Inconsistent and unreliable ever since this location first opened their doors, if you're craving Chili's on a weeknight or anytime during the weekend, actually no you're not. Go to any area grocery store, then visit any area liquor store, and make the food and beverages yourself. This place does an excellent job at punishing anyone that sets foot inside the building. Wildly dysfunctional service, morose and cliquey staff, plus a thoroughly unreliable kitchen make this place a hard pass. If you're new to the area or visiting, there's plenty of decent restaurants downtown Auburn that you should visit instead. If you absolutely must have Chili's, order online and pick up through their carryout door. The carryout counter is usually unstaffed, oftentimes self-service, but usually within 10 minutes of you placing your order online your food will be behind the counter, hot & ready to go. read more

The staff was not very personable. We orded the 3 for me but bartender rang up at regular price. We ordered rum and diet...did not ask us what kind of rum. I specifically told her no fruit and only 1 of us gets a straw. Drinks come...with fruit and 2 straws. Did ask us a ton of times how things were. Didn't really pay attention to the answer. After years and years of driving past Chili's, my 3 year old has become obsessed with the Chili Pepper on the building, so she lost her mind when we actually visited for the first time recently. I was surprised by how nice the interior was, clean and modern. I'm not sure what I expected but atmosphere was pleasant. There were quite a few staff, our server Ashley was nice. The kids liked their mac and cheese and crispers (what they call chicken tenders). My ancho salmon was very tasty but the accompanying broccoli had zero seasoning. Others in our party ordered burgers and shrimp fajitas which they liked a lot. The fries were okay, not super fresh but good enough. It was nice that the head chef visited our table to inquire about our experience. We weren't told about paying for the bill at the table so we waited around for a while for someone to inform us. Overall, a good experience. The kids asked to come back for their birthday and I think we can oblige. read more

Stopped by Chili's for dinner the other night. We started off with chips and salsa. Which was a good start for our dinne. I ordered the classic ribeye with fries and corn on the cob. My wife ordered the chicken quasadias. My steak was a bit overcooked. But, tasted adequate for Chili's. The fries were crispy and hot. The corn on the cob tasted fine and was just a bit overseasoned. My wife loved her quasadias. Overall, we had a good dining experience at Chili's. Which at this location is 50/50. read more

I was at the chilis in Auburn New York (13021) some nights back and although the food was delicious there was a "general manager" there that looked completely unprofessional. I was able to get her name from a waiter I will keep anonymous because they shouldn't be the one getting in trouble for a general manager named Kelly not doing her part. Her shirt looked as if she used it as a plate and never washed it her shirt was untucked compared to all of the other waiters/wait staff she was the odd one out but she was the general manager??? Do they let anyone do that job? The food was delicious, true compliments to the chefs in the kitchen but how am I to focus on the food when the head of the wait staff looks like she shares the same hygienic score as a dung beetle? If that's the case how safe is the food? I feel this brings the entire establishment down and make it look bad... I'm praying this review brings some form of a reform. 10/10. God-like beverages served in refilled in seperate cups in the matter of SECONDS. The fries were ineffably amazing, so much that I went there TWICE in a month for them and order like 6 servings each time. But, one of Chili's best highlights, is their desserts, they have the holy trinity of mouth watering last courses, with the unbelievable cheesecake where each bite is a step in the pearly gates, the volcano of enigmatically terrific flavors that is the chocolate lava cake, and the best for last, the ice cream covered cookie cake. After the first bite of this steamy hors d'oeuvre, your mind feels like it was blown with unimaginable colors by a tin grenade. That's just the start - once the savory melted chocolate chips swish and mix with the creamy and eye rolling vanilla ice cream, it leaves your tastebuds in shambles of shock. Our waitress and the man who served us were delightful, so it's not the people....the "nachos" were expensive and there were maybe 10 chips on the plate at best, and under our last one was a dark hair that looked like a man's chest or facial hair. It is not the food, it is the service. This is not the first time. The wait staff is embarrassed because the kitchen staff cannot keep up. Seated at 5 and got meal at 6:05. Our food came out and it was not what I ordered and my boyfriends chicken was soggy and chewy. We told our waitress about it and she looked at us with a confused face, she said she would take my boyfriends meal off bc he did not even eat it and came back with our receipt and did NOT take my boyfriends meal off and instead gave us a military discount that's 10% off so $3 off of a $14 meal that he did not eat. This was the first time I have eaten at Chilies and it was really good. I had a few drinks that were really tasty. Our server was fantastic. She gave us some great recommendations. I had their salmon dinner with rice and broccoli and it was cooked perfectly. Plus I tried everything that my family ordered. Their Mac and cheese made with polblano peppers topped with panko is a must try. Their mashed potatoes were ridiculously good. Its a baked potato mashed so chunky covered with bacon and cheese plus you have to try their hot pretzel's with cheese dipping sauce. I think the pretzels lasted about less than one minute read more

The place has gone down hill unfortunately. More unkept than normal. Took 10+ minutes for the soup and salad. No chips offered. Soup was cold and had to be reheated. Salad wasn't fresh and croutons stale. Received entrees. One of two was the wrong entree. Was never asked if everything was ok or for drink refills. We had to ask for a take out container. Worst service we've ever had at chili's. Our waitress spent most of her time buzzing around a couple of tables where apparently her friends were eating. We had no straws, no silver and no napkins without asking a different waitress for them. The food was obviously sitting a while before the waitress ( not ours) finally brought it out... It was cold. The chicken was rock hard, the burger was overcooked and dry. Extra sauce was asked for twice but it never appeared. Drinks were empty for 15 minutes before someone noticed. The bun for the burger was burned on the inside. The corn never was hot, as the butter didn't melt. We wanted to pay with cash and the waitress took off on us again. The men's room was out of paper towels and there was a plumber working just outside the side door, with the door open you could smell the raw sewage from the pipes he was working on. Very sad... We go there about once a week... Never had a poor experience like this... I truly dislike giving a poor review, but it was bad. If they keep this up it will be closed before long... Since we're at it... Had a margarita which was ok, but no fruit wedge and no straw there either. No excuse for this bad service and poorly done food that took an hour and a half to get,eat and leave. This is always a staple for us. We have been to many Chili's in the area, but none come close in comparison to the one in Auburn. The service is absolutely amazing every time we go. My husband and I have three favorite servers and usually request one of them (usually Korina or Steve). The food can vary, but doesn't stop us from returning. It's never "bad" but sometimes it's less than amazing. Usually if we request extra sauce for the pasta they have no problem bringing it and that solves the problem. read more

If I could give less than one star I completely would. I actually have two complaints. One that happened a month ago, and one from last night. What happened last night was so .. rediculous that it's making me speak up about the incident that happened a month ago. First last night. We were quote a time of 35 mins around 615 when we arrived. They stated they were backed up in the kitchen and also short staffed. Ok no worries, we don't have a problem waiting. We realize all businesses are really hurting right now. While waiting we were chatting with the lady next to us who had 4 kids with her. Said she had been already waiting an hour. Again, it's a tough time no big deal we will wait. Around an hour or so later we were sat. Waitress came and took our drink order, and our food order and she did let us know the kitchen would be backed up so there would be a bit of a wait. 25 or so minutes later we did get our drinks but they were incorrect and we not able to catch the waitress to let her know. So we just drank them till we could get a hold of her. She did come back some time later and we discussed the incorrect beverages and she stated she'd but in the correct ones and not to worry about what we had. Enjoy them. At that time we also ordered some chips and salsa. Another 15 or so minutes we received those. Almost an hour later, the waitress came back to the table and stated that somehow or food had not been put in the system. At that point we just had said forget it and got up. Although our waitress was nice, she def should've realize that we didn't have any food for a long time and she wasn't very attentive to the table. Also, when I came over to tell us about our food another staff member came over and was razzing her about "taking a break" because she was talking to us. He was pretty rude to her and really didn't listen to what we were telling him about the service. Being in the food service industry myself, her manager should've come over and spoken to us, but instead he was chatting with other employees and making jokes instead of helping out. Cleaning off tables etc. In all we were there a total of 3 hours and 20 mins. A month ago I ordered curbside due to a leg injury and waited over 40 mins for anyone to come out. It was storming that day and really windy, also busy so I didn't mind waiting. I finally called to see if it was coming out and I was put on hold the minute the phone was answered. Waiting there for about 15 mins then hung up and called back. Girl on the phone told me my food would be right now but it was never brought. Called again prolly 10 mins later and she told me it was raining and when it slowed she'd she'd right out. Waited another 15 then left. Emailed the corporate office, no response. Place is just a shit show. All the time. Def need better management and customer service as well and consistency. Not that chili's will prolly care, but they will not see our service again, and we def will continue to speak without high regards for the restaurant. read more

Unfortunately, we continue to have bad experiences at this Chili's--we had visited often for a while to give them a fair shake. From an oven being down for a long period, to incredibly slow service each visit, to tables sitting un-bussed for 20 minutes at a stretch (and during Covid, when only 1/4 of the tables in the whole place are useable, there are several parties waiting on each of those dish-covered tables), and when Yelp says that you'll have a 15 minute wait time, and you check in inside, they tell you they "keep trying to tell Yelp to give longer wait times--it's going to be at least an hour" and you have 3 hungry teenagers in your party at 7:30pm on a Sunday...we won't return. Sadly, the food is good, and the prices are reasonable. Don't waste your time. Find something local a mile away. read more

I would have liked to have had some food with my food..portions are pathetic..i ordered the Chicken Sandwich Lite with a side of fries. SAD! I never want to leave a restaurant with an appetite. My 8 year old polished of the cheeseburger and a paltry amount of fries. $10 for the burger or chicken sandwich..I could have spent $15 at Avicolli's in Liverpool and gotten a Chicken Parm with spaghetti that you literally will have to take home a doggy bag.. I highly recommend going to a mom and pop restaurant..Avicolli's in Liverpool/Clay has incredible portions...Balloon's in Auburn also has large portions, too! I am sure there are others, but the point is Chili's is a chain and never again! read more

The worst dining experience I've ever had! When we showed up we were told it would be a 45 minute wait so we agreed and they took my cell number to text us when our table was ready. After waiting 55 minutes I went in to ask about our table and was told it was going to be another 45 minutes to 1 hour. I asked to speak to a manager 10 minutes later we were seated and told that they were out of chips. We ordered and waited another 45 minutes for our food the entire time watching the waitresses bring chips to everyone around us. There were hardly anyone in the place the entire time we were there so I don't understand what the problem was. We will not be back. read more

We had lunch here today and it was not good. I had the double hamburger which was obviously 2 small frozen patties which were over cooked, dry, and tough, A 99 cent double cheeseburger at Mc D's tastes fresher and juicer and is bigger. I reminded me of hamburger patties I have cooked and saved till the next day or 2 and heated in the microwave. My granddaughter mac and cheese was hard and had large pieces of mac and cheese that you couldn't chew. the chili which I thought came with the lunch special but ended up costing an extra dollar was dry pasty and not fresh.
