I was just in Chicos located at Carmel Mountain (I'm African-American). Not customer service oriented. None of the three ladies acknowledgeme when I walked in. I had to ask for help and one ladie pointed me to the jean area. I spent 20 to 30 minutes looking for jeans and I had to ask for help all the time. My sister also visted the store on a different day and experience the same type of treatment. My sister and I came to the store a couple weeks ago and spend over $500 of purchases. The very next day, I received an offer for 20% off, of course, I ordered the same items i purchases in the store. Who does not want to save money? When my sister and I return our purchases, the salesperson wasn't very friendly to us compares to the day when we were shopping. She said she would have honor the 20% off, I didn't know that. I don't think I would shop here again as I don't want to be treated differently because I am returning items instead of purchasing. The two times I have been to this Chico's location - I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. However, since I am a quick shopper I was in and out in less than 10 minutes each time. On the bright side, the store is nicely organized and checking out was a breeze with no lines! read more

It is a very nice store in the heart of Carmel Mountain shopping mall, mostly catering women in the age range 50-65. The blouses are very nice and pretty fabrics and patterns, so even if I am younger, I like to get some pieces from this store from time to time. It is focused in classy ladies with a flair for big, chunky yet elegant jewelry and very airy blouses. What I like most is that they have constant sales in the accessories section, so I get jewelry as gifts for my friends from here when the prices are great. I would say they have a classy yet not conservative, serious style. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of my Mother, who used to like shopping here. However, the past FIVE times she has patronized the store, all of the clerks there have flat out ignored her while being openly friendly to other patrons. My Mother is a principal - she is successful, professional, welll-mannered, and is just as entitled to service as anyone else. Because she's the type of person that wants to give people the benefit of the doubt, she continued to go into the store, only to be met with the same dismissive behavior EVERY single time. This type of rude, discriminatory behavior is disgusting. The clerks there need to work on their customer service skills and realize that ALL customers are entitled to good service. Not only will I write a review to alert others to their behavior, but I will call the corporate office to make a formal complaint as well. This is 2013. We are not in the deep south. How dare you treat customers like this? Seems like a recurring theme in other reviews I'm reading. You lost out on the potential for a regular customer and don't deserve her business or anyone elses. read more

I was EXTREMELY disappointed with this store which I have been a loyal customer with for over 12 years!!! I bought two of the same pair of pants but in different colors and sizes for my daughter telling the clerk that I would be returning the one she didn't like. THe deal that day was 50% off your highest priced item when you spent $100. The pants were about $85 each so I also purchased a pair of earrings and sunglasses to bring the total to $100. When I returned a few days later with the unwanted pair of pants the clerk refused to give me a discount on the pair I kept. When the sale was rung up the discount was applied to the black pair (same style pant) and not the brown pair. I explained my situation that I had planned on returning one pair when I purchased them. She refused to give me the 50% discount. I was so disappointed that I had to pay full price for a pair of pants that I thought I was getting a 50% discount on. I will never again shop at CHICOS! BEWARE of any purchases you make which you may be returning...be perfectly certain that you know what you are getting into!!! read more

I live very close to the Chico's in Carmel Mountain and am getting married soon. My soon to be Mother In Law is in need a a certain top that I thought they may carry there, even though it is a bit pricey there. Me and my younger daughter (10) went in at 7:45 on a Thursday night and were very pleasantly surprized at the cool jewelry and the sale stuff, and did see several shirts right away she would have been able to chose from, so I was so excited. A petite woman with long brown hair asked if we needed help while the lady at the register stared at us the whole time like we were going to hold the place up or something! Ugh. Anyways, the nice lady assisted me in the right area and told me about their last day it was of a great sale. So I was thinking I could buy the blouse and jewelry for me and get the sale, and return if it didnt work out for her. So I was holding them up etc. and at 8:00 ON THE BLEEPING NOSE then lady from the register comes over, and says really loud, "OK ladies! Its time we close, so lets go!" and scoots us toward the door and opens it and sort of gestures to get out!!! OMG how RUDE!! If a customer is in a store at the last minute and about to pick something out, you stand at the door so no other customers come in, and then you wait a few minutes until they check out!! Wholly moley.. I was so embarrased for her! So I was like, geeeze I guess I will come back another time, and my daughter was standing outside the door w/the lady holding the door open for me as I stopped and took a last look at the blouse and my daughter went to come in to meet up w/me as I was walking toward the door and that lady totally put her arm out like she was holding back traffic!! I will NOT go back there to shop again, and will NOT let my soon to be MIL go there for anything. She needs some customer service lessons! ugh! read more

Yes they were a little too chatty at the register but one did help my mother out by providing a room and checking back with us occasionally. I think they must be trying harder now. Great location and great clothing , it does come with a price tag but it is worth it . The quality is great and if you have coupons it's much better deal then . I'm a loyal Chico's shopper and I love it when I go in and Kathleen is working. She is wonderful. I would not say the same for most of the other associates. Yesterday I had an experience that I've experienced a couple of times before. I was out and about doing my Thanksgiving shopping and ran in there to pick up an item that was on hold and to look for a pair of pants. I was not dressed to the nine's but I wasn't a slob. Do you think I could get anyone to help me??? NO! My feeling is they judge you by how your dressed and I hate to say it, but I also think they judge by your nationality. I called and complained to the corporate store today and I reached a lovely person named Toni. She apologized, read back about what I was complaining about and told me I'd be hearing from management. I love Chico's and shop in Temecula (when visiting my Mom), Fashion Valley and the outlet in Viejas. They are totally out of my way but worth it. In the future I'll be calling to see if Kathleen is in before I step foot again in this store. read more

I've shopped at this Chico's for many years. I love the clothes and LOVE the sales, too! Mostly though, I love some of the sales gals. It has changed in the last year or so, I'm sorry to say. It used to be "HI! How are you doing?!" A true community WELCOME! I heard the management changed so that explains the focus on sales versus the friendly and helpful attitude in the past. Sad to say, I don't go there first to find a great outfit now. If the friendly sales gals aren't there, I go in and then leave. I don't need a cold 'Welcome to Chico's" to brighten my day. Chico's has a new manager named Charmaine - and she is making a real difference! I had an online purchase to return. I called her with my dilemma - she made it happen without blinking an eye! And she remembered the whole situation the minute I walked in the store and said my name! Now that is service with a smile! I'm writing this review so that others know the women who work at the store in Carmel Mountain are amazing. I shopped there this morning and thought the store was busy for a Wednesday, and expected little help. I was shocked by the friendly service, and the ease in returning the items I bought online. Going by the Chico's online sizing chart, I bought sizes way too large. Judy, set me up in a fitting room, she was extremely attentive, and quite helpful in finding the right size and fit for me. I was astounded that she brought me a size and a half smaller in one style, and a one size down in another, and they fit perfectly. I'm so happy. Thank you again Judy! read more

I really like the styles at Chico's although it's a bit on the expensive side for what you get. I took my Mother there over the weekend and we spent a great deal of time looking at their merchandise. However, the sales people seemed to be more interested in other customers especially those who were well-dressed. I think their customer service depends on how you are dressed and how often you visit their store. I believe other stores give better service and have more reasonable prices. read more
