On a recent day trip to Santa Fe we were looking (like we always do) for a local brewery. It's kinda my thing. The wife found Chili Line and *whoosh* off we went. Chili Line is a small place, but very cozy. It occupies an unassuming spot along the road right next door to Lino's Trattoria & Pizzeria. We were just there for the beer so we sat in the bar. It's tiny, with only two tables, and a few stools at the bar. Jessica was our server so she directed us to the online beer menu. I ordered a flight of 4 beer (with the help of Congo), and they were all REALLY good. One of the things I absolutely LOVED about Chili Line was that smoked beers. I love a good smoked beer, be it an ale, stout, or lager. There's something about a smoke brew that is unique and makes it stand out from other beer. Chili Line is a CLEAR standout when it comes to smoked brews, and definitely The Best I've had. Jessica was awesome. She didn't mind engaging in conversation and helping us make beer choices. We also swapped a few tattoo stories (which is awesome) and helped me decide which merchandise to purchase. It was a short visit (maybe an hour), but it was great. Chili Line is a very cozy, relaxed place. Some breweries go for the hype, but not here. Just a quiet place to hang out and drink some excellent smoked brews. I'll be back. Chili Line might not be big on space, but they do make some interesting beers for their small footprint. We sampled a number of their beers on a recent trip to Santa Fe and enjoyed all of them. They emphasize their smoked beers, which seems to be for good reason. Both of their chili beers were great, which can be tough to pull off for the style. Other highlights were a bruin and a smoked barleywine. The space itself is fairly small - you order at the bar and then grab one of the few tables inside or outside on their minimalist patio. You can also order food from the adjacent pizza place. Certainly worth a stop to try to some unique beers while poking around Santa Fe. read more

I didn't try the food, but we tried a flight of all their beers and I only liked a couple. They are a micro brewery so they aren't pumping out large amounts. Everything was great-bartender Chris (he was also the waiter and bus boy), food, ambiance, beer and music. We were able to get food from the place next door-not often you get gourmet Italian food at a brewery with great beers. We had the spaghetti and meatballs (had spinach a little spice-yum), Sinatra-light cream sauce with asparagus and mushrooms, yummy pizza. Great sour/natural ferment brown, bourbon barrel aged beer (had a nice sweet note) and a stout which was a little Smokey. Highly recommend-check it out. read more

We decided to go here based on he yelp reviews and the Brewee app reviews. I would suggest that you put this place on your list of must go places even if you are not a beer drinker. The atmosphere is quintessential Santa Fe. Chris was our expert at the bar. I had a flight of their beers that were overall the best group of beers I have had in 7 weeks out west. Their west coast IPA was excellent and do your self a favor and try both the red and green chili ales! The red definitely gets my vote. My wife had the stout and it was superb! The biggest bonus was the food. We started with the calamari appetizer and it was so tender and lightly breaded in a sauce that just enhanced the flavor. Definitely recommended. Then we each had a pasta dish, I had the Frank Sinatra and my wife had the Sophia Loren. And the topping was the jazz trio to finish the night. Oh so good. Rich and creamy both!! The server/host was either new or very inexperienced with the bar, because the pours for the other party there at the same time as us were also looking a bit rough and it took him about 40 minutes to switch out the keg. The fried shishito peppers were great and a huge portion (as expected for $12 for fried peppers). We're a fan of sour beers, and their raspberry and guava sours were very interesting. They had an almost fermented taste to them? The patio out front is dog-friendly. Inside is a bit small but they had live music setting up in there while we were leaving. One of our favorite places (actually our favorite place) to visit in Santa Fe. Love the patio, especially during COVID. The staff made us feel very safe with their COVID protocols and even took our temperature. We usually try different beer flights, but they also have wine and champagne if you are tired of beer. However, it's always fun to try the different types of beer that Chili Line has to offer. We also enjoy ordering pizza here. Chili Line is connected to a delicious Italian restaurant. It's a perfect spot for dinner and a few after-dinner locally brewed beers. They have a nice sized patio. There was a really fun band that night. We started longer than expected because they were so good. Phenomenal spot near downtown Santa Fe. Chili Line offers an enticing atmosphere with a chill bar and the option to sit in the connected pizzeria (Lino's). They have a great selection of brews -- some (or all? not sure) of which are smoked in-house -- and there is even a delicious NA beer to try for those who don't do alcohol (also available is an NA white wine and vodka -- neither of which I tried this first time. Looking for a bite to eat as well? Chili Line offers a small menu with some of the freshest options you'll find at a brewery. I ordered the Panino Pollo, a mind-blowingly good sandwich with tender chicken, artichoke hearts, and a delicious pesto sauce. I will absolutely be revisiting this gem to try their other menu options and to hang out. And last (certainly not least by any stretch of the imagination), the brewery is filled with some of the best music you'll find. The playlist they had on while I was there brought me back, brought me forward, and rocked me for a couple hours. Amazing complement to an already amazing dining experience. Chili Line Brewing sounds like an amazing intriguing brewery. And it was awesome! Smoked beer really adds a depth of flavor to some of the beers. And our waitress was the most friendly personable waitress ever! The beer is brewed in house, the smokiness from the malted barley being dried over open flames. All of the beers were smoked. This brewery lets you order 4oz tasters, half pints, pints or growlers. We got tasters of all the beers plus the speciality. That includes the Llorona, PG IPA, Jacona (stout), El Jefe, Star baba, La bandito, and Antonito bandito. My favorites were the star baba (oak smoked wheat beer) and the El jefe (beechwood smoked hefewiezen). The star baba had a smoky semi sweet taste that was brightened by the fresh lemon juice. The El jefe had this oaky smooth taste to the beer. It was complex and beautiful. Our waitress was so friendly and personal. She anticipated our needs (more bread, more food, do we want more beer). She also was quick to clear our plates and offer us waters. And she was genuinely so nice. I loved this beer and our waitress! read more

I stopped by here this past Friday night with my wife for some drinks. We were in Old Town Sante Fe for the evening whenever I consulted Yelp for a brewery. Only .4 miles away was Chili Line Brewing and so we headed over. Upon entering the restaurant we immediately headed to the bar area and took a seat at a high top table. There wasn't too much decoration in and around the bar other than a whiteboard with some of their beers on it and then a bunch of branded merchandise. Right after we sat down the gentlemen working at the bar came over to tell us about Chili Line Brewery. What sets it apart from other breweries is that all of the beers here are smoked. Yep that means everything from their chile beers to their sours and even the IPAs are smoked. He told me how many breweries in the US are the same way and it was a really small number but I forgot the exact number. Overall he was super nice to us and really made us feel welcome. As I often do whenever I visit a new brewery, I went with a flight here. At Chili Line Brewing that consists of 4 - 4 oz pours. For my beers on this day I went with Que Picante (Red Chile), Como Pica (green chile), Cherry Poppin (smoked sour) and Pinche Guey (West Coast IPA). Normally I wouldn't order the chile beers as I have had too many that set my mouth on fire. However I figured that I wouldn't have the chance to get these beers again and went against my better judgement. Thankfully it worked out for me as both of the beers were really good! I would actually call them the best chile beers I have ever had. You could taste both the beer and a chili flavor in each of them and while they had a kick to them, it was a low heat that was enjoyable and didn't leave me looking for water. My other two beers were nice as well. The sour had a nice smoked cherry flavor which both my wife and I loved while the IPA brought the juiciness along with a touch of smoke. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. All of the beers that I had here were good and the gentlemen working the bar was super nice as well. read more

It pains me to write this as we were early fans of their unique take on brewing - and we were excited to have this as our go-to Santa Fe brewpub. We proudly brought visitors here. Well, they are no longer brewing, they are replacing the house beers with guest beers as they run out. So it is becoming a tap room, no longer a brewery. The tap system is badly in need of some TLC and beer line cleaning. Every tap pours mostly foam. To the point that the bartender was pouring beer into Mason jars so that it could settle for serving. Otherwise, it took several pint glasses and several minutes to pour a pint. The draft station looks like a chemistry experiment gone nuts with jars everywhere and black marker tape-over-tape beer labels and a big cracked mirror background. This is ongoing over several visits, not a single-day glitch. The other thing that is disappointing is the kitchen has a real wood-fired oven with the capability of making great Neapolitan style pizza. Which they used to do - it was our go-to pizza in town. However, the last several times we ordered pizza, they arrived crispy on the outside, but the center dough was so soggy and underdone that you couldn't pick up a slice - it had to be fork eaten. Not a pleasant texture. A little pizza making attention, decor & cleanliness love and a full-time brewer, and it could be great. But the shine has worn off the apple, and we are sad. read more

Cool brewery colocated with a pizza spot. I actually walked in and got confused and asked where the brewery was. They have a lot of beers on tap and really friendly service. I ordered a flight using the touch less ordering system (scan, order and pay online) and it was brought over right away. Nothing blew my mind but I wasn't disappointed with anything I had either. Came here on a Saturday night around 6:30pm for some beers. The place was kind of dead except for a large table of 6ish guys having beers and a few couples drinking and eating. The place is kind of small, but I don't suspect they get huge crowds here. We decided to try a flight (after tasting the Lavender Saison, I DONT recommend) our flight had two IPAs, another IPA type beer and their Milk Stout. Both IPA were super good and their milk stout was probably one the the best stouts I've had. We ended up with a pint of the Milk Stout and of their "Pinche Guay(?)" IPA. The service was kind of slow, but our waiter was nice. One thing I would change is, the front door was opened and it was a bit cold outside. I would definitely come back here.
