I usually shop online at Bath & Body Works, but since we were already in the Mira Mesa area after eating nearby, I decided to stop by the store to redeem my birthday reward. As soon as we walked in, an associate named Valerie (if I remember her name correctly) greeted us with a warm smile and asked what brought us into the store. When I mentioned that I was there for my birthday reward, she immediately helped me understand which items qualified and also shared some of the current sales and promotions. I really appreciated her recommendations and friendly attitude. In fact, everyone in the store seemed welcoming, cheerful, and genuinely happy to help customers. The positive atmosphere made the shopping experience even more enjoyable. Although I usually order online, this visit reminded me why shopping in-store can be so much fun. Being able to see, smell, and try the products in person makes a big difference, and the excellent customer service made the experience even better. Overall, I had a smooth and pleasant visit with no issues at all. The staff was friendly, the store was well-organized, and I left with a great impression. The WORST customer service ever!! Avoid at all costs if you can. Drove here with my baby and found out that the sale they were having on the soaps were only for people who have received the email for the sale. I saw the sale on FB and they had no mention of this. Secondly. They could not make any exceptions. If you sign up again it may take about a week to get their emails is what the manager told me. No where does it say "For Members only" . As long as you have the receipt". I did so we drove there. SERVICE - There were some customers ahead of me getting rung up by Roxanne and she was so friendly interacting with them. Seemed like she made them feel welcomed. It was my turn and she treated me the same. She was sooo nice! I told her I was the one that had called and she immediately knew what to do. She easily returned my candles and gave me cash back. This was such a change considering I was previously at the other location who did not know what to do. I only ever come for last minute gifts. I came in during the semi annual sale and a lot of staff was not knowledgeable about what is and isn't on sale, including what seemed to be the manager/shift lead or whatever. There's a sweet girl (I think she's Filipino) that's super nice and knows the products well. I wish I caught her name and I wish she was the one that rung me up instead. My problem is with Michelle E or Jennifer E, i forgot her first name but it's one or the other. She acts like ringing you up is a waste of her time. She's not friendly at all and did not smile at all, not even to the customers before me. It's like her face is a permanent glare. I received a call from BBW Corporate in response to an email I sent complaining about how my return was handled. The representative confirmed that since I had my original shipping invoice, I indeed SHOULD have been refunded money back to my card, and not given a store credit pass. She offered to devalue the store credit pass and redirect the $$ to my bank. Unfortunately I didn't anticipate a CS response so I took it as a loss, and had already given the pass to a coworker. Regardless she sent me another store credit to use for gifting etc. (I understand the company reps can't really do anything else so the intention was still nice of her). Love this place. I'm a recent fan of the foam hand soaps, 3 wick candles, plug-ins and room sprays. I donno what it is about the soap, but it feels like the softest, most luxurious, and gentle soap I've ever used! No exaggeration. I came in looking for an air freshener refill for my car, and left with 3 extra ones... This Bath and Body Works may not be as spacious as some of the other ones I've been to with my gal, and signage could definitely use some work (for example, it's not apparent that the "buy 3, get 1 free" sale on the air fresheners had to be for items of the same price), but I haven't been disappointed with the products offered. Okay, maybe the mens' product line, which is a little TOO strong - which is why I go with the regular scented ones. They may not be marketed to me, but I love their lotions and hand sanitizers! This is like every other Bath & Body Works. The staff is particularly helpful and friendly. I like that this parking lot usually has a lot of parking and it is right next to the Panera so you can grab a bite to eat before or after you buy your lotions. I really like their wallflowers but the plug-ins break really easily. I've gone through 4 already in the last year and am disappointed in the quality of the plug-ins. It's a waste of money so I'm cautioning you to not get those. Otherwise, all the other products are so deliciously smelling! read more

Can a girl really own too much lotion or too many candles? The answer is no. And that's why Bath & Body Works exists. There's always a sale, which is probably the reason most of my nightstand drawers are filled with an assortment of lotions. The only downside is that sales get REALLY picked over, so if you're late to the game your options are much more limited. I'm really loving their summer fragrances. A lot of fruity/coconut options, and coconut is one of my favorite scents. It's not a summer scent but I decided to try a cinnamon spiced vanilla candle, and I'm absolutely in love. I went to this store yesterday for their $3.25 lotion sale. There was a line outside but Alicia was so accommodating, offering everyone water bottles and umbrellas. The line moved fast and Alicia was eager to help us about the Bath & Body Works app and where the lotions we wanted were located. Inside, everyone was also super friendly and helpful. Carla was super helpful!!! I came in looking for Hawaiian type scents and I found their new beachy scents line but they didn't have the ones I wanted in a hand sanitizer. So she came up to me asked me if I needed help and she suggested hand santizer that smelled really close to what I wanted! She was also super helpful in suggesting that she check in the back for me for the Ocean Cologne that was sold out up front! I used to work here awhile ago. I had just moved to SD and needed something in between jobs. Everything was fine. I loved, LOVED, going to work. How many people get to say they genuinely loved going to work?? I was PT so I would only get a few shifts a week but I had made it clear to all the managers that I wouldn't mind picking up extra shifts if someone called in for whatever reason. Fast forward a couple months, everything is still going good and I'm still picking up 4-5 extra shifts a week. And we get a new manager. Ugh, Alexis. At first, I really did like her. She seemed cool, kinda knew her stuff and seemed like she'd be okay to work with. Then she started getting cocky and arrogant. The, "I'm a big, bad manager and what I say goes!" bull crap. Yeah, she's one of those! Exciting! Very fun to work with! She started micromanaging everyone. I'd be stocking shelves how one of my other managers told me to and she'd come in right behind that manager and tell me I was stocking the shelf wrong. She told me I "unpacked boxes wrong" Not sure what that means but there's really no "wrong" way to unpack a box, Alexis. She told me I needed to "keep asking the customers questions till they firmly tell you they don't need help". This one threw me for a loop. In orientation, we were told to ask the customer two, maybe three questions. If they're interacting in the convo, keep talking. If they seem uninterested, back off and come back later. Don't hound the customers. I was packing a shelf in the cashier room. A guy comes in, I immediately go and see if I can help. He says he's fine and just looking. Five minutes later she comes up to me, yelling and saying I need to quit focusing on stocking the shelves and focus more on the customers because apparently that customer had interrupted whatever was so important on her phone to ask her a question and I should've known to intervene. Wow, Alexis, wow. Let's keep in mind that I was excited coming to work and at this point I started sending any call I got from any of my managers straight to voicemail because I didn't wanna work with her more than I had too. About 2-3 weeks go by. It's Christmas time. My very favorite time of year, especially when working at BNB! I love our winter line and I was so excited to see the new stuff! Too bad Alexis' mood killed that as well. I was working a pretty long shift right after xmas. Everyone was getting the post xmas day sales due to xmas being over(B3G3 travel size and B2G2 full size). Line out the door busy. I was on the register for almost 7 hours straight. Had not had the chance to hop off even for a bathroom break. Every 20-30 minutes or so, Alexis would come up and tell me I needed to be faster. OkAy. My average time of bagging our large sized bags was 2-3 minutes depending on how many products. This customer got a lot (30-40 full size items). I was already working crazy fast then she has the nerve to say that. Then, I'm onto the payment part of the transaction. The customer asks what the deal of the day is. I tell her that she did the B2G2 deal. She starts yelling at me saying she was supposed to get the B3G3. She got all full sized items so she got the B2G2 deal. Tried explaining that, she wasn't listening. She started complaining in Spanish. She pays, she demands I call up a manager. Here we go. I call up a manager, just my luck it's Alexis. The customer drags Alexis away, saying that I'm a horrible person, that I need to get in trouble, blah blah blah. Alexis comes back steaming, I handled that situation as best I could with 3 other people trying to talk in my ear at once. Alexis, during COVID, gets 3 inches away from my face and starts yelling at me. In front of 20 customers in line and 6 other brand reps behind the counter. Everyone is listening to her scream at me. Once she's finished I try to tell her what happened and she actually had the audacity to put her hand in my face and say, "No! You WERE being rude. That's the second customer to complain about you!" and storms off. I'm not havin that, try again. So, I go to the main manager. Alexis' manager:) and tell her exactly what happened. MM has no knowledge of any complaints against me and she tells me I handled it as best I could. An hour later Alexis comes back offering help with my "tone" and trying to relate to me by claiming she also has a "firm and misleading voice". I was tired of it so I cut her off, made sure I used my "rude tone" and told her exactly what happened with the customer and how I handled it, walked out before she could reply. That night started looking for new jobs. Next day called corporate to open a claim. I'm not gonna be walked on, screamed at and not listened to at my workplace. Can you spell hostile work environment?? Too bad they chose a mediocre manager. I was actually wanting to have a long future with that store. Would no advise to work at this store, CM location is treating me way better. Managers are nice here! read more

Dang it. Their sales are a hard one to give up. Buy 2 get 1 Free or buy 3 and get 3 free all mixed and match items. GAHHHH! How can I say no to that. Especially with their Hawaii line out, I swear I could of gotten the whole set of Kauai lei flower scent. However I didn't and I did get something for the hubby that was kind of neutral though he does love the strawberry smelling soap. Out of all the deliciously smelly fruit ones, the black cherry merlot was a surprise scent for me. Bold yet romantic...my friend's instant reaction was "ohhh...it smells of sex." My friend is weird. The ladies at the store were really helpful and even at the counter after I was rung up, she told me about a discount that I could look up on my phone. She was so patient with me as my phone took forever to load up the discount but it was all worth it! it shaved off $20 of my total bill. I did do a happy "I saved money" dance. It's consistant. Ladies love it. Almost always a sale or a coupon going on. They had a B3G3 free sale just before Christmas. It was perect to pick up some items for a gift. I ended up spending $100 here including gift boxes/bags for 8 people. The smell can be over powering here with all of the fragrances jockeying for space. The signage here sucks. Sales were confusing. In TWO attempts to make a purchase her in one hour both an employee and a sign told me a set of Items were on sale. When I brought it to the register on both instances it rang as full price. Instead of changing the sign, they apologized. I still prefer this stand alone location to the uber crowded and cramped mall versions! read more

I come to B&BW about once, maybe twice a year. I buy shower gel and cologne. Maybe if I'm feeling crazy I'll grab a body lotion too, but I prefer to just stock up on shower gel and pretend this store doesn't exist for another 11 months. I'm such an old timer that all my favorite fragrances were discontinued years ago, but they still come out with some decent ones that I'm willing to exchange money for. This location is much smaller than others I've visited and seems to have much less selection, but it's still pretty good and I find plenty of what I'm looking for. Everything is stupidly overpriced in my opinion so you have to rely on the sales. 12 bucks for body wash? Yeah right. Stock up during the sales and you're golden. Employees are always friendly in that obnoxious way their corporate office tells them to be, but it's still better than employees who are flat-out rude. If you can, shop early on a weekday to get in and get out fast. The parking lot is always chaotic but at 11 am on a weekday you're really only competing with Panera so it's fairly easy even for a cranky introvert such as me. I go there so often now that the staff know me and greet me like I am their childhood friend. Tanya is the best employee they have. She remembers everyone and is super friendly and helpful. Their manager, Charmane, and associates Raeann and Janelle are all wonderful. There are always great email offers or coupons available. They also always have some new fragrance out that you can buy in travel sizes. Which is perfect for me as I travel a lot and love to carry those lotions in my purse. Alright! Hands down! Best place to get body lotions & body wash & body spray in this shopping center. Okay, this place is a franchise, we all know Bath & Body Works, they're all over California, or at least we should! If you have never been to one of these stores, and you are a female, and you like to smell good, you need to get your body over there! They are trained to be very customer service oriented. The moment you walk in you are greeted and asked if you need help finding anything (they ask because they have such an overwhelmingly large assortment of scents and scent categories that you'd just be in there forever). Anyhow, the girls at this particular shop are extra fun and nice, and helpful. Not pushy at all. They will suggest 'deals' and 'sales' they will also ask you what kinds of scents you like and suggest similar scents that have the same undertones in fragrance. I had a great time in there, because they totally pamper you. They will even take you to the sink (as all employees in the store are trained to do) and they will scrub your hand with one of their products, washing it, putting lotion on it and spray and letting you experience the different scent sets. After you leave, you are smiling, your hands smell great and you will leave with a few lotions, or body washes, and also a feeling of having been really 'paid attention to' which you do not get in most other stores. This store and all Bath & Body Works stores are really wonderful! Adore these stores! Hint: If you are not normally a 'scent' type person, and scents make you feel dizzy, go in and tell them that, and just let them know what you might want. For example; there is a line for 'relaxation' and 'de-stressing' which is in an aromatherapy area. Try the green Eucalyptus & Mint relaxation line, those are absolutely fantastic and addicting! My favorite scents are all the Moonlight series types... they're warm and mysterious and musky... Those and anything that smells like cotton candy! Mmmmmm! A great place to get gifts for teen girls!
