Nancy, are knowledgeable about the merchandise, friendly and helpful to the max. If I can't find my size, they will order it for me or search another store to see if its available. Let me first start off by saying, I am a huge fan of the Chico's brand. I have shopped at several of the locations and have always had a good experience. That is until I visited this particular location on 07/3/2017. From the time I walked through the door, the look I received from the elderly sales lady ( Colleen) was like I didn't belong in that store. I'm not sure if I looked like I was there to shoplift because I had a bag from another store in my hand , but she immediately asked if she could put by bag behind the register while I shopped. At first I didn't think anything of it and said yes, then proceeded to look around the store. Every time I picked up an item she was right there asking if she could put it behind the register, after the a couple of times of obliging her, I politely said no and proceeded to the check out, she was making me feel more and more uncomfortable and harassed ... I am a big fan of Chico's clothing. I received a gorgeous jacket for Christmas from my mother. Unfortunately it was two sizes too big. Being a busy professional, today was the first day I have had available to go out and do any of this type of errand. The jacket is in perfect condition with the tags still attached. I hoped to simply exchange it for a smaller size, as I genuinely love the item. I must have looked like a shoplifter to them or something, as was told if I could not produce a receipt that they would not return or exchange this item or issue store credit, in spite of telling them twice this was a gift. I figured no problem, I could have them pull up the purchase via my mother's information, which they did. At that point they informed me that I was five days past their 60 day return policy and they would not accept it. I was flabbergast. This was a CHRISTMAS gift. Today is Feb 1st. Most places count from Christmas Day for the holidays. They tried to tell me that Macy's and Dillard's would do the same. I was not going to argue with them, but I have never had trouble returning a gift, even well past 60 days, even without a receipt, to either of those stores. This definitely soured me on Chico's, particularly the one in Allen. I will not be back. read more

Condescending remark from a salesperson that a $139 jacket was "out of my price range" after just spending $350 in the store. I left the store, ordered the jacket online and picked it up at THE SOUTHLAKE STORE. I might be wearing a T-shirt and yoga pants in your store but my wallet is fully capable of purchasing anything in the store. Won't be back (and neither will my wallet). read more

There is no ZERO option because that is what sums up my experience not just at this Chico's at the Allen Watters Creek Shopping Center, but also at the Stonebriar Mall in Frisco, both in the DFW, Texas area. Both times the staff at both centers were rude, unhelpful, and unfriendly. At least the staff at the Stonebriar Mall location didn't bother to waste our time by just saying NO and dismissing the jeans as an outlet item. My mom received a pair of white denim jeans as a gift that were too big, so we went into Stonebriar first. They claimed the jeans (brand new) were an outlet item. I checked with the Allen outlet and they assured me they were a retail brand since they were "premium." I took my mom to the Allen Watters Creek retail location on Wednesday, 9/23, where one manager and one staff member assured us they'd let my mom exchange the gifted jeans for something else. They even brought us piles of other jeans in all kinds of sizes and colors to try on for over an hour. When we finally narrowed our selection down to a couple that we thought would possibly work out (we were going to buy another pair), the staff member pushed us off to the store manager, who suddenly decided NOT to honor her original promise to let us do the exchange! The manager changed her story completely from when we entered the store and spent an entire hour there. She LECTURED me and SNAPPED, asking "DO YOU EVEN WORK???" When I assured her YES I DO, she then made the assumption that I probably work at a company like Frito Lay (which I have never) and shouted, "WOULD YOU TAKE A BAG OF POTATO CHIPS BACK AFTER A YEAR???" What kind of nonsense logic is that??? She also gave me a feeling of both age and race discrimination with a look of disdain. When I asked for her name on my way out, she refused to give her full name and then shouted at me for mine!!! She had a serious problem with being in control. When I called customer service after this lousy experience, they promised me a district manager would call me either that same evening or first thing the next morning. More than four days have passed and I NEVER received any calls or emails. I have never been treated with so much disrespect at a retail store. I've not only WORKED in retail, but have been co-owner for many years. I have treated all of my customers, including the seriously rude ones, with utmost respect. Every unhappy customer who comes through my doors have left happy because I treated them with the same courtesy I expect. I can assure you the friend who gifted my mother with these jeans will no longer shop at Chico's and neither will my mom. Both have a very wide circle of friends and influence, and this story will be published in all the Asian magazines and anyone else who chooses to re-tweet and re-publish. read more
