Food was tasty, chimichangas could of had more meat. Server was accommodating and provided extra sauces.

Located in a small strip mall in Winter Springs, Chilangos is celebrating their 10yr anniversary and it's no surprise why. This mom and pop is serving authentic mexican food paired with the personal service you don't get in the higher end restaurants. When you walk in Chilangos it's like you're walking into Mexico City. The colorful walls, pictures, art work and even the telenovela on the television indicates this is the real deal. The man who took our order was very polite and patient as we scanned the menu. Everything looked appetizing, but I settled on chips and salsa, a beef gordita and la mula. Then it was time for my BF to order. This made for a good laugh. He ordered the hawaiian torta and a side of rice. We went to pay and were told we pay after the meal, which surprised me. The chips were brought out immediately and are made in house. There is a self service salsa bar to accompany the chips. The red salsa has a slight kick and is sweet. The green salsa is mild and somewhat flavorless. I don't know if this is done regularly, but the same man who took our order also makes the food. I can see this being an issue with the lunch/dinner rush. The food takes a bit to come out because everything is fresh. We didn't mind one bit. We took the time scanning the restaurant walls talking about the history of Mexico City. The beef gordita was loaded with toppings. I love queso fresca and it was piled high, but the beef was a little dry. I added the green salsa on it to try and offset the dry meat. The chorizo on the la mula was seasoned perfectly, but the steak was over cooked. I did enjoy the corn tortillas. The side of rice was bland. The hawaiian torta was the star of the show. I have to admit, I was a bit skeptical when he ordered this. Like who goes here to order a sandwich, but boy was I wrong. The flavors went together perfectly and I felt like I had be missing out on something my whole life. We may come back to check out their specials, but I'll be ordering something else.

That's a dinner plate with a tostada. Lots of beef.

What a great value - if you're hungry and want tasty food, this is the place. Today was my first visit and I got take-out for two. Tostada, 2 rolled tacos and enchiladas. Just the tostada was a filling and tasty lunch, with a lot of steak. That's $3.50 for a filling, delicious lunch. This will be my new go-to Mexican restaurant.

Traditional Mexican cuisine at a good price. Restaurant is family run, and everyone is super friendly. Would definitely return.

The food is amazing. Great prices especially if you pick a couple different things. Owners are super nice and helpful and always a pleasure to talk too. We just recently discovered Chilangos but it's our new favorite place.

I've been here a few times in recent weeks and it's very good! The building itself is nondescript; I even had to call my first time there because I couldn't find it. It's in a rundown strip mall and all it says on the building is "Mexican Food." Inside is tiny, 4 tables and a small counter with a couple of bar stools. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The food has been solidly good. The queso is amazing, the tacos are all good (yay for corn tortillas), the gorditas are good, chimichangas are good, the green salsa they make is good - everything is good! Well, everything except their chicken soup. That was no bueno. Flavorless, bland, blah. I just with they were open later! They close at 8, which is an hour earlier than I'd expect (and hope) they'd close. Taco Tuesday $1 tacos 1/2 price burritos and chimichangas on Thursday Solid choice for authentic Mexican in Longwood. I'll continue to go back!

White burrito..smothered in queso and topped with salsa and guac.

Not authentic, white washed food. Rise is not Mexican rice and the tres leches cake is really a vanilla cake in milk.

We ordered the Elotes off the cob ($11.99) and the Molcajete ($30) which is grilled fajita steak, chicken, chorizo, shrimp, onions, nopal cactus and cheese. We also ordered one Margarita ($16). We first experienced a Molcajete in a restaurant in Mazatlan, Mexico and fell in love with it and all of its ingredients including the cactus. This Molcajete at Cocina Maya was soooo tasty. Served in an actual Molcajete which is made from lava rock and it holds the heat very very well. We shared this between the two of us and still had a decent amount to bring home with us. The Elotes was very tasty and the corn was nice and firm and it was perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. The dining room is light in colors and there is a lot of light that shines through the windows. This restaurant is a good distance from our home, and well worth the drive to it. We most definitely recommend this tasty restaurant.

I'm partial to margaritas on the rocks with a salted rim, and these were tasty without needing any tequila upgrades. Sitting at the bar, I was promptly served thin, hot, crispy tortilla chips alongside a smooth, slightly spicy cilantro-forward picante. The chips had just the right amount of salt and were clearly fresh. When I asked for something spicier, the server delivered two small squeeze bottles of what I can only describe as liquid gold -- one habanero and one jalapeño. Both were excellent: the habanero packed serious heat, while the jalapeno had a brighter, more floral flavor. A quick dip in the picante followed by a single drop of the habanero sauce delivered exactly the under-the-eye sweat I look for in a good hot sauce experience. For this Sunday lunch, I went with the Al Pastor tacos -- three medium-sized soft tortillas filled with chunky, well-marinated pork. They were served with a side of freshly chopped white onion and cilantro, along with Mexican rice and refried beans. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch while watching an NBA game on TV and listening to Spanish salsa music playing overhead. The restaurant wasn't crowded around 1:30 PM, and the staff remained attentive throughout the visit.

Being that I was in the area, I figured let's give this spot a try. Lo and behold, El Pueblo was only six minutes down the road! There was a 20 minute wait, but I was greeted kindly by the staff, and when I walked in you could tell this place was super authentic. The decor was super vibrant and music was bumping. They do not have alcohol, but they have coronas and a margarita type glass premixed for purchase. That held us over for the time being. The chips and salsa were phenomenal. The salsa had some type of sweet pepper flavor to it and you could tell it was homemade.
