I haven't been here in awhile so since it's Tuesday and they have margarita's for $2.95 between the hours of 4p-10p I decided to stop by and also order some tacos. It was not crowded, I was greeted at the door as soon as I walked in and seated right away at the bar and your served nice warm chips and salsa that has a nice spice to it. The house margarita's are not watered down, I ordered chicken tacos the tacos shell was not thick and hard the chicken had alot of flavor it taste great. Been going to margaritas in east metal, for over 15 years. Willie, you need to bring back the original menu. Your new menu stinks. Your manager and the East metal store is not very pleasant. The enchiladas were very delicious and insanely filling. I'm not a fan of spicy food and was a little nervous because it came with "red sauce" but they were not spicy and still so tasty. We also got a pitcher of the passion fruit margarita which was so sweet and delicious. I placed an order with someone who did not understand anything I said. I tried to check the bag at pickup but everything was oily and spilling. I asked if tortillas were in the bag because I couldn't see and told yes. I came home to no tortillas for fajitas, three pieces of lettuce, half a teaspoon of tomatoes, and half a teaspoon of sour-cream. I called and spoke to Marvin, a MANAGER, who said it was my fault but I told him I couldn't even check the bag properly because it was oily and dark. Marvin then continued to YELL at me. This restaurant exceeded my expectations!!!! I took my family to celebrate my mom's birthday and the whole experience was beyond amazing. Our waiter Ismael was very attentive and knowledgeable. One thing I must say with no shame... that guacamole was one of the best I've ever had. And yeah, sure, I was hungry... I'll admit that. But you could taste these overtones of the white onion in there, and just enough kosher salt. See... I'm married to a Mexican. We've been married so long that I can make an awesome guac all by my lonesome gringo self. But this one... I don't even know if they can reproduce how perfect it was. I had the Burrito Mojado as a main. Tasty! Lots and lots of melted cheese... in my mind I was taking a long bath in a tub of melted queso... very good dish. I wasn't nuts about the sangria TBH, but I didn't think it was bad... just my taste. I think you should try it if you like sangria. My frozen Strawberry Daiquiri hit the spot though. One of the few Mexican restaurants that is authentic and fabulous. I love this place!! This place is perfect in regards to ambiance, food, value and hospitality. It is located inside a shopping plaza therefore ample parking space that is free of charge. My best friend chose Margarita's cafe for her birthday shenanigans and we all enjoyed every second we were here. Table service starts with complimentary colorful chips served with salsa. We ordered a margarita pitcher w/mango flavor (well worth the price). Food was just mouthwatering, I probably drooled when I saw my plantains and veggie enchiladas. Oh yes! Generous portions for hungry kids like me!!! Everyone enjoyed their food it was a perfect night out. I have been coming to this place for over a year regularly for happy hour served by the nicest bartender named Katia. Between her drink and happy hour empanadas served with sauce and cabbage things were popping. Recently our last visit we were greeted by new bartender watched carefully by the supervisor in the corner with stern look Drinks were carefully measured waited for approval from corner boss and empanadas which now looked frozen from Costco deep fried were served with a French dressing instead of an authentic shrimp sauce so much for authenticity read more

I came on a Friday evening and sat at the bar. The decor is nice with different colors and Mexican decor. The music is good and not to loud so you can talk to people. They have happy hour at the bar from 4 to 7. I got 2 margaritas with salt. They both were good and costed $5.95 each. Then i got 1 beef taco and an order of empanadas. Both tasted very good and were $5 each on happy hr menu. The bartender was very nice and excellent service. The owner or manager was there and friendly guy. My salmon salad was simple, the fish a little on the dry side, but I was thoroughly pleased. The dressing was really flavorful and a great pairing to the fish. We have eaten here on many occasions and have been very pleased with the food and the service. Today, that all changed. We were promptly seated and brought drinks. We placed our order and received it within 10 minutes after ordering suggesting that the food was microwaved and not prepared fresh. The flour tortillas for my fajitas were definitely microwaved since they were dry and crispy. We never received our chips and salsa before our dinner and we weren't offered refills for our soft drinks. We were so disappointed in our experience that we decided to complain to the manager. Let me say that the restaurant was not crowded, nor was it busy so there was no reason for such a terrible experience. The Margarita restaurant in Wantagh offered a much better experience and I will be dining there in the future. read more

Ok so here in the middle of this quarantine disaster, the team at Margheritas is still managing to maintain their amazingness. For the second time, they've sent us over an absolutely outstanding meal hand delivered by none other than awesome manager, Guillermo. They never cease to impress us with the loving fashion in which they take care of their customers. Guillermo actually reached out to us, knowing that my wife's condition puts her at high risk for COVID and offered to bring our favorite food to us at home. My family and I have been enjoying Margarita's cafe for over 20 yrs. Service is always the best and the ambiance is also great. While waiting to use the male restroom, an employee walked out of the female restroom wearing gloves and went into the kitchen. A moment later a male employee walks out of the male restroom wearing gloves and he too walks into the kitchen. I hope they wasn't our chefs. Either way infection control was not practiced. My husband and I were looking for a quick bite late evening on a Friday. It was 11:15pm and we noticed Margarita's Cafe was still open ( noted time on Yelp). I was always curious to try this place so we decided to give it a try. There were three customers sitting at bar chatting with the bartender and having drinks so we figured we could at least try a drink. Unfortunately, the moment we stepped in the bartender instead of greeting us quickly began to tell us they were closed. Before she had a chance to finish telling us, a gentleman who appeared to be the manager told us that the restaurant was closed and apologized. I'm all about customer service and this experience has really turned me off. My best advice is to call ahead and make sure it's still "open" because unfortunately like many businesses when it's not managed by the owner "management" and workers tend to work as they please. read more

LITERALLY ONE OF MY MOST FAVORITE PLACES. I have been many times & it used to be my go to anytime I visited the island before moving here. Now that I am out in Brooklyn any chance I get to come here for dinner I do. The guacamole is amazing and made right at the table to your preference. The margaritas are amazing (and strong). The food here is delicious. However, when you place an order to pick up you would want a decent portion and I did not receive a decent portion at all! I ordered rice, lobster tail, scallops, shrimp and mussels. The rice they gave me was scarce, not even a toddler would be full with this portion. They put it on aluminum container, which is normal but it's like they put four of your regular sized spoonful of rice. And it seems as if they spreader the rice around the plate to make it look like your regular served rice portion, Not! I find it very greedy on their end., like it's rice. How much does rice cost you for you to cook?, nothing. And then on top of that they gave me chips wear they just dumped in a brown paper bag, which showed the grease stained seeping through. Like are they for real? They were not decent enough to put it in a container. It was as if they were serving their dog. For the amount of money I paid along with tips. They could have done way better. I was disappointed. I was wishing for the best but not. So if you're doing an order to go don't do it here think twice, open your plate before you leave the restaurant and see it on hand.
