It's been a while since I ventured out to Chili's! My friend was in the area and wanted to meet for drinks. Chili's has two-fers, so this was the best decision. There was a small wait as they are only at 50% capacity as per Covid regulations. You give your number and they text you when your table is ready. You can't wait inside, you have to wait in your car. We were told a 10 minute wait for 2..but it ended up being way less than 10 minutes. Beer was nice and cold and my friend enjoyed her wine. We shared the Big Dipper. It's a choose your own appetizer sampler. You're able to pick three things from the list. We went with wings, fried pickles and cheese curds. A simple variety. All were tasty. Service was great. First, if you sit at the bar (as we prefer) on the right side... expect to see nothing but the bottom half of folk working in the kitchen, and everything they dropped on the floor. It's pretty dirty back there. Out triple dipper showed up with the wrong mix. The "fix" came out less than a minute later. You have to wonder how that happened. Might have been nice to order food sooner, but the poor guy at the bar was alone and overwhelmed... not that he ever looked up at us. So refills and our food were not a priority for him. Okay so I know what you're thinking. 5 stars for chili's? How is that possible? Now this is a spot I've come to many many times however this particular visit pushed them from 3/4 stars into 5. They have expanded their menu, their food was insanely fresh this time and the service was incredible. We ordered our appetizers that came out in a timely manner, our drinks were replenished without having to ask. Bill and Kevin were both our waiters and did an amazing job. We had the fajitas, their new crisper and waffles and their smoke house combo which included ribs, sausage and chicken. Everything was extremely fresh and delicious. Yes it's chili's but hey this time they really really went out of their way to please. The service and food today will deff make me continue to come to chili's extremely often. I love Chili's way better than Applebee's or TGIFRIDAYS. This Chili's is about 6-8 minutes from the AMC LEVITTOWN theater. I usually go here to eat before hitting the movie theaters. They have great specials and when I usually sit at the bar they take care of us. The bartenders are very friendly! The 2 for $25 meal is great! Three course entree and offers many options. Not only have they gotten rid of the 3 for 10 (I understand this specific chain is not at fault) but I guess they just do not care who they hire any more. My waitress on my past two visits has made me extremely uncomfortable. She had not checked in on us for a very long time only to see her on her phone harassing and distracting other employees who clearly are also uncomfortable by her presence. I spent $40 for a salad with only 2 pieces of chicken that had Tremendous amount of salt(not edible) it also came with quesadillas that were rock hard. The only reason to come to Chili's is the 2-for-1 beers. Apparently this is an all-day/all-night thing? Other than that, Chili's is and always will be a typical chain restaurant. I have never ordered a meal here. I have only ever ordered beer and apps. Once in a while the beer tastes off. The apps are always so-so. Either here, fast food or a diner that most likely will get me sick. Ordered the chicken strips which came room temperature and were small. The fries weren't hot either. The barbecue sauce on the side was lacking flavor as well. My sister noted her shrimp tacos were just okay and my niece's mac and cheese from the kids menu, upon sampling, was gross. Service is friendly but not attentive and really slow even though it wasn't busy. We got there with a party of seven including 3 kids, they said it's 20 min because there is no tables available. While we are waiting at least two large parties (7 or more) leave the restaurant but the tables remain dirty. 20 min pass and one employee attempts to clean the table but the hostess approached her and says something to her and the employee then stops cleaning the table and leaves. I gotta say this is one of my favorite chain restaurants. I come here all the time and am rarely, if ever disapointed. First off, when you come to a place like chilis you gotta know what to expect, your not gonna have the best meal you ever had in your life, the food is not gonna be of a superior quality, but its gonna be damn good and hit the spot. My usual go to appetizer at chilis is the classic nachos with extra jalapenos. Its about 10 tortilla chips with beans, queso, and melted cheese served with pico de gallo and sour cream. So good! The last time I was there I wanted to try something new so I went with the jumbo soft pretzels. They were fresh, soft and served with a delicious cheese sauce. For the entree i usually go with the steak fajitas which I usually eat without the tortillas. They come out steaming hot with peppers and onions, and sides of sour cream, guacomole, cheese and tomatoes. The last time I was there I was in the mood for the spicy shrimp tacos. They give you three tacos with grilled shrimp, cilantro lime slaw, avocados, and pico de gallo with a spicy chile lime sauce. It was great, hit the spot with just enough spice. Now as far as dessert I usually dont get it because I'm usually on my 6th or 8th beer by now, considering there 2 for 1, another great thing about chilis. All day everyday!!. But this last time I had the chocolate chip cookie skillet which basicall is a large fresshly baked cjocolate chip cookie with a large scoop of vanilla ice cream on it. The food was horrendous and our server was so disrespectful that she made us comfortable. My chicken was uncooked and raw on the inside, to the point where it was bright red and did not look like chicken at all. Each time we come here (never again), the same server, older woman with brown hair, Maria I believe her name is, is outright rude to my girlfriend for no reason at all. She did not even acknowledge that there were two people at the table, not just one and she was so disrespectful and rude during the entire dinner, to the point where she made my girlfriend extremely uncomfortable to even be sitting inside the restaurant. You can't even blame it on a bad day, because it is every time we come with the same woman. Ok, wasn't looking for THE absolute worst Chili's on the planet, but I think I found it! Anybody that's read my reviews knows I have major allergies. As I always do, I explained this up front & per experience, THIS is how I ordered my burger: "I'd like a bacon burger cooked med, completely plain, no cheese, just meat, bacon & bun & also no seasonings on the burger or fries & tell them to please not put the fixings on the plate either." If anybody knows how I could get ANY clearer than that, I am all ears. 1st burger came with everything & well done. 2nd burger came without bacon & well done. Waiter brought 2 strips of bacon. I took one bite of the burger & tasted onion! That tells me it was on there & removed. My daughter's food was all wrong - no sauce on the asparagus, regular, not loaded potatoes, no sauce on steak. My granddaughter's sliders were burnt & tasted of onions - her's was also supposed to be plain with cheese. Several other members of our party had issues with getting things they ordered. We had also asked if the waiter had wanted to know how to order things for 3 checks. He stated we could separate it at the end. Why is that my job? It's nice for folks that forget to mention it's separate checks, but... We waited 30+ minutes for them for fix our checks AFTER the 2nd time we asked when we were ready to go. The 1st manager said she would fix it & adjust incorrect pricing. Over an hour later, when we were ready to leave, a 2nd manager took over 'cos the 1st had done nothing but give us attitude & excuses (reasons WE were wrong!)! She said the burger thing was my fault because plain can mean different things to different people & plain has nothing to do with the seasoning. I repeated how I'd ordered it & she said well, she could still see how it could be misinterpreted. Also, 3 people in our party ordered the cookie & we asked if one could be crunchy, & 2 a little gooey. He said he'd ask. He came back & said they precook all of them in the morning & then warm them in the microwave, so they all would be crunchy. We dropped the order to 2 of them. I usually tip 20-25% for good service. I did not doc the waiter for the incorrect food as I blamed the kitchen, but the fact that we'd come in from a warm day & everybody finished their drink before the food came, but we had to ask for refills repeatedly before most everybody got theirs factored in. & then we found out the 7 year old who was sitting at the far end of the table with the kids playing video games never got his, but was too shy to tell us... & yes, we checked with the older kids (11-13) & he did indeed order AND asked an extra time for his drink. There were 2 in the area when we googled & I'd teased my daughter as she was giving me directions that this was probably the bad one. I certainly hope the other wasn't worse!! read more
