The soup was tasteless except for the oregano seasoning. The burrito was dry and consisted of 60% lettuce, 20% rice and the rest was meat that was not seasoned with a speck of sour cream. Worst burrito ever! The tacos are okay, but the steak in all of our combo plates of tacos were over-cooked and very dry. They were skimpy, as well...taco bell fills the taco more. Definitely by far one of the best authentic Mexican food restaurants I been too in a while. It is hard to miss since its hidden in a smaller plaza. Small mom and pops location but homey they do have seating to eat in. I had two Mexican style tacos and two flautas. My tacos were good and fresh but a little dry for my liking most likely my choice of meats. The flautas were amazing but they were small I am used to them being bigger so I only grabbed two which I wish would have ordered more lol... order was made fresh as I ordered it. I was driving by my old neighborhood when I remembered about this small Mexican place. We were excited to have some of our favorite Mexican food. When we arrived we noticed not much has changed in regards to the decor or menu. The service was great, gentleman behind the counter was very courteous and polite. We ordered all vegetarian options (tacos and quesadilla). To drink Tamarind jarritos and for dessert a tres leche cake. They give chips while you wait so feel free and don't be shy with the salsa bar (don't miss out on the onions and jalapeños). Once our food came out we were surprised with the portions; HUGE for the amount you pay here!! The flavor was just right and it felt like Mexican food made to order. The cheese in the quesadilla was so good I even asked the kitchen what brand it was. My wife loved her tacos she didn't stop talking about them. Overall, great service and great food for an AMAZING price. We truly wish we had Ms. Dlila's Chilangos back where we live now. Chilangos is like eating at someone's welcoming home. In my long search for an authentic Mexican restaurant in Florida that hits all the marks, it has been found. I went for Taco Tuesday and tried four different kinds of tacos Mexican style with cilantro and onions. They had a sauce bar with 4 different kinds of salsa(all fresh and homemade) along with some other condiments. Service was fast and the tacos were delicious. Chilangos is a good Mexican restaurant that is located in Winter Springs and is family owned by The Silva family who moved to Orlando couple years ago there food is authentic and def good made from scratch you can taste the flavors in there food and see that they put in a lot of work in to making it. They offer everything from Tacos to Sopes and are open till 8pm at night on weekdays and 9pm on weekends and are located near the DMV in Winter Springs on 434. Small little shop run by a husband and wife. The food is great and the prices are very low! I usually go here on Thursdays when their burritos and chimichangas are half off. I would get a fully loaded steak chimichanga for under $5. The place is very small and kind if dingy, but I usually take out. The owners are very sweet and very helpful. They even deliver to local places. The only downside, the burritos can be a little dry, but they have got a great red sauce and salsa that makes the burrito just about perfect! read more

My fiancée found this place a little after we moved to winter springs. I have been here a couple times and thought the food was ok. I had a carne asada burrito but wish the meat had more flavor. Adding some hot sauce made it better but overall I felt it was lacking something. Plus is you do get plenty for what you paid for. I have also had the tamales which I enjoyed! I would get those again. What was nice is this place had a homey feel. Lady that took my order was warm and welcoming. I also did not wait long for my food. I had THE BEST customer service today when ordering takeout! (We all know how rare that is, unfortunately.) And yes, those chicken tacos were delicious! This is only my second time ordering from Chilangos, but both times the food was delicious and there was a handwritten note of appreciation each time because they truly appreciate your patronage during these virus months. Back story: I was sad (SAD) when my old mexican place closed up years ago, and have not found another favorite. Barely even tried, like a widow honoring her dead husband. My co-workers and I, and my daughter and I, we all have missed our mexican meals together. Now I can't wait to bring all of them regularly to our new favorite. I know they will love it too! To me there is nothing better than finding a really good, local's only, "mom n pop" eaterie and Chilangos fits the bill! The prices are very good, especially considering the amount of food that you get. Tonight I fed a family of 4 (including one 17 year old) on $31 AND we have left overs!!! If you order a combo or platter you get the Mexican rice and refried beans with it. I LOVE the Mexican rice. It's not as saucy as most Spanish style rice's and it has a little bit of stickiness to it that let's you know you've got something in your mouth. I do tend to add a bit of salt to mine, but that could be more out of habit than anything else. The refried beans are your everyday beans. Honestly, I could live without them as I prefer black beans to pinto any day of the week. Their carne asada is grilled perfectly and very tender, and I love that you can get tacos in either Mexican or American style. The carnita's (roast pork) Mexican style (corn tortilla with cilantro) taco with a squeeze of lime is delicious. They even have options you don't see every day like beef tongue. The restaurant itself it quite small so I usually order mine to go. I call it in and in about 20 minutes I'm picking up delicious homecooked food. The chef/owner actually rang our order up tonight, made a point to tell us about an upcoming event, and remind us of the hot sauce bar ( one hot red salsa, one mild red salsa, one hot green salsa, one mild green salsa, sliced limes, and grilled onions with whole roasted fresh jalepeno's). I found this place by looking up "tacos" on yelp as I was in the mood for them, but not from the usual chain Tex-mex places. So Chilangos popped up, the pictures looked good enough, and I went for it. I ordered a pick-up through GrubHub. When arriving, I found this place tucked away in a little strip mall, not really what I was expecting. I sent my boyfriend in to pick up the order, apparently there was some communication issues regarding which order he was picking up, but the gentleman inside eventually found it & apologized for the confusion. I ordered the huaraches with pulled pork and a side of queso/chips. They also included a red salsa and salsa verde, which were both delicious! I could only eat half of the huaraches, and the next day I popped the leftovers in the oven and had it with a side of over medium eggs, and it made for a yummy brunch. I felt like something was missing from the main course... but that just might be a personal preference. Overall it was very satisfying at a decent price. I plan to order from them again. read more

I love Chilangos, not only for the food but for the people. Their staff is the most accommodating and nicest group I have ever been served by. Their Tinga Quesadilla changed my life! Oh my God they are fantastic! I have had a stale chip or two but I'm not really picky about something I know came in a bag (like every other restaurant that serves tortilla chips... c'mon people, that really ruined your day?). I was surprised that the fajitas didn't come with beans or lettuce, pico, etc. Overall, the fajitas were enjoyed though. The meal was packaged nicely and made it to us in one piece, that's a plus. Food is flavorful, not unnecessarily spicy, the queso is actually real that that horrible yellow puke at Tijuana Flats.
