We went there last night, very hesitantly after reading some of the bad reviews... But considering that I'm a huge fan of Chili's in general I thought I would give it a chance because that's what I really wanted... and I am so glad we did! We eat out a lot! A lot - so to say this was the best service we've ever had is actually saying something for us. Our waitress, Bree, was exceptional. We didn't have to ask for one thing, she anticipated everything. Our order came out perfect... which says a lot because I make a lot of changes to my meal. The food was HOT - fresh AND delicious. Don't miss out on visiting this restaurant over a few bad reviews. Place is disgusting and let me tell you why... First of all it was my nephew 10th birthday he chose this place to go when we get there we had a party of maybe eight people mostly kids. So then we order and wait and wait we watched four tables get seated after us and one table ate and left all before we got the side salads ordered that's the fault of sorry waiter we had. Then a manager was request and when we explained our issue his attitude was very nonchalant very Unbothered by the whole thing.. But I asked why have all these people who came in after us eating and they came in after we did. He says oh some of you ordered ribs and we didn't have enough for all of your rib orders so we gave it to the next table and that being said no one came out to say hey xyz happened would you like a appetizer while you wait for your order we had to keep questioning them . Fast forward food finally comes and all fries and a order were cold and incorrect so I'm thinking you let an order of 100 dollar get cold because you were short a order of ribs really that was bs and I told him so. I mean come on the ribs are already prepared and that wasn't the real issue. Then I tell him you gonna have to credit this bill in a major way or we're leaving and you get nothing because this makes no since at all so they gave my family 50% off the bill. This is very unacceptable and I will never visit this place again when you spend money you want what you pay for. I think I'm calling the corporate store as well. My wife and I went here for the first time in a couple of years. (We don't eat out locally very often) we had an awesome meal. I tried the fajitas (chicken and pork), my wife had the ultimate bacon burger. We shared chips and salsa and shared a salted caramel molten. It was all great. We sat in the bar and our waiter was always checking on us and kept our glasses full. We had left overs of course. It will not be so long before our next visit. Great experience. read more

I love coming here! I usually sit in the bar area & the male bartender (can't remember his name) always takes great care of us and all other guest. Corey is another one I'm quite fond of. Tonight was the second time in a row that we've not had our order correct. My husband is extremely allergic to onions and both times I've called in the order for carry out we've received food covered in onions. Tonight we called back once we opened it at home to find onions, yet again, and when we called the staff member was nice and asked for us to bring it back. My husband took it back and they brought out a new meal without onions and half of it was cold. When he told them this at the store the staff shrugged and said "Oh, well we just made it so I don't know" then she walked away. We will not be back to this location. It's sad, we used to love this place. We will not be returning to chili's in Goldsboro, as they've proven that they DO NOT take food allergies serious. Very sad. read more

I come here with my husband about once a month and every other time it's good and then others it's not so good. Tonight we got our usual( honey-chipotle chicken crispers with corn on the cob i get fries he gets loaded mashed potatoes) the chicken crispers were more like crispers with no chicken! Also the corn on the cob was dried out and rubbery with no salt and pepper! The fries and mashed potato's was the only thing they got right tonight. I would recommend only on the good days but you never know what kind of food and service you will end up getting. read more

Sat at the bar, Jesse was the bartender/server. She was friendly & attentive ( and mixes a good drink). Ordered a salad & an appetizer, food came in a timely basis, everything was fresh and as it should be. For being a chain restaurant, this one is on point. Will stop again when in the area. read more

Worst service I've ever experienced, our server sat us down, took our order and than did not check up on us until our food came out 50 mins later. Forgot to input our appetizer which made waiting even worse and than when our food came, it looked like trash. Ribeye was med-well instead of RARE, and the rest of the food looked like it was put together by a 6 year old. We told the server the steak was not rare and she told tried to tell us otherwise. Asked to speak to the manager, waited another 5 mins and than left because they never showed up. Do not recommend. read more

Im an out of towner I came here a bit hesitate because it was the smallest Chili's Ive ever seen. Not that thats a bad thing but from the outside it looks like its been here for a while. I walked in and was greeted immediately by the hostess as if she was just waiting for me to open the door. The bartender Anna also greeted me immediately as I sat at the bar. She was extremely warm and welcoming and helped me with my many questions about thier different beverages on thier menu. I ordered the Chipotle Chicken Fresh mex bowl. It was really good and was not an enormous portion but I still had leftovers. I would highly recommend this place especially when Anna is working. We ordered a takeaway order on Mother's Day and I'd give them 5 stars except they left out some of our order. We ordered the meal for 2 and asked that our sirloins have the salsa & grilled avocados on them and I agreed to pay extra if need be. When we got it we had to go back in to get what we ordered making our food cold when we finally got home. I have to say after reheating the plates that the food was absolutely delicious. We chose the blooming onion petals as the appetizer and they were so good with the sauce. Really a great starter. The asparagus was grilled to perfection. It was soft enough to eat, but had just enough crunch to give it texture on your palate. The steak was grilled to order and very good with only avocado slices because we never did get the salsa or whatever they call the topping. The stuffed potatoes were very flavorful and the perfect addition to the sirloin meal. Cheesecake was our choice for dessert and oh how good it was! The only real downer was they didn't serve any bread of any kind with the meal. This is the South and we need a roll or something with steak! So, make sure you have some bread on hand if you order a takeaway meal and if you eat in maybe you can order a side of garlic toast. Ask. We'd definitely order this meal again and soon. Only next time I'm going to ask them to please make sure our order is complete. Btw, this was the first time we've eaten from this Chili's even though it's been here for years. We went here to eat and it's 35 degrees outside and they have the air on. It took forever for them to bring us our drinks and we had to ask a whole different lady to take our order because the waiter wouldn't stay at our table long enough to ask us what we wanted. It was so cold that by the time most of our food finally arrived we asked for to go boxes. There was only one nice lady that we saw that worked there all of the other waiters need to find a different profession. Me and my boyfriend decided on one of the chain restaurants because they'd be better--in all aspects. We got there Saturday afternoon not many people, and the people that were there were in the bar. We had to stand at the front for a few minutes until someone finally acknowledged us. We put our order in got the food in a reasonable amount of time. Our waiter who was also the bartender wasn't very attentive. It seemed like the employees were in the bar just hanging out with friends. We had only gotten our food for 5-10 minutes, my boyfriend takes a drink of his water and there is a huge fly dead. It wasn't floating it was in there with the ice. At that point there was absolutely no way we were going to continue eating. My boyfriend wanted to get up and walk out immediately. We told our waiter he was just like oh ew not not really apologetic. He did comp us for the food, said he couldn't for the 2 drinks, one wasn't even touched. My first experience with Chili's so went in with only TV ads for my expectations. This is a nasty little place, more of a sports bar with hard tables & chairs than the semi-posh & leathered cushions I expected. Staff was friendly....not too attentive once you were served, however. Five or six football games & a baseball game on all the TV's, & a loud crowd surrounding the bar, with frequent extra-loud shouting cheers for touchdowns & good plays. Mildly uncomfortable, especially when uninterested. The fare. After studying the menu, I decided to try their namesake - a bowl of their award winning chili, along with a side house salad. The salad was okay, fresh & chilled -- the chili..... the chili shouldn't be allowed to be called chili. This might sound like an exaggeration but it's the absolute truth -- in that whole bowl of approx. 6-8 oz, there was only one small discernible bit of meat. Maybe there was meat in the soup, far far over-ground. It was literally, save the small portion of "3 cheeses" capping the top, more of a puree than anything remotely resembling a true chili, and the only thing I could get teeth into was the perhaps half-dozen or so pieces of beans in the mix. The crowning glory - even the packaged saltines that came with, were stale & damp-textured - more like cardboard than crackers. The salad came as an appetizer - which about halfway thru, my "chili" arrived. At that time my beverage (Coke) glass was slightly less than half full -- never an offer to refill until I was taking the last couple swallows preparing to pay my bill. My waiter was much more interested in the football games, behind the bar. Maybe that's where he makes his best money. My review - despite its several shortcomings, I'm sure there's some who relish this kind of place. But as far as Chili's chili -- if that chili ever won any awards, one of the key ingredients must've been bribe money. I won't be back. read more

We decided to go to chili's on a Sunday evening. We were seated right away, but ended up waiting 15 minutes for someone to take our drink order. The hostess ended up coming back to our table to take our drink order, it wasn't even our waitress. Our drinks finally came, about 10 mins later. Maybe 10 minutes after that, our waitress finally decided to make an appearance. We were ready to order by then of course, since we had ample time to study the very basic menu. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger and my wife ordered steak and shrimp fajitas. It took probably close to 30 minutes to get our food. The burger was very unimpressive. Over cooked, dry, no seasoning, and way too much garlic aeoli. Not sure how one screws up a cheeseburger, but chili's figured it out. The fajitas were just ok. Not seasoned well, veggies were cut into all shapes and sizes, and burnt on the bottom. Gordon Ramsey definitely would not approve of those knife skills. Oh, and we paid $16.79 for very mediocre fajitas. So all that being said, I would skip this particular location. We definitely won't be back. read more

Food took forever and I will give them 3 stars because when I went there years ago it wasn't as bad

Was told no reservations on weekends and brought my party of 16 guests then another party of 16 walk in behind use and said that they had a reservation . They got seated before us and manager said that they didn't take reservations but yet that party had a reservation so I asked again he said no we don't take reservations but keeps telling me that that party has one . All I know is that there seated and my family isn't . It's my son s birthday and my grandbabies are getting on trouble with there parents . Due to not being able to set still as 3-5 year old s shouldn't be asked to for this long . Trying to tell my family to leave and hopefully they will . My wife loves your restaurant but she will never be back on my dime. Next door sat us right down at least you gave us parking. I can't wait till I get to work and tell everyone is see . Have not been here in a long time, but came and checked it out after getting a gift card for Christmas. We were seated immediately, and the place was not very crowded (it was 6 pm on a Monday night). We opted for the special that includes dinner for two for $35 and includes 2 margaritas, an appetizer, 2 entrees, and dessert. The margaritas were amazing and came with a small tumbler with extra to refill your glass as needed! For appetizer we got the Texas cheese fries and they were off the chain. So cheesy and warm and delicious. For entree, we both had the sirloin. It was very tender and had a nice butter and garlic taste to it, and was very juicy. The asparagus was also very tasty as were the loaded mashed potatoes. For dessert, we got the cookie skillet which was the perfect ending to an excellent meal. It came out piping hot and the combination of the warm cookie and cool ice cream was fantastic. The customer service was also very on point, with our drinks staying refilled the entire time (although I wasn't drinking much of my water since I had margarita to sip on). Chili's is a great, affordable place during the school year. During the summer it is more pricey, no specials to be had.
