I've always enjoyed Chili's but the DeLand Chili's is garbage. The only reason i'm giving it a 2 is because the food was okay. They gave away "free chips and salsa" but gave us chips that could've filled a garbage bag, literally but the salsa was about 2 cups full. We paid $8 for queso and the container was 1/2 full and measured out to be MAYBE a cup's worth. We ordered curb pickup and the waitresses that brought the food were rude. I'll never eat there again. Servers were pleasant but the food was mediocre at best. Restaurant was nearly empty when we arrived. My favorite meal, the chicken fried steak, had been removed from the menu. Bad call there Chili's. Burgers were good but fries and onion rings were bitter. Most likely old oil in the fryers. Small sides as well. I think I counted a total of six onion rings and they weren't very big. My wife ordered a chicken strip salad. It was soggy and shredded. Will I be back? Last time at this Chilis. Tired of horrible service when Donna is tending bar. Today, no one in there. Can't get her to pay attention to the three whole people at the bar at 3pm. I'm told, under her breath, that I'm acting "like a 2 year old" because I tried to catch her eye by waving. She reminded me of her name, and I should shout across the bar if I need something. I see it as when someone sits for over 15 minutes when eating with an empty glass, that's her job. Especially in a deserted bar. But as she mentioned, she was busy keeping the place clean. No management to be found until she charges someone else's check to my card! If you go in, get a table. Not in the bar. If one of the guys is at the bar fine, they're great. But avoid Donna at any cost unless you want an argument. Seems to happen every time I'm in. I hope I'm not mistaken and she has a crush on me or something. Shudder! read more

This is your usual Chili's Restaurant. You know the menu and the usual decor. The staff at this location is fine and seems attentive. It is always very busy if you are coming in at Lunch or dinner so give yourself time. The food is OK but that is my feeling for all of the Chili's. read more

I gave them one star because the manager arrived at our table within minutes of our request and offered to give our dinner at no charge. Only one star because although everything started out well, it went south quickly after our order was taken and the food was delivered to our table. Long story short, of the 2 soup and salad orders, one salad was served with onions and frozen cucumbers after I requested no onion and both soups were served lukewarm. I will add, even though the loaded potato and chicken tortilla soups were "cold" they did have good flavor. We are local to the area so this location not only missed out on our business tonight, but also potential business in the future. read more

visited on 3/22/19 we didnt receive our side salads(4) and 2 of 4 entrees were wrong..... 2 burgers were well done, when we asked for Medium(Pink). We told our server they were wrong before she even finished serving the table. She said she was going to inform the Manager and have him come over....10 minutes later, the Service Manager(John Potts) came over. He said, he knew about the burgers and knew 1's were in, as he was leaving he said "dont shoot me"......We were very taken back. 10 minutes after that, we still hadnt received our replacement burgers. I walked up to John and told him, we were just going to leave. Because it had been 20 minutes since we informed our waitress. John said he would wrap our burgers to go. John brings us our burgers and hands us a check for our entire order minus the 2 burgers. I said really, its been total of 25 minutes since we told our server and we STILL havent gotten our side salads....John replied "just go" as he threw his arms up in the air.....By the way he acted, i dont know how he can be the service manager... We to Chili's tonight with my daughter and my grandkids ages 13, 11, 9, 7, and 1. We were seated promptly and our waitress Ryna, arrived to take to our drinks order. We received our drinks promptly, and she took our order. Our order came in ok time and we had ordered a burger to go. The order was to be placed once we received our order. Well we finished our meal without any additional interaction. After we finally flagged down our waitress we asked for to go boxes and the check. It took her a while but she did come back with the check however the burger was not listed. We had to flag her down again and asks about the burger. She looked at us as if it was an imposition for her to go enter the burger. The burger finally arrived about 10 mins later. It seems each and every time we take the kids to Chili's we are ignored. Service should remain the same regardless of if it has 5 kids or 5 adults! read more

Food quality was very subpar. The "crispers" batter was bland and not at all crisp. Very soggy. When I mentioned it to my server her response was "that's the original crispers". They were anything BUT crisp. The southwest egg rolls were visually unappealing. I thing like the pictures. The onion petals were also soggy and not crisp. I would not recommend this location to anyone. Hopefully this is an exception. And not the new norm for Chili's. I have always enjoyed their food prior to this experience. read more

So this is my third time giving this location a try. And I've ordered the same item everytime expecting it to be different everytime thinking maybe it's just wrong today. I went into the Deland Chillis today trying to grab some lunch before I returned to work, as I was on my lunch break. I seated myself, as did a few other customers around me after we were told that the staff is taking a seating break so they can clean tables. ( which is fine! I understand) I ordered my drink ( mango ice tea) and entree ( Cajun shrimp pasta, the last two times at Deland and usually every visit at any other location I get the chicken one) together. I finally received my food after waiting for 45 minutes ( yet everyone around me who came in at the same time or after me already had theirs) without being checked on throughout my wait ( ex. Are you doing ok? , your food will be out soon) To make it worse, I had food poisoning after this visit. So I paid for food that didn't taste correct, waited for that food for 45 minutes (not like I had to return to work or anything- which is NEVER a problem at the Orange City location. I'm able to have a full 3 course meal there in time), and had to then deal with FOOD POISONING!! read more

Been coming here for the past 3 weeks since I working up in Deland. The food is amazing here, make sure you try their chilli and they Panko Onion Rings. I usually sit at the bar since I done by myself. Richard the bartender is amazing, always friendly and prompt service. I would def. Recommend this place if you up this way. Walked in and waited six minutes and no worker had greeted us, some guy who worked on the building who just finished his meal and was walking out SEATED us. This is one of our favorite places in DeLand. All of these other negative reviews are a surprise to me since we have always had good service and great food and drinks here. We do prefer to sit in the bar area and there are a couple of servers there who recognize us. They all work very hard and we enjoy our meals here. read more

Definitely the worst Chilis I have ever been to. Something just seems totally off about this place, just a real negative atmosphere (obviously due to the management there). They are constantly hiring for servers and other non-managers so it looks the owner would fire the horrible management there and get much better ones in. The service is usually bad and the food just isn't that good. The most recent visit I had Michael (tall, younger guy) as my waiter and you could tell he just was a complete jerk and he did an awful job. You could just sense his bad attitude and never checked on us or anything. Why do the managers there keep someone like that? That guy is the LAST person in this world who should be working with people. Do yourself a favor and go to Orange City Chilis as the DeLand one will totally disappoint you every time. read more

If there is a negative 5 star as a rate option I would use it to rate this establishment. I love chilis however, today when a friend of mine and I when to eat to this particular location we both got kicked out of it half way our meal. I am speaking latterly got kicked out! All because my friend who is 45 tried to use a passport from south america as a ID to get a drink. Apparently that was not good enough for the uneducated manager. I'm 25 the 45 old man could be my father! And he still kicked us out. I tried to pay for our food but the Manneger was to rude to listen and he was to busy saying that we didn't have to pay and we needed to leave. I go to this Chili's all the time. The food is always great, and so are the drinks. I never had a problem with the staff. There is one woman I always try to get when she is working, she is so sweet! The man that was stealing credit card information was fired, prosecuted, and sent to jail. I know this because a friend of mine works under his girlfriend. It is unfortunate, but it can happen anywhere. You have to be careful wherever you use your card and monitor your bank account. Please don't let the actions of one terrible previous employee taint your judgement for this place. read more

Like so many establishments in Deland, I find that this Chili's is much better during the day than in the evening. My wife and I stopped in tonight for what we hoped would be a nice little date, but then we were cursed with one of the worst servers I've ever had. We started our meal with the chips and queso. Normally, I wouldn't order the queso, but we had a coupon. The chips were warm and crisp. The salsa was fresh and yummy, but the queso was luke warm at best, which only brought out an unpleasant salty flavor. Luckily the coupon made it free as we barely touched it. I ordered a Smokehouse bacon burger (with no bbq sauce) and fries (without seasoning) and some panko onion rings to share. When my food arrived, there was bbq sauce, no fries, and 4 over cooked onion rings (at $1.99 to add a side thats ridiculous) I told the guy who brought the food and went and grabbed me some fries, which of course had the seasoning I didn't want. My wife, feeling more 'snacky' than 'mealy' had ordered a Triple Dipper with (2) big mouth burger bites, southwest eggrolls, and boneless buffalo wings. That is what she ordered, not what she received. She got a Tripple dipper. It had the eggrolls. The burger bites were actually 1 1/2 bites as 1/2 of one of the burgers was bun only. Her boneless buffalo wings never arrived. Instead, she was given a couple of chicken strips. I wanted to send it back, as my wife was super disappointed, but she insisted on keeping what she was served as it had taken forever to get what we were given. It was as if the waitress had written down our order in a manner that was opposite of everything that we asked for. We only saw her again when it was time to pay the bill, which was inaccurate and had to be adjusted by nearly $10. I'm usually a good tipper, but I only gave her 5% as she chose to argue with me rather than fix her mistake when I showed her what she'd done. I'm usually super mellow and easy going, but she's awful. I would've spoken to the manager, but I had a dealing with him once before which was unproductive and frustrating. We had a great lunch at our Chili's! We took our autistic daughter, and they made us feel at home, and like we were their #1 priority! Uh, where to begin? We got there and waited for about ten minutes at the hostess stand waiting to get attended to, or even to get an employee to acknowledge us. A man in front of us said the hostess was cleaning a table for him, but there were at least eight tables open and ready. After those ten minutes, the hostess told us that she'd take us back to a booth. It was clearly too small for our party of six, so we asked to switch to a nearby table (she didn't seem too pleased). Then, we ordered drinks which took fifteen minutes to get there (we timed it). It was super slow. After we ordered, five of the six people got their food, and one person in our group had to wait upwards of ten minutes for his food. It was not a good trip, and it was about our third bad experience here...not going back anytime soon. read more

We have been to Chili's a number of times, including this location. We were completely disappointed this time. We went at 3:00 in the afternoon thinking they would not be busy. There were only 3 tables with patrons, yet in this age of social distancing we were set across the aisle from 6 jr. high school students who were very vocal. The waitress, Sara M, did a quick drive by to get our drink order. She then came back tossed our drinks on the table and brought the rest of her load to the table across from us. She then came back to take our order, leaning her arm behind me on the bench to the booth and putting her knee on the bench. She never wrote anything down. Before she left we had to ask for straws for our drinks. She then came back with one salad saying she did not remember the kind of dressing, she never asked. I told her we EACH wanted a salad - we were not going to share one. She then went and got the other one. When our meals came she put them down and never came back until we were done eating. Our plates had crumpled catsup packets tossed on the plates, not real appetizing. She never refilled our drinks. She put her knee on the bench again to work the payment screen, which did not work after she walked off. She had to take our card and go off for 5 minutes to get the payment. Very unimpressed - we can always go elsewhere and probably will next time. I value my personal space and certainly do not want someone invading it with the current required social distancing. The last time the waitstaff offered us a deal so we got dessert and it cost less than it did this time with the same thing. She was very pleasant - this one was as unprofessional as I have ever seen. We spent $60+ to have one meal and horrible service. Will not do that again. read more
