Nice bartender and the Margarita she made was good. That's the only redeeming qualities here. I ordered a Quesadilla Explosion Salad with no special requests. (Like no onions, extra cheese, etc.) First time it came out it had no chicken, cheese, tortilla strips, corn or beans. So I send it back since it is incomplete. Comes back with the corn, beans and chicken added but that's it. How hard is it to follow a menu? I hope they just have someone new working back there but I probably won't ever be back unless I go just to eat chips and drink a margarita. read more

I waiter was very good and attentive but the food flat out sucked. Our food order took an eternity to arrive and the four of use only ordered burgers & tacos! The burgers were all over cooked and the shrimp tacos were the last to arrive at our table. It gave me no comfort when the shrimp tacos arrived that our waiter informed us that the taco order price reduced by half. It should have been comped in my opinion, being that the other three of us were almost done with our meals when it arrived at our table. My family and I have not had good any good experiences with chain restaurants in the last few years and this outing reinforced our belief as to why we stay away. We were seated in the corner by the restroom door as that was the only clean table where we were promptly forgotten about. No drinks offered, no water, no tortilla chips and no service. We moved to another table in order to hopefully receive service and found the exact same experience repeated. In the end we left with no food. I have to give a shout out to Jamie, manager, and Casey, our server. I have many food intolerances and I usually don't eat out. Today, family event and we went out. Jamie came out and and offered me many choices and substitutions to accommodate me. Her care and concern was by far the best I have ever been treated at any restaurant. Her customer service surpasses any of the the really upscale ones who "promise" me they didn't use butter, when hours later I'm so sick from the food because they did use butter. Casey our server was so patient and accommodating to our large family. She was always checking to see if everyone was taken care of. Chili's has good-to-great food. Do not call for take out. They are horrible. The food is not prepared and ready when you arrive. After waiting I called the restaurant and asked about the order and was told after a 3 minute wait "we found your order and the server is on the way out the door with it. I called 6 minutes later and they said that the server would be out in 30 seconds. I finally went in and apparently the wait staff had went out a minute earlier and could not find me in the parking lot? The Santa Fe Chicken Salad and baked potato soup were excellent. S-L-O-W service. Been to this location many times and it doesn't matter what time of the day it is - plan on a minimum of 30 minutes from the time you order until you receive. For some reason my 3 year old granddaughter loves Chili's and she is the only reason we continue to eat there. read more

This place is hit or miss on customer service. Drinks are expensive unless you hit happy hour. We go for their chips, salsa & queso. I don't care for box store restaurants - period. However, I was invited to a birthday gathering that was taking place at Chili's. We had to wait but it was crowded - evening b4 T'giving - why weren't people home prepping for next day dinner? The waitress was very busy - she was fine but obviously frazzled. (Chili's pay scale?) Lots of kids there - there are some tablets available. I noticed the food on the way to our table and thought it all looked like too much! Carnivores and vegetarians at our table took the lots of food options and they seemed fine. I ordered the vegetable side option of asparagus, cherry tomatoes, and garlic. It was perfectly prepared, artistically presented, and delicious. This was the one and only time I have been to Chili's - I might try it again during off hours - it is sooooo noisy and frantic otherwise. read more

We got to Chili's around 1:20pm and ordered right away (about 1:25) . Our burgers didn't come out until 2:10 and the place was not busy at all. I didn't get what I ordered (got fries instead of corn in the cob) The corn on the cob was cold once I got it and it took 10 minutes after we got out food before we were served napkins. (We asked when food arrived). We politely waived to see if we could get a drink refill and nobody ever came. I gave one star because the burgers were tasty- that's about it. You think you want to eat here, but you don't. You might have eaten at a Chili's before, but it's not really a Chili's. Save yourself an hour or more waiting for food that you will be disappointed with and find another place to eat. This is a franchise, not corporate and it's completely under managed. Service was very poor quality. A waiter not in our area noticed our impatience and had to come over to get us drinks after a half hour. We waited an hour to get our food, and by time it arrived it was lukewarm. The food was also not cooked to our expectations. The meals was so small it looked like a kiddie meal. The half chicken breast was about as thick as naan bread and it came with maybe a quarter cup or rice and black beans. There is nothing good at all about this place. I worked for years at a chili's in California and it was nothing like this...you have to beg a host to acknowledge you, even when there are only 4 other customers in the building. You will probably eventually be greeted by a server once you're sat down, but don't expect to see them again after you've ordered drinks (which you may or may not get, and even if you do, odds of ever getting a refill are slim to none). Food will take an insane amount of time to Come out. Every. Single. Time we've been there, there has been something wrong with out food to the point of sending it back (and that takes a LOT for me to do), but since you won't hear from your server between dropping off food and them delivering the check, there's no point in getting a replacement since everyone else has already been done eating for 10 minutes, while you've been watching with eagle eyes to even spot your server in the restaurant. This place was among the worst restaurant service I've ever received. When we came in asking about the happy hour special, neither the hostess nor the server knew anything about the specials. Also we weren't greeted for probably 10 minutes after sitting down and it took at least 20 minutes for our drinks to come. Also, I should mention, the restaurant was basically empty because it was 5pm. Then we waited 1.5 hours for our food to arrive! We weren't offered any refills during that time, and were only checked on once during that time to be told our food was almost out (which it wasn't, it took at least a half hour after that). I've never had a bad meal at this location. The service is fast and friendly even when they are packed. The staff and managers make sure that the customers needs are met in a timely manner. Our server today, Anne, was on top of everything and made sure that our order was correct and complete. She was very friendly and pleasant. Our server is what saved this place from only 1 star. We sat down and ordered our food, we ordered the buffalo wings, my wife got a salad and I got the bbq platter ( ribs, sausage, and chicken). When they brought out our food, they decided to tell me they ran out of chicken. They didn't even bother to let the waiter know. I've eaten here a couple of times and one thing I can definitely say is that they are never consistent. One day I can walk in and get immediate service, other times I wait forever before even seeing the hostess or being greeted at all. Sometimes we get a clean table, other times we get a sticky table that, when wiped with a napkin, leaves behind brown gunk on the napkin. Sometimes we get good service that is perfectly timed and other we receive our dinner before our appetizer ever arrives. Sometimes the food is well-cooked and hot, other times it is over-cooked and cold. How they manage that, I don't know. My recommendation would be to turn around and walk out at the first sign of trouble so you don't end up paying for a miserable experience. read more

Wow, what a shit show tonight. We got there and were informed it was gonna be a 30 min wait because they were " so busy". I guess for chili's in Helena half full is overwhelming. So, despite so many empty seats we sat by the front door for 35 min. Then, the waitress took our orders quickly, and we didn't hesitate to place our orders. My wife and daughter's salads came out quickly, but the chips I ordered never came. I sat there fuming for 30 min while my 3 year old son asked where the food is. The waitress was no where to be seen. Then, she shows up with our entrees, and she of course completely forgot about the chips. Also, she did not have my sons meal, so we fed him our food because we knew she probably wouldn't return. I ended up going to the manager after 10 or 15 min and finally he got his food. Then, we sat there for eternity before the waitress brought our bill. What a horrible thing to forget to bring food for a 3 year old. It was one of my worst dining experiences ever. Really, Helena deserves better than this. Oh yeah, the staff were yelling and fighting in front of everybody too. There were a lot of staff and I really can't understand why service is so bad there. Since I was in the neighborhood I decided to give this place a try. I should have turned around when I saw the mess outside (beer bottles and cans with a pile of cigarette butts surrounding an overflowing trash can) but I thought maybe it won't be that bad. The host was pleasant enough, he complained about not being able to find a waitress which was a little offputting but again we thought maybe. We were a party of six, three adults, three kids. We placed our drink order and our food order timely. We were served our drinks and then didn't see our waiter for 20 minutes. He came back once and refilled some drinks and said our food would be right up. 30 minutes later nothing. The table next to us that arrived just after we got our drinks received their food from a waitress. It was at that point I was done. 55 minutes after ordering and no food and 30 minutes since we last saw our waiter. We put a $20 on the table to cover our drinks then went to Hardee's. Because Chili's Bar & Grill is a chain I expected their food to at least be consistent, however I have to say I'm rather disappointed with the Chili's in Helena. I usually expect a cookie-cutter experience from Chili's however it was below the bar even for such a big chain. It took 10 minute before we were brought water, the menus and table top were sticky, and the food wasn't served hot. I had to flag down the waiter twice before my water was refilled and my salad, which I requested to have before the meal was brought to me 5 minutes after I was served my over cooked salmon and it was in a warm bowl. The service in inconsistent at its best and the food is mediocre. I have given this Chili's three changes and they have earned their third strike. I will not be returning. read more

Being a veteran, I invited my cousin and her family to join mine there for dinner on Veteran's Day 2014. The waiting area is small, but was able to sit down...we waited 57 mins until we finally got to our table which was not fully wiped down. Our hostess brought us all our drinks. We ordered an appetizer and our meal. We did not receive our appetizer until 45 mins after the order, and then about 15 mins later we received our meal. We still did not have our silverware nor refills on our drinks. All the food was warm except the FRIES! Anyway...the experience was not the best for dinner. They have a some what new menu. The new tablets on each table are not a good idea for a kid friendly place. One touch and they are automatically ordering from your table. The tablets should have alock on them for just games, Oh and they automatically charge you $1.99 just to touch the thing. Not good. the food was good.
