Great food, fantastic ambience. Home cooked. Family friendly service. Authentic. Like going to your favorite latina's place for dinner and socializing. Rosie is the most gracious host you could ever hope for!

Strawberry margarita, it was so good!

This is a long overdue review on the drinks and hospitality. We were on a long drive heading to Gardnerville when the fuel pump went out on our SUV. We got stranded on the road right across from Rosie's. After waiting for over an hour for a tow truck I had to use the bathroom so we went over to Rosie's. The open sign was no longer on but there were lots of people inside. I knocked on the door and a gentleman let me in. I told him what was going on and asked if I could use the restroom. That's when Rosie herself came over and I gave her my story. She was so kind and welcomed my boyfriend and I in. I used the restroom and got a call from the towing company that it would be another hour until they arrived. Not only did Rosie insist that we wait inside she made me a delicious strawberry margarita on the house. While waiting there we met Rosie's brother in law and learned the love story of how Rosie and her husband met. Everyone inside was so nice and it reminded me that there are still good people in the world. Next time were passing through we are definitely going to stop and eat. I will do an updated review then.

What a find! We Yelped this place on a drive from Mammoth to Lake Tahoe and thought it looked very authentic, so worth the slightly longer drive. It was even more authentic than we could have imagined! The servers speak Spanish (I tried hard to play along, based on my high-school level fluency) and the plates are gigantic and delicious. My wife and I each ordered a plate (she got the enchilada/tostada combo and I got a burrito). To be honest, we could have split one plate and been full. They were so huge, but also really hit the spot during a week of hiking, altitude, and generally burning lots of calories. Chips and salsa were complimentary. The place is also full of charm. It doesn't look like much on the side of a highway in a desert. But the inside is colorful and decorative and they have a really nice outdoor patio area. They also take credit/debit cards.

Fantastic little restaurant in an area without many choices. I had an enchilada and tostada plate and it was big enough for two people. Good service, the owner came up and said hi. The prices were fair.

    Combo "0". Not on menu!

We decided to "take a ride" from Bridgeport Reservoir on the back road to find "Rosies". The drive itself was worth it! When we got to "Rosies" we were greeted by a really sweet young lady who took care of us for our dinner. Chips and salsa were very good. Margaritas also tasty (blended) and refreshing. Food came out quickly and well seasoned with nice presentation. Very good authentic flavor. For an out of the place - off the beaten path venue, I recommend this place.

I'm really confused about people saying this is the best Mexican restaurant they've ever eaten at…read more The food is good, but overly processed, and definitely not the best in the area. I live in Carson City, and when my husband and I found this little spot I was happy because they serve breakfast. A lot of Mexican places around here do not. They also have a variety of dishes that have potato and egg in them, and my husband and I are vegetarian and vegan respectively. I really was happy that they had some dishes that we could choose from and modify to fit our dietary needs. Last weekend we drove from Carson to have breakfast on Saturday. We got there at 10:30. They list themselves as being open at 10am. There was a closed sign in the window. We could smell food cooking, and I could actually see movement through the tinted windows. Confused, we decided to wait thinking that maybe they would open seeing people standing there (in the summer heat mind you). While we were waiting, I noticed one of the waitresses that I've seen before quickly drive up around to the side, get out, and run into a back door. I thought, maybe they're running late. Maybe somebody called in sick and they are shortstaffed. I decided to knock on the door to ask when they were going to open, because we had come all that way to have breakfast with some friends who are also vegetarian. We've been telling them how excited we were to find another option for breakfast. No one would open the door for us. I called as well. No answer. We went next-door to Blind Dog, had a coffee, and waited for a bit. We came out after and they were still closed. At this point we just gave up and drove back to Carson City and had breakfast at Squeeze In. It was a really big disappointment. The food here is all right. I enjoy the potato taquitos. They will modify their dishes without dairy to make it vegan friendly. Picture of a couple weeks before when I brought a friend here for lunch and the margaritas we had. Drinks are a bit overpriced but taste good. The ambiance is upbeat. When they are open, the service is friendly and swift.
