A few years ago I purchased some women's clothing from their catalog/online and the quality was good (given the premium prices), delivery was in the expected time. Unfortunately, three months ago, I purchased three pieces of clothing that I had specifically selected for scheduled events. I ordered in plenty of time to receive the items well in advance. The items were each sent separately, each literally months past my order date. They never sent any emails or texts alerting me to a delay. I kept looking at my order online and seeing the expected ship date moved weeks into the future, over and over again. No communication to me at any point. I called customer service repeatedly. The first person told me there was a delay because they were moving to a different distribution warehouse. I complained about lack of communication and she said she would alert someone more senior. Of course nothing happened. After I returned the first two items, I didn't need the third which was a matching piece. It was already listed as delayed another month or more. I called customer service to cancel that order. He said he would cancel it. I said I want to ensure my card was credited. He kept saying they don't charge until it's shipped. Sure enough, today, weeks later, this last item that I had canceled shows up. Now I have to return it. There is a return fee of $9.95 deducted from the credit for each item - even though it was their fault. I will never purchase from them again.,

While my last review was several years ago and Winter focused, I recently shopped for some Summer, dressier work shoes, and I found exactly what I was searching for. My goal? Black patent, sling back, kitten heels. If you've ever came to the store with something very specific in mind, you could end up trying different stores before you find the right pair. Today it took me one visit and two aisles, so I was very pleased. My only dilemma was deciding which pair to get since there were several options I found. And, there was also a store-wide sale... Bonus! Thank you DSW for great variety, price and customer service.

Both are petite and both shop at Talbots since they have one of the best selections of petite-sized women's clothes around. When I tried to check-in, I realized that this location wasn't on Yelp, so I added them. (The manager was very happy I did that.) While the women shopped, I took a few pictures and posted them right away. For the few times I go clothes shopping with family, I know how hard it is to find petite clothing. This Talbots has one of the largest selection of Petites I've seen anywhere. Both found a number of things they liked. (And I have to admit, looked good.) We patronized, and found things; we paid (and got a $30 discount for joining their buying club). Then, it was off to dinner.

The gal that actually processed the return was helpful and very friendly (she gets the star). She tried to get the manager to understand the problem. The manager did not move, but stood against the wall with her arms crossed and said "we don't refund the shipping fee" (it was not pertaining to the shipping fee). The cashier was very apologetic and I said not to worry, I will speak to the customer service online. I have to say, I felt very judged by the manager. She was rude and dismissive. She had no desire to speak with me at all, much less try and help me with the discrepancy. I purchased two tops, so I'm not sure why she was so bothered. It may have been because the shoe box with the shoes I returned was beat up, broken and had a rubber band holding it together. However, they were shipped to me in that state and I was returning because they were too narrow. I likely would have shopped around more if she didn't make me feel so unwelcome. One other thing - the clothes at this store are not that affordable. The quality is not THAT good to afford such a rude employee. This visit to the store was a big disappointment for me, as I don't live close by.

Both my friend and I felt incredibly welcomed and a lack of judgement. It was a refreshing experience and I don't know why I was surprised. Maurices makes cute clothes for a variety of body types and sizes, and they recognize that everyone has a right to feel fabulous. I definitely can't wait to go back and help my friend walk out with a new wardrobe, lol.

After 1 minute in the door and 4 items already in my hands, I told Sara I think I hit the jackpot! It's been awhile since I've been to Maurice's, so I forgot how much I love their selection! Sara hooked me up with a dressing room so I could free up my arms for my items. Another girl took the next batch and I was soon on my way to the fitting room to try on the 10+ items I found. While I loved everything, I narrowed it down and went to checkout. I asked the girl about the current sale (better late than never, right?!) and although none of my items qualified, she hooked it up with a $50 off coupon. Thanks for a great experience!! I always stop here before a trip, especially a girls trip away. Soma wear is typically higher priced than what you might find in a TJ Maxx or Ross Store, but I return to Soma for the lasting quality and reliable fashion I have come to know here. There is also a Soma store at Woodfield Mall, but my favorite location is here at The Arboretum of South Barrington. The sales staff here are always helpful and friendly without being over-bearing or persistent. Be sure to check out the sales racks in back and join their mailing list to watch for rewards points and special coupons for even greater value. On my last visit, I spent around $60, but I had $35 in coupons. I also appreciate the good quality paper shopping bags Soma uses and often reuse, recycled or use them as gift bags.

I could not remember my size, so I ordered what I thought would fit. Every bra fit incorrectly. Not a big deal, I went to the store to exchange them. There was a woman being trained. She clearly was not ready to be on her own but they left her to take care of me for most of my experience. 1st she tried to tell me that I didn't purchase one of my bras there. (She didn't bother asking the associate that was training her, she just assumed because they didn't sell that particular bra in their store that it wasn't from Soma)The associate had to correct her. Instead of asking, because she had no clue, she proceeded to tell me that I could not take that particular bra back through the store, but that I needed ship it back and contact the company the way that way had purchased it. Again, the associate had to correct her. (The associate was in the back and I had to ask her to go and verify that I could not return it in the store) As I was trying on the bras they did have in stock, she took forever to find them. I love Soma bras but every single bra she gave me from one of their lines was misshapen, it looked like it was crushed. She not only made up answers instead of asking when she did not know, she had a slight attitude like I was inconveniencing her. Needless to say I returned 3 out of the 5 bras. I'm not going to pay good money for misshapen bras and bad service. I have not been back since and am still debating if I even want to go back and give it another try.

Called twice thinking I got disconnected still no answer so I go online and chat with customer service. They're telling me that my dress is not available. How can it not be available after I placed the order and gave them my credit card information and got charged. Still went back online. They still suck. This store's staff is 75% of the time helpful, kind and happy to assist. The other 25% of the time, it's like they would rather be anywhere but there working. The quality of their clothing has gone down hill and not just a little...I mean, we have gone from jeans that would last me for years to "I think I could get the same quality at Walmart!" bad. Their corporate customer service is an absolute joke. If you have ever dealt with these script-reading-couldn't-care-less-about-the-customer fools, you know what I'm talking about. Bottom line, it's hard to find clothes that fit just right or lay just perfectly for a plus size woman and Lane Bryant used to fulfill the need in this industry that was severely lacking but much like other industries, I imagine, the cost of materials has increased, so they find ways to cut back and at the cost of customers, no less. When Heidner Properties acquired the Arboretum of South Barrington in 2022, we have witnessed an uptick in the abundance of new events, decor, beautiful new restaurants, retail shops & many more special events for day and evening entertainment. It's such a beautiful mall to walk around in & we cannot wait to see the ongoing innovations that continue to grow and become more successful each year.
