Needed to grab something to eat. We were on our way home coming from Lake Tahoe. Stopped by this place to check it out since it was open. TIP: CASH ONLY. We got the Philly Cheese Steak Sando, Pastrami Burger, Bacon Cheese burger, fries and onion rings. My Philly cheese steak was missing the mushroom and bell peppers that a normal Philly cheese steak sandwich should have, kind of disappointed with that. For a quick bite, this place will suffice especially being in a rural area. Clean restaurant and good customer service.

I had a delicious sundae! The staff were polite and helpful! Yummy sundae! Cute little place.

    Small cone with flavor bursts!

Still a family favorite!! Kind staff and a wide variety of food and treat options. The fries are crispy and delicious. The fish & chips are amazing! The outdoor tables under the trees are clean and comfortable! Love the cones!

Best soft serve ice cream ever. I remember doing road trips as a kid and stopping over for their banana flavor blast soft serve cones. Not only is the service quick and easy, it also has the ambience of a classic ice cream joint perfect for any sunny day. I personally haven't tried the food myself, but my dad says the burger and fries are good and filling. I went here on a Friday afternoon and luckily it wasn't that busy and there were open parking spots. It is right next to a busy road so please be careful of your little ones! I got a small banana and large strawberry flavor blast!

The best soft serve ice cream, chocolate vanilla swirl

Take a deep breath and just enjoy! You're traveling on Highway 395 from Los Angeles and you need a driving break! This is the best, creamiest soft serve ice cream!!!! BTW this is my trifecta soft serve ice cream, my fave! It's the only way I get through that exhausting drive on the way to Lake Topaz. Yes, there's a line but it moves quickly. If you're hungry try the burgers and fries. We just stop for the ice cream Because we're full after eating in Bishop. I see the burgers and fries ordered and it all looks delicious....

Can't go up to Mammoth without stopping by this amazing place. I absolutely love da jalapeno burger . I wish I lived closer.

Upside down house surrounded by the outdoor museum with a view to the lake!

Cute ice cream shop. Stopped on our way back to the Bay Area after visiting Mammoth Lake. We were surprised by the variety of offerings they have, from soda floats, to chocolate dipped soft serve, fun swirls (flavor blasts) shakes etc. Has a nice back yard sitting area also some Indoor seating. We enjoyed our Little walk to the outdoor history museum and upside down house just a few steps behind the ice cream shop.

Cash only! Luckily we had enough cash on us. Good soft serve ice cream and shakes! We didn't try the other items on their menu. They only have three flavors (vanilla, chocolate, or swirl) and only two dipped options (chocolate and butterscotch). There's a small room to the side with small tables and chairs for indoor seating. There is a cute outdoor patio with seating behind too. There is usually a line out front to order from the window but it moves pretty quickly. The guy taking our orders was friendly.

    Dipped in butterscotch yum

Old fashion vanilla soft serve dipped in butterscotch ,,,, sometimes it's the little things in life. Simple pleasures after a fun day exploring the area and the lakes. Even soft serve makes rainy days bright !

What's not to like. After a warm day at Mono Lake, we stopped at Mono Cone. We started with a cheese burger, a BBQ bacon cheeseburger and some pickle fries. All were exactly what you expected from a road side stand, but on the tasty side. We finished with some soft serve ice cream. Both were half vanilla half chocolate. Mine was dipped in chocolate. The staff was nice and service was as quick as you can expect. I'm glad we stopped here.

Mono Cone sign, Hwy 395 Lee Vining, CA

Fun stop along Hwy 395 near Mono Lake, Owen's Valley. French Fries and soft serve ice cream cones were delicious, nice picnic area with shade and two bathrooms in back. A few spots to park but it's always busy in summer so people come and go quickly. Old time walk up drive in with retro sign is easy to see!

Best Ice Cream spot in the city! That is to say it's the only spot but I like it. Basic snack bar. Kinda sentimental about this place as I was one of the first after the unnecessary lockdown from the Covid days. During the summer months on a long hot drive, this place is like a mirage in the simmering heat. Good soft serve ice cream. Dipped cones, different flavors, of course swirl. Also burgers, chin sandwiches, tacos tots and other snack bar type food and drinks. Youngsters working there are nice and efficient. During the summer months it gets very busy. Even last week, mid October there was a line of people. Plenty of parking, lots of and street. A little indoor seating. Perfect for a rest stop. Cash only I believe but that's how I pay anyway. Worth the stop.

    PERFECT FRIES!

It is still open. I was there just a few hours ago and had a great Ortega Cheeseburger. and a Blackberry Sundae. Sorry no pictures.

Why is this closed? We drove here for our annual visit today?

Ladies and Gentlemen, Burger Barn IS OFFICIALLY OPEN for the 2026 season!…read more Official first paying customer of the 2026 season, reporting in! Been eating here for years, and along with all other places in town, you just can't go wrong with this place, no matter what you order! This morning specifically, I got another meat lovers breakfast burrito. So big, easily enough for two people! But I would suggest buying one, and saving half to eat on later, because it's that good. I've ordered probably everything on the menu at one point in time or another. Everything is always great, and please keep in mind. EVERYTHING IS MADE FRESH TO ORDER, So during peak season, there's usually a line of people. So just be patient, because it will be worth the wait! The burgers are amongst the best along the 395! Julio is one of the cooks, and that boy knows his way around the kitchen! Cheryl is the owner, and is usually taking your order at the counter. She is one of the most wonderful women in all of Bridgeport! They have outdoor seating, and across the parking lot I believe there's still indoor seating, but I haven't been in there in years. Aside from great food, You're almost guaranteed to run into PCT hikers, campers, fisherman, etc, and most have interesting stories to tell! Thanks for the burrito guys! I'll stop back in and see ya next time I'm home! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. I loved the stockyard vibes of the patio that sits just off main street and I imagined watching a parade or enjoying one of the town's special events from there. The patio also has a big stage and quite a bit of outdoor seating, suggesting good times there too. The brewery is small and they make 6-7 styles. There was a solid local vibe and constituency enjoying the beers here. The bartender was friendly, talked to us a bit about the beers and was quick to provide samples to help us make a selection. I chose the red ale and enjoyed the roasted malt flavor. At the end of the day, this is a microbrewery in a small town. I rarely drink beer anymore but this one went down so nicely, which I think was because I knew I was supporting a small local business. Cheers to Big Meadow.
