Very disappointed, server didn't appear to be very happy to be there. My husband got the Quesadilla Explosion and it was terrible. The chicken was cold, the lettuce had brown edges and the quesadilla was cold. Did not look like the picture advertising it at all. Not very appealing at all. My dinner the loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli were barely warm. Strike off another chain restaurant where the microwave has become their go to way to cook! Also unexpected was when we sat down and was told to scan our own menu. No question as to whether or not we had the capability to do so. Ordered the Meal for 2 ($25) for delivery. I forgot to change the appetizer from the chips and salsa to the Awesome Blossom pedals so I called the restaurant right after I had placed the order and realized it. Even though there was no $1 up-chOrdered, the change shown on the website when I placed the ordered, the person at the restaurant said they could not change it because there is an up-charge. I told them there is not one on the website, as I went back and checked, but they still would not make the change. I could have just canceled the order and reordered the same thing with the change without the up-charge but I didn't want to create more of a hassle for them and myself. I am not sure why they thought differently, but they didn't even try to check or believe me. We have been to this Chilis probably thirty times. Its always good, but tonight, it was VERY good. I might take off a half a star for the food delivery if I could. It was strange that they bring entrees out as they are ready, regardless of how many in your party. So it was a little strange for one person to have their food while the others waited for five minutes, but I will overlook that. Four of us each the 3 for $10. What an amazing deal. Drink, appetizer, main course with a side dish, all included. Hamburgers were fresh off the grill, fries hot, chicken fingers tasty, and a bacon/ranch quesadilla that was stuffed full. Placed an order for curbside pickup on Sat the 3/20, pickup time was 7:05pm to 7:10pm, arrived at 7pm and texted "here" like instructed. Waited around 15mins and when no one showed went inside to see what was going on and was surprised to see others who had placed curbside pickup orders doing the same thing. Finally was given my food and left around 7:30. Got home and unpacked the food, everything was cold, missing a salad, hamburger was a mess and the nachos were really unappetizing. Wow. As you can see, the ribeye steak given to us, that we had asked to cook "medium" which should be a warm pink center, was completely bloody and red in the center, actually all around. This is rarer than rare! This is bloody! How are we supposed to eat this? Sometimes we get great service and food from here, sometimes it's horrible. I am guessing since indoor dining started back up they might not be giving a lot of attention to takeout? Oh well. Decided to stop by Chili's for a nice calorie load after the gym. Our server Makayla, greeted us with such a warm smile. She went over the menu, mentioned a few of her favorite items and was very attentive and personable. Me being a Restaurant General Manager, im very observant - the restaurant was very clean, condiments on the table were wiped down and organized. Even the restrooms were very clean. Once Makayla dropped our food off. She asked if we needed anything else, a few minutes later, the manager, Beverly came out and introduced herself as the restaurant manager and asked how our evening was going. Beverly was adding the personalization to service as she touched every table to make sure everyone was having a great experience. The service at Chili's was the worst experience I've had yet. We sat at the bar area. After about 15 minutes of no one acknowledging us. I finally asked the hostess how we were to place an order. He then grabbed another server from a busy section. She took our order. Still no one came to check on us at our table. Once our food came the food runner refilled our drinks. The server eventually showed up in our are but still did not acknowledge us at any time. She attended surrounding tables but never batted an eye in our direction. After a couple of minutes hostess walks over says 3, with 5 of us standing there, she walks away gets someone else who hesitates and says, well we can seat you over there, where no one was, because that server will be in soon, but no guarantees. We said thank you but we'll go somewhere else, thanks. This place has gone down hill, no servers and when you do get seated service is slow because they are so short staffed. Problems today. Went in for lunch after viewing lunch menu on site. Went in for double cheeseburger special. I was told it was not longer offered. Ok. I was there and I was hungry. Ordered bacon cheeseburger and ordered it medium well. Also ordered a water with lemon. Cheeseburger price $15.99. Food came, burger med not med well. Are it anyway. Water never came. Went to the bar and asked for it. Server never came back to check or I would have sent the food back as I don't enjoy eating med burgers with the red meat showing and gooey. Ok done with lunch, had to go to bar for check, yes no one ever came back over, asked to pay. Bar tender (also my server) took my money and brought me my change. Never do he hand me a receipt. I went to this restaurant to order food to go and enjoy a beer while waiting for my food. The bartender was very rude and told me if I wanted to order food to go I needed to go to the To-Go station to order it. I asked him if I could order the food and get a beer at the bar while waiting for my food and he said no. He told me he was busy and I had to order form the to-go station but he could help me with the beer. October 13 2023 Went to eat at the bar during happy hour, waitress that took order seemed upset and when I asked for a second beer she did not acknowledge my request she just went to the other table next to mine and the person that ordered the beer after me got his beer first and I waited 20 minutes just to get the beer I ordered. When I got the check I requested it to be split evenly. She did not split the bill down the middle like I requested instead she ignored me. Let me start by saying that the food at this place deserves 5 stars all day long. But, depending on the day you're there, the management is worth 1 or 2 stars and on others 5 stars+. Case in point; We had lunch there on 12/10/2021. The server asked how our day was going. I said, I'm a bit disappointed that the ribs have been removed as a selection on the 2 for $25.00 menu. Without missing a beat she said, "Oh no; You can still get them; They're just not on the menu". I was DELIGHTED! The rest of the meal went the same way. The manager on duty had competent people all working like a well oiled machine. It was a 5+ day for that Chili's without a doubt. Then tonight, on 12/20/202, we were there for dinner. Again I asked for the ribs. This time I was told "they aren't on the (2 for $25) menu". I asked for a manager. After several minutes the manager, Eric Quilian came to ask "what's the problem?" I explained that we were able to order ribs on that menu only a week or so ago. He said "there's no way that could be done" and "he wouldn't even know how to take that order". He also said "that would be a great deal" and really acted like he didn't even believe I was able to order it ten days earlier. So, tonight was a 2 star, possibly a 1 star because of the management and the attitude shown. These people need to get their act together. And even if the ribs are gone for good from the 2 for $25.00 menu, a better attitude was in order tonight than what we experienced. They need better employee training and better manager training. And if the ribs are gone from the 2 for $25 menu, we won't be back. Chilis' is "the place for ribs" and if you can't offer that special anymore, we'll go somewhere else for our meals. I seem to be the only one in our group who says "let's go to Chili's" anyway. No ribs? No reason to go. UPDATE 12/22/2021 OK; It's official. I heard from the corporate office that the ribs are no longer on the 2 for $25 menu. Well, it was good while it lasted. I'll go to Cocina Del Charro, Olive Garden or one of the other great restaurants in our area before I go to Chili's again. It's just not worth the hassle of getting to a restaurant you like, only to find that they changed the menu options and don't know how to treat a customer. A sales guy once told me "never say no to a customer". Offer an up-charge, or a one-time courtesy accommodation or a substitution at least. It was nice of the waitress to accommodate us the first time; she did the right thing. But to act like "that couldn't happen" and make a person feel like you believe they're lying to you is bad on every level. read more

Maybe it didn't help that we came on a Sunday with another couple to watch a Raiders/Chargers game and catch up on life, but the bar area was extremely tight so other people constantly kept hitting our chairs even though we were scooted all the way in. Our waitress was at least nice and took pretty good care of us, but the other disappointing issue was the stale tortilla strips and dry black beans on my margarita grilled chicken entree. Thankfully I had a crap ton of chips and salsa and a few margaritas to wash it all down. Last week, my wife and I went to the Escondido restaurant for some lunch. We walked in and sat in the bar area. There were around 4-6 patrons at the bar and another couple sitting close to us. We did not see a hostess, a server, or even the bartender anywhere in the restaurant. They obviously did not see us because we waited over 5 minutes to be served. The other people seemed to be enjoying their food/drinks so I guess we could have been a little more patient but it felt weird, so we left. We have been to the Scripps Ranch Chili's restaurant a few times and have always had great food and service, just not here. I guess we were expecting the same. Unfortunately, I live closer to this location but will make the drive to Scripps when we want some of their awesome chips and salsa! read more

Awful, This place should go under new management immediately table for 5 needed was told 20 minute wait "okay cool" it's been 55 minutes as of me writing this review. Noticeable discrepancies off the bat. People are literally sitting at 4 tables that I can see twirling their fingers waiting on a check. No attention to clearing plates from tables to seat new customers . Got the text message that our table is ready, walked up to the counter and told that it would be a few additional minutes, so of course we lost our seats lol. Just got seated manager walked up and offered an appetizer so that helps so bumping to 2 stars. At least they tried to make it right. Just jacked the drinks up, but it's all good gave the kids lemonade instead of milk. Appetizer took a little time, but that's okay it was delicious shortly after that our food arrived and it was fantastic. Kids, wife and I all enjoyed our meals. I will go three stars but nothing more, I will not complain to much things happen. I highly recommend a corporate restaurant evaluation to get this location back on track. From what I know in my experience working with restaurants if the front of the house is this bad, the kitchen is chaos, with that being said thanks to management for making the visit slightly better. It's a chain, so you really can't have high expectations, however, this one is really good! Food has always been on point "for a chain", it's honestly the best grilled chicken sandwich in Escondido. My husband also said it's the best Philly Cheesesteak in Escondido. We always eat at the bar and huge shout out to Nick, the bartender, he goes above and beyond...has our drinks ready before we sit down bcuz he saw us pull up. :) We have only been here during the day on random days and it has never been a disappointing.
