My favorite sushi spot!!! I usually rotate getting the spicy tuna crunch roll, philly roll, and/or shrimp tempura roll, but I do love to try some of the speciality rolls as well (Brooklyn, Kirin, etc). They deliver quickly, prices are SO good, and quality is super consistent. I'm so glad this place is close to my house, I've tried every sushi spot in Flatbush and this is the one. I hope they stay in business forever, lol. Definitely recommend!

This place has been around for a long time in the hood & at this point, almost borders on historical. When almost no one delivered back in the day, they did, & had a wide delivery radius. Given the aforementioned, we got delivery from here ALOT. We are not super close by, And - we're talking about raw fish here. We still got it often. We eventually burned out on it. & it's been over 10 years since I had their food. I was in a rush to eat & was passing by so stopped in - 1st time ever being inside. They are not price gouging like many places now, & eat-in, you are getting the sashimi straight from the sushi chef. They also have SUPER fresh Sapporo on draught. They also have very competitive prices for their cocktails. In essence, they love their customers & want their people to enjoy themselves. There were multiple tables of big groups all loud & happy with tons of amazing looking food. I can't believe I have never stepped foot inside & eaten in. They are now tied w/ Wheelers as my fav South Brooklyn restaurant,

This place is unsanitary. I always ordered on Uber Eats so I never knew what inside looks like but there were signs that quality control was an issue. The last straw was on my last order the salad they sent me had a dead roach smooshed inside the container. Did not realize until after I ate some of my food. The spicy yellowtail was spoiled as well. I'm disgusted and disappointed.

Chikurin's premises had a nice traditional and sedate decor. The waitress was friendly and understood (nearly) all we said. We started with a pleasant Miso Soup (priced at a surprisingly low $2). We then had a decent Avocado Sushi Roll (for an affordable $4.50). The roll could have been colder, but it was quickly freshly made. The "Tokyo Chicken" was quite good (although we don't know what differentiates it from teriyaki chicken). It came over a bed of cabbage as well as some vegetables and a generous portion of rice. I ordered Yosenabe "Hot Pot", which was not the kind of hot pot I was expecting. I was expecting "hot pot" to mean a bowl of boiling broth or oil (over a flame) with raw ingredients to add from a side plate, What we got was an unusually large bowl of Udon noodles in broth with a hodgepodge of ingredients already inside, including crab style fish, chicken, and mushrooms. Jumbo Shrimp Tempura also came included with the "Hot Pot", both of which were delicious. We were so full, we skipped dessert and took half the food home. Overall, it was a positive experience --and quite affordable.

Rock Shrimp and Miami Special Rolls (16 pieces, two items in cart). I placed order this Thursday, August 1st, 2024. The first dish is spicy by itself, and Miami rolls have seaweed inside. The white net in the picture with the Rock Shrimps is edible/eatable, actually. How much in total, you are going to see you on the receipt (the delivery guy forgot about my $5 tips, and didn't come back, I did call, however).

I stooped by here on a Wednesday night as this place used to be very popular years ago. Upon entering you get a fishy smell which I already did not like. I know this place serves sushi but the odor of fish is not really a good sign. We sat down and someone came to take my order after 5 min which was pretty decent. I got the chicken katsu with their soup, the fried dumpling appetizer and a combo fried rice. the food took some time to come out but it wasn't such a long time. upon receiving it I was disappointed with the taste of the food. the fried dumplings were the best out of everything ordered and the food was edible but the taste felt different than what I am used to at other locations. the chicken katsu was missing flavor in the crust/batter so it tasted a bit bland to me. the combo fried rice had an odd taste that I only enjoyed the shrimp on it and not the pork or chicken mixed into it.

I am so happy this place does delivery near me. I have just been so disappointed with the Japanese places near me that I just had to have high hopes for this place and I wasn't disappointed. My friend and I split a lunch chicken Katsu and a three roll lunch (pick tuna crunch, California roll and a chicken tempura roll). I thought the katsu was fried perfectly! I kind of wish the lunch box was a little more special as it was very basic but tasty. The sushi all tasted fresh, the tuna was fresh, no weird taste or smell. The only thing I didn't like with the sushi was that there was mayo on the chicken tempura roll.....never heard of that before and it was a little off putting. Overall, this will be my new local spot.

First time ordering takeout from this Japanese restaurant and I must say.. I'm pretty impressed. I've tried the other Chikurin chain in Brooklyn (Bensonhurst) and I was disappointed but this place is awesome. There's a perfect proportion of rice to vinegar and it's neatly presented without adding additional sauce to it. I ordered shrimp tempura, crabstick, tamago, and ebi sushi. Will definitely come back as a regular.

We always get take out after dining in. Look at the giant spicy salmon sushi.

This is my go-to sushi spot in Brooklyn. We drive here from Queens at times if we want good quality, nice service and fresh sushi. Service is fantastic. The servers know their regulars and we always feel welcomed here, even if we haven't been here in a while. It is stroller friendly and they are very accomodating with table requests, granted that it's not busy. Their menu continues to grow and recently had a lot of new special rolls added. My favorite here is the spicy salmon sushi. I believe it is $1.50 per piece. They load it up and it is one giant sushi. Five of these plus one roll and I'm good for lunch. Their rolls are always filled with fish and they don't cheap out. Good portion size, very little rice and plenty of fish. They also don't cheap out with the avocado for any of the rolls that come with it. Their ice cream is one of the smoothest and creamiest I've had at Japanese restaurants. The worst is when you try to scoop or bite and it's still icy or too hard. Chikurin's is easy to dig into, great temperature, texture and consistency. Whichever vendor they use for ice cream is on point. You can find street parking easily. Although, this restaurant can be tough to spot. While it is on a corner, there are no windows so look for an odd looking restaurant on the corner.

A quality and cheap sushi spot. The sushi I usually get from here is the salmon rolls, spicy tuna, and spicy salmon and the total never surpasses $15. The taste is good but not the best you have ever had. Service can be a little slow for the takeout. The restaurant offers a full bar.

This place is not what it used to be. Prior to There renovation they were good. I went there today the service is good but we asked for noodles something that we can feed our baby and the waitress recommended something and we told her its for the baby and what it ended up being is a large soup with chicken, noodles and fake seafood yuk!!!! The sushi rolls; They have a lot of special rolls on there menu when you actually try them they are not special at all. I would recommend sushi spots on Emmons avenue instead. Also They brought everything out at once the appetizers and hot entrees and sushi. The food is not fresh as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

My neighborhood Japanese spot! I live nearby, so always prefer to walk over. I simply love these guys. I think I've order close to every roll and they are all great. Fresh and amazing presentation, plus the amazing prices. They have bottles of the best plum wine at $15! I think I visit weekly now, and I have yet to have any negative experience. read more

Just tried to call to place an order for pick up. I asked one question prior to placing my order and received the RUDEST response EVER. Honestly screw this place, there's better sushi in the area. YOUR STAFF IS FU*KING RUDE! They need to change their attitude. I would give zero stars if I could. F you guys. I'll make sure to let my friends know NOT to take their business here. Don't confuse with the Chikurin locations in Sheepshead Bay and on Quentin Road, which are my go-to sushi places and frequented my boyfriend and me on an all-to-regular basis.This one is horrible. The service people are rude and an Alaskan roll with smoked salmon? Seriously?!? That's not what an Alaskan Roll is. Shouldn't have to ask for fresh salmon. Sorry! read more

This place is always a reliable spot whenever im visiting my girlfriend in brooklyn. the sushi is cheap, cheap, cheap and actually very good. they offer a wide variety of sushi and other dishes. the passion fruit slush is really good, try the garden salad with creamy dressing, instead of ginger dressing, pork gyoza is good, i love the kani salad, get some spicy mayo on the side and some plum wine and your set....love this place!!!! read more

If I could select 0 stars for this restaurant I would. To start off their dishes were so dirty I asked them to change my plate three time and each dish had snot like stains. Eewww. Next they got my order completely wrong and all the rolls came served to me as soggy as balls. And the waitress thought she had to remind me not to come back priceless. read more

I've eaten sushi and sashimi here a few times over the years and found it to be good for the price. Service likewise was average as was the saki. Considering the reasonable prices - 3.5. A-OK but don't expect nirvana! read more

If you are somewhere in midwood, Brooklyn and you are craving sushi, check out chikurin. It's really delicious and is definitely my go to sushi place here in Midwood, Brooklyn. Make sure to try out the Kano tempura roll because that's my favorite roll. It's delicious. I also get the black widow roll and the eel cream cheese roll. It's so good. Check it out if you want sushi. read more

So me and my fiancé went there and asked for a booth all the booths were full except for the larger ones. They told us the Botha were for a party of 5 or more while their was another couple sitting at the same exact booth we were asking for, and I pointed that out to the waiter and he stuck to his word saying he can only sit a party of 5 or more there. I asked to see a manager, and obviously none was there, horrible service will not be visiting again read more

This place is just awesome! It's my favorite sushi place in Bensonhurst. There's a ton of different types of sushi rolls to choose from, lots of rolls that are 50% off making it $2.50, a great sit-down place with a nice ambiance, and the food is delicious!!! I usually get their rolls, sushi and sashimi pieces ($1-$1.25 each), but friends have gotten their bento boxes and those are amazing too. If you haven't tried it yet, check it out for yourself! read more

This particular Chikurin happens to be the closest where I live now, so I will go with friends if we don't feel like cooking or got stuck at work late. I found the one on Kings Highway, which isn't terribly far, to be better - food and ambiance-wise. They have great sushi, and their fried rice is also pretty good, though not really worth the price (Ten bucks. For fried rice.) The staff is always friendly, and my take-out food is always right on time, so that's a big plus for reliability. read more

There are a few Chikurins in Brooklyn. This one on Ocean Ave is our favorite. It's very specious with private booths. Waiter and super friendly and tolerable to children. Menu is great! Lot of special rolls. Highly recommend this place. read more

They no longer serve HALF OFF. I repeat NO MORE 50%OFF. This changed happened after they closed for a bit and reopened in Sept. Their other Quentin road still has half off (for now). This was my fav spot but I won't be coming back anymore as they removed the incentive that set them apart from other sushi restaurants. read more

Their delivery is timely and the prices are about what you'd expect for sushi in the area, but the food itself is completely inedible. I decided to try them instead of my usual sushi restaurant (Kumo) and their sushi was rancid. You could tell from just looking at it that it just wasn't fresh - it looked like it had been sitting out for days and I couldn't even attempt to eat it. I see that this sentiment about the freshness of their food is echoed in several other reviews, so I doubt this problem has been rectified as of recently. read more

The service staff were awkward, the food taste and quality was poor, and we didn't feel so great after our meal. I had to down some ginger ale from a local grocery store to quell my nausea. The restaurant has good aesthetics and is in a great location, but I unfortunately will not be coming here again. read more

Absolutely astonished!!!! I have been in BK for about 4 months now and have yet to find a good sushi place that I felt comfortable with to try. I read all of the reviews on Yelp and read that they renovated and saw the new pictures and decided to give it a try. The menu was true to the reviews! $2.50 for an entire roll with 6 pieces for MULTIPLE classic rolls and special rolls for under $10!! Their sashimi pieces are $1.10 per piece which is unheard of in my experience for the quality that I received! I am always very weary of sashimi given that it's not as fresh and you end up paying an arm and a leg for one piece. I was incredibly impressed with how large this place is, the quality of the food, and the ambiance is fantastic!!!! I will DEFINITELY be back here. This restaurant is definitely a new go-to spot for us! The fact that it's walking distance from my apartment is just icing on the cake!!! Can't wait to come on a weekend night! read more

I ordered some sushi from here about two hours ago for delivery and it just came thirty minutes ago. About over an hour in, I called them and asked what was taking so long and the woman said they would be here soon. Let's put aside the fact that I live 7 minutes by car away from them. Then I put my phone aside for about 20 minutes to charge and I come back to get it and I see some missed calls from them. I call them back and the man is UNBELIEVABLY RUDE and asks why I didn't answer and that he was waiting. And you'd wonder why he didn't ring my doorbell or something, right? IT IS BECAUSE HE GOT THE APT NUMBER WRONG. So not only were they extremely late, they had the wrong apartment number, LEFT, and were incredibly rude. Never order delivery form here, they are always late and are not even shameful of it. Enough is enough. read more

I ate there twice and both times were disappointing... I'm sorry, I love sushi but do not need to smell fish as I walk into a restaurant. As you walk in, there is a strong stench. Fresh fish does not have that type of odor. read more

Worst customer service /Take Out Waited over 90 minutes for delivery. Every time I would call they would say in a few minutes it will be there. The lady who took our order could not care less. I was left with two starving Kids at home. All this and we live a few blocks away. Delivery never showed up read more

We came here on a Friday night as a group of 5 ladies. They did not have a table for us, so we waited by the bar. They do not have a bartender, and nobody was taking our order for drinks. We had to ask twice for a waiter to make a drink order. About 15 minutes later, we ordered two Zombies and one strawberry margarita. Zombie cocktail tasted like a cough syrup. Strawberry margarita was not strong, sour, okay in general. Then we got to the table, we waited another 10 min for the waiter to take our order. We ordered sushi and sashimi patter along with other rolls. The white fish from the sashimi platter tasted old and not fresh. The salmon and tuna were okay. The service was pretty slow during the night, however maybe bc it was a Friday. Other rolls tasted good and we got one complimentary roll from the chef. Overall I do not think we will come again because of the slow service and some fish is not fresh. The location In Sheepshead Bay is much better. read more

Their food is delicious and innovative for Japanese cuisine, and the service is always fast and prompt. I love the Shumai and their Chicken Maki, but they put it on top of paper doilies, and it sticks to the food which is a huge hassle. Their raw fish is always top notch, but the smoked salmon is way too salty to constitute edible. Other than those tiny issues, it's a great restaurant for take out! read more

Excellent quality and low price! They gave less rice and more stuff inside which I like the most. I have been order from ordering from this price at least once a week. It's very yummy and fresh. I would highly recommend to order from this price. The delivery takes 40 mins, so order it earlier before you get hungry lol read more

Always go by this place, and from the outside it looks sketchy and who knows . There are no windows and the building is mostly baby blue painted brick and a display case outside with a few pictures. We decided to come here and give it a try since it's in the neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor and the size of the place. It was very nice and had some cute booths for couples. The menu is enormous. It took us awhile to go through the whole thing . The sushi was good , and some are pretty creative. Some are the norm u would find at other Japanese restaurants. I wasn't in the mood for sushi much, so I ordered the tempura udon. It was so delicious and very mushroomy!! Service was not bad for an Asian restaurant. They gave me an obviously dirty cup - minus a star for that. They gave us 3 scoops for complimentary ice cream which was nice. It was pretty creamy green tea, chocolate , and vanilla ice cream. Guess appearances are deceiving. Give it a try! read more

We started with Beef Carpaccio that was a bit too cooked for my liking, and Tuna Tataki likely drowned a painful death in the too-sweet miso-nut sauce. The Soft Shell Crab was pretty good, but I could've used more than six tiny legs. My Katsu Curry featured cute, sausage-shaped cutlets, but most of the dish was just sticky rice and gravy that I could've made myself. In attempt to avoid feeling feverish, I also got Yuzu Shiso Spritzer to wash everything down. It was fine, but if I hadn't desperately needed more ice than the staff wanted to give, I wouldn't have bothered ordering this. Not worth the sweat or the schlep.

Always go by this place, and from the outside it looks sketchy and who knows . There are no windows and the building is mostly baby blue painted brick and a display case outside with a few pictures. What I liked: Great value for price in terms of food portion; Food was delivered quickly What I did not like: The entree was way too salty... I ordered the Salmon; and the Edamame didn't taste fresh Conclusion: If the food was not salty, I would have given them 4 stars. I've eaten at many sushi places in Brooklyn, but Chikurin is my new FAVORITE spot! I never really had a favorite sushi joint, I just bounced around from restaurant to restaurant, trying new places. Then one night my boyfriend introduced me to Chikurin and I fell in love. My favorite food on the menu is the chicken teriyaki bento box, very good. The rolls are very good too, I LOVE their Philadelphia and their Spicy Yellow tail roll. Not to mention they have great cocktails at reasonable prices! The food is ok, really nothing special, tastes like any other sushi roll I've had in the past. The service however is horrible! Not only do they dote on you, and take your plate away the second you put your chopsticks down, making you feel like they just want you out of there, they chase after you if you don't leave a 15% or greater tip, and will not let you leave. I understand that a waiter's salary consists mostly of tips, but if you're extremely rude and make me feel unwelcome, I'm not gonna leave you a 20% tip. like this place and especially Ave M & Ocean Ave, Bk.This is our go-to takeout sushi place, which is great since their delivery zone is way huge in comparison to some of the other local spots. Their food is cheaper than some other places in the Midwood/Ditmas Park extended area, and the quality of the sushi is excellent for that price. I got the teryaki beef, which was good, but I didnt care for the salad nor the miso soup. I love going to this establishment because of the kindness of the workers, the cleanliness, and of course how great the meals taste. I used to go here all the time, I live very close by and it was convenient for delivery as well. Last three times (was hoping third time would be a charm) the sushi was just not good. I don't know what it was about it but it just tasted different and bland! Not sure if they changed management or what happened but I am extremely disappointed! read more

The food is great here. Drinks are very well priced with mixed drinks being only 6 bucks. Customer service is always top notch.
