On a recent road trip, after charging our EV down the street my wife and I were looking up places to eat and decided to try Chiles y Milagros. They have a parking lot and a patio. We looked inside and some people inside eating, the way people made food choices before Yelp or the Internet. I tried their Chicken Mole plate, mole is one of my favorites. Their mole was well made, the sauce was rich and not too sweet despite hanging chocolate in it. I couldn't find it, but not because it wasn't good. Only thing that would've made it better was if the chicken was shredded off the bone, but I don't mind cutting it myself. It wasn't the best mole I've ever had, but it was very good. If we find ourselves in the area again, I'd stop by again. read more

Fresh made delicious food! We had spicy, satisfying Pozole, enchiladas mole with chicken, and a big tasty chimichanga. Portions are generous. The staff is lovely and provides great service. We couldn't say no to tres leches cake to go, which was spongy and sweet with whipped cream and strawberries. It's in a little white & green house with a porch. Quite unassuming exterior with a cute and cozy interior Definitely our best meal in Bridgeport. Some other spots serve up rewarmed food service junk. Ate here for dinner when I stayed in bridgeport. Small, little place but the staffs are wonderful!. Great food and service! Dinner gets pretty busy, so I'd advice you come early. Went here with a party of 10 and walked right in. This place is so cozy and quaint. There were a couple people there when we first got there, so we ordered our food and it came out pretty quickly. The kids ordered chicken nuggets, a burger, and ate the entire thing. They said it was really good. I ordered the smothered burrito and my husband got the chimichanga and we devoured both burritos. Ate lunch here based on all the positive reviews. I've eaten a ton of Mexican food in my long life, and this place just might be the very worst. First: no a/c. Second: awful carnitas... it tasted old and like they doused it in lime to try to hide the old meat taste. Third: chips were stale and salsa was watery. Here is my most up-to-date review. While we have been here many times for lunch and dinner, we finally were able to try breakfast! We ordered the Meat Lovers which includes two eggs, choice of meat, choice of hash browns or country potatoes, and choice of pancakes or toast. We ordered eggs over medium, ham, country potatoes, and pancakes. Everything was tasty and splendid! The ham was very flavorful and two nice size pieces. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. They were just the right size. We also ordered the Milagros Skillet which I highly recommend! It came out on a sizzling cast iron skillet. The ribeye was tender and full of flavor served on country potatoes and grilled peppers and onions with a side of gravy full of grilled peppers and onions, and tortillas. Oh and two eggs any style. Way more food than I could eat. So yay to leftovers for tomorrow. I can't stress enough how friendly and accommodating the staff are here. The restaurant and restrooms are always clean. The coffee and large glasses of iced tea hit the spot. They offer dessert which I will break down and order soon. Chiles y Milagros should definitely be on your list of places to eat whether you are driving through Bridgeport, visiting Bridgeport, or lucky enough to live here. read more

Amazing food in the middle of nowhere, authentic flavors made with quality ingredients. We got there 20 minutes before closing we wanted to go orders, so they would not be rushing us, like some other places or be like the kitchen is closed and we don't have that no more but they have everything in the menu available. Just bought some take out and food was ok. The guy behind the counter seemed bothered that he had to take my order. I just wanted two veggie burritos and because that wasn't on the menu he had to modify an item on the menu. I tried speaking to him in Spanish hoping he would change his attitude but that didn't help. I should've left like my wife wanted to. Response from the owner 5 hours ago We recently updated our menu to include five vegetarian options; how ever, customer still invariably want to modify the dishes. we regret your negative experience, but we regret even more-as you mentioned- the poor attitude displayed by your wife. Although advertised as Mexican Food, they serve a great American breakfast! The large portions are prepared upon ordering, and delicious, as is the coffee! If you ask for milk for the coffee, it comes warm and frothy, and makes for a great cup!! read more

The food is outstanding, some of the best Mexican I've had outside of Mexico in a long time. Service was kind and attentive. The shrimp fajitas, enchiladas, carnitas tacos, wet burritos, and popeye omelette smothered in their delicious chile sauce were enjoyed by the whole table. Tortillas seemed handmade, chips fresh and hot, salsa very tasty. We will be stopping here again the next time we're in the area. On the way back, the milagros breakfast (over easy eggs on a kind of hash of peppers, onions, sliced steak, with tortillas on the side and a salsa I poured over the top). It came out sizzling, which was fun, and the eggs were perfectly done, with the yoke runny enough to cover the hash. I scoop it up with my corn tortillas and was in a steady state of bliss. Umm....just WOW! What a hidden gem (*I'll explain why later) in Bridgeport. Absolutely superb Mexican food. First, the chicharrones are pure perfection. Bite-size cubes of crispy meat+fat. Heavenly. Good luck finding better. The chile relleno my wife had was tender and eye-poppingly delicious. The beautifully-braised pork carnitas chimichanga I had was literally STUFFED with succulent meat! Will we return? Absolutely! Generous servings at a great price. What's not to love? *Unfortunately, for some reason they have almost NO signage. Like the menu states, everything is made to order so it takes time, just like it does when you cook at home. There were two large parties ahead of us and we were served about 35 minutes in. We're from Orange County and it is pretty easy to find quality Mexican food. We weren't expecting to find quality Mexican food in Bridgeport! This restaurant compares to any of the best Mexican food we have had in LA or Orange County. We had breakfast there and were very happy! Everything was delicious. Even the pancakes were light and fluffy! It was obvious the food was homemade. The portions were large and the price was great for the amount of food you get. The owners were very nice and very happy to welcome customers. We will definitely be back when we're in town! The only thing we mentioned to the owner was the signage. It isn't obvious from the street the restaurant's name and the kind of food they offer. They did say they are working on that! read more
