For starters, 2 Stars isn't a bad rating. 4 Stars translates into what we know as true "4 Stars". So a 2 here in my opinion, is generous in this case. Because while we were surprised by how decent their steaks were - the restaurant atmosphere, and most importantly, the service - really fell short. We went to celebrate a special occasion as a family. Upon walking in, there was no one at the so-called hostess bar up front. We could easily see into the whole of the restaurant as it is a rather small space, and we saw just 2 tables occupied and one person at the bar. There were 3 employees in sight, and two of them looked towards us and didn't say a word and just shuffled back and forth to whatever they were doing. Another employee actually came up front to the hostess area, grabbed some menus and ran off without acknowledging us at all. I was honestly so turned off right then and there, and had it been just for me - I would've walked right out but we had come specifically because of a special occasion and the guest of honor wanting a T-Bone steak, so we waited. A simple "Be right with you." would have made things so much better; but nope. Eventually we were acknowledged and seated. Again, bare bones restaurant, hardly busy and the staff move so slow and looked so miserable. The restaurant was dimly lit, and gave off such a musky, grimy air ... like an old watering hole that belongs in a really seedy part of town, and no - not in the way that the restaurant aims to define its Texas, saloon-like theme and decor : but more like a very stale, beat up joint. SIGH but anyways ... Our server, name so not worth recalling, was a middle aged woman who could care less about being there. She wasn't straight out nasty or rude but definitely uninterested, blasé and seemed annoyed overall at any questions or requests we had. Again, at this point I am so pissed about all of this but I can't leave or ruin the meal by personally acting upset - so we all order. The T-Bone steak, and Outlaw Ribeye were cooked just as we had requested and honestly, we thought they were pretty good. (Thank goodness for 1 saving grace!) We also ordered appetizers, soup, salads, shrimp, and drinks, so our party was not a small tab in the least. In fact - based on what we were ordering - we should have been deemed VIP in that place. But the miserable service continued consistently and they failed to even acknowledge anything though we had told them in advance about the special occasion we were celebrating. (I was waiting to see if they would finally signal me regarding a dessert with a candle or something but nope - nada.) All in all - I'm giving 3 Stars because whoever is cooking in the kitchen, is doing their job and deserves it. But I really wish I could give them 1-2 Stars for everything overall. Google reviews also speak to terrible service, so I hope someone is paying attention and makes some much-needed changes. read more

Went here for lunch with a friend. I was charged for the full price for dinner PLUS an upcharge for the one macaroni and cheese side. Incidentally, this is not macaroni but actually rotini which may have said hello to some cheese as it passed through the kitchen. The steak was supposed to be medium but was slightly overcooked, full of gristle and hard to cut. Took forever to get the check--she was probably embarrassed to charge so much. Yet, it took us awhile to be seated, and a long time to get a waitress, and an even longer time to get our food. The food was good, but not worth the wait. They acted like it was a Friday night. And even though there were so few people in the restaurant, after we got our food I had to get up and flag someone down in order to get what we needed in order to eat our food. This was my first time at this Longhorn location. I decided on Longhorn over Roadhouse more out of curiosity (and a craving for Parmesan crusted chicken) than anything. I frequent Longhorn when traveling for business on a regular basis. I wanted to see how this location (close to home) compared to the ones I visit in OH, KY, and TN. Everything stacked up well to the counterparts in other states. Food I ordered was consistent with the same dish at other locations (rice pilaf never seems to be hot enough anywhere I go). Service was good and we were seated with no wait at 5:15 on a Saturday evening. This was my wife's first ever visit to Longhorn. She enjoyed the ribs (though a bit too "saucy" for her taste). She ordered the "fire roasted corn on the cob" as her side not having looked at the picture on the menu much to her chagrin. It's more of a Mexican street corn on the cob than it is "fire roasted". She was not a fan. In fact, she said it was disgusting and nearly threw up. But, that's just her and her somewhat limited pallet reacting to something outside of her comfort zone. (I'm sure the corn was fine to one who likes such things). The house was nice enough to remove the charge for the corn being as she did not like it. Overall a good experience, but next night out will likely be to Texas Roadhouse as the wife prefers the ribs and yeast rolls there over the Longhorn experience. ‍ I will eventually get my Parmesan crusted chicken craving while in town and be tempted to return. read more

In all the orders we've placed, I can only remember one being ready on time. On two occasions after waiting for 10-15 minutes in the parking lot, I had to go inside and track the order down. Tonight we ordered our usual rib dinner - full slab, loaded baked potato, side salad, and an additional side salad. Order was placed at about 3:40 and was supposed to be ready at 4:30 but was not brought out to my wife until 4:45 by a server who felt the need to thank her for her patience - regardless of the fact the place was not busy at all. I wanted lobster tails & it's not on the menu, so I asked & Dequan offered the twin-tail lobster dinner, which, by the way, was less expensive than the Outback lobster dinner. Food was delicious! I ordered the Outlaw Ribeye with the corn on the cob and the crispy Brussel sprouts! Phenomenal! Steak was cooked perfectly medium and it was so buttery and tender! The corn was just ok but those Brussel Sprouts were on point!!!!!! I'd go back just for those!! Lol!!!!!! We also ordered the spicy chicken bites as an appetizer and they were pretty good...... Our drinks came and We ordered Texas tonion as an appetizer. we didn't like the sauce that came with it, gabby came by to see if everything was okay we told Gabby we didn't like the dipping sauce, she told us what else she had and we chose blue cheese. That's when things went downhill 5,10, 15 minutes go by and no gabby we had to ask another waitress for the sauce she brought it right away. . By that time my wife had finished her soda still no gabby. My wife got up and went to the bathroom came back and still no Gabby to ask for a refill my wife takes her empty glass and went up front to the hostess and asked him for a refill, and there is Gabby folding silverware she tells the hostess that we don't want her anymore as our waitress So here comes gabby with a refill. We had to tell her we did not want her as our waitress she said she would get the manager so we wait and wait and wait no manager. Another server came by to ask if we needed anything we said we would like to talk to the manager then he came out pretty quick. We told him of the problems. Finally a more decent chain in orange city. Went after they were open about a month. Steaks were good. They have house strawberry margaritas and Jack and coke that are reasonably priced.
