Went in to try and watch a basketball game last night with maybe 2-3 groups on each side of the restaurant . Go to ask if bar is open seating and after about 5 min the hostess walks up and I ask he can we just get a spot in the bar? He goes no we can't do that right now walk to a back Conner booth and comes back say I have a spot open over here. We said no we want to watch the game why can't we sit there it has about 15 spots open and he continued to say they aren't allowed people over there till the other side even up. Told him we are leaving if you won't allow us over there and he just goes ok have a good night. Will never even try this place again. The service was great and our food was good. For an appetizer we had the southwest egg rolls which were really good. For the main course I had the chicken bacon burger and my husband had the bacon cheese burger. The only complaint is that they over cooked my husband's medium rare burger but most places do that anyway. read more

Came on Saturday night at 7:15pm (when should normally be a high time for a restaurant) we were told a 40 minute wait (even for the bar) there was at like 12 tables open in the restaurant. My family ate at Chili's in Helena last weekend while we were in town for my daughter's cheerleading competition. It was a Friday night, so we knew it would likely be busy. Our wait was about 20 minutes (not bad), our server was new (his 2nd night). I'll cut the server some slack since he was newer, but there were forgotten drinks, one of my daughter's got her food before our appetizer came, then the appetizer, then the rest of our food. It was very confusing. The appetizer we ordered was the smallest batch of sweet potato fries I've ever seen. My kids' food was good (lots of choices on the kids menu). My slider burgers were burned on one side of the patty. There was random grill crusties on the patty. My husband ordered ribs and said the fries had more seasoning than the ribs did. We came in here on June 17, 2018 (Father's Day). We had just flown into the Helena Airport and were looking to eat lunch before driving home to Bozeman. First, it took so long for us to be greeted that my husband asked me if we should just leave. We got up at 3 am that day to fly home so we were much too tired to look for another place to eat. Deciding to stay turned out to be the worst decision we made on our ten-day vacation. We were finally greeted and seated. After quite a while the gentleman who seated us came back and asked us if we had been waited on yet. I said no. A waitress then came over and said she wasn't serving our area but would take our order. This particular waitress was the only positive thing about this visit. She ended up serving us the entire time and she was obviously embarrassed and tried hard to make sure we were happy. She brought us some free chips and salsa. While we waited for over an hour for our food, two tables of people got up, canceled their orders and left. We also saw the manager being called over to a few tables. We were sitting back by the kitchen where I repeatedly heard the staff yelling at each other and heard the F word yelled twice. I'm sure my kids could hear it as well. When our food finally came out, my husband was told his "cajun pasta" didn't have the cajun seasoning because they couldn't find it. That was the last straw for my very patient husband. He called the manager over who said his pasta would be free. Right after that the waitress said they found the cajun seasoning and she brought some out to him. I don't know what was going on there that day. Maybe they had a lot of call-outs or the have some staffing problems. Whatever it was this place was a mess. Whoever was running things wasn't in control. It was a disaster. We really didn't trust the food after that. The next day both my kids were sick. I am not saying it came from here because we had just been on vacation and they almost certainly caught something at the airport, but with the state of things at this Chili's that day it sure makes me wonder. read more

I will start with the positive: Good food Good beer You can pay at the table with a credit card ( no more waiting 15-30 min to get your check) Now the Bad: Slow, slow, slow service. If you have small children it's pretty bad. Seriously you will wait 15 min to get a beverage. And after the kitchen inevitable messes up one of your orders they will bring the kids food out last. Horrible, Horrible, HORRIBLE!! We arrived at Chili's on 9/11/16 at 3pm. I requested my favorite sever and was told he wasn't working today(he actually came in later as we were leaving). I was seated promptly and brought the cola I ordered. The rest of the party was served their drinks but we had no napkins and had to go find the waitress and ask for them. Bear in mind it's 3 pm and totally empty of customers. One of our party wanted chicken strips but we were told they were out! He ordered a cheeseburger and I ordered soup and salad. It took quite a while for our meals to come, but no silverware. No waitress either , we had to get up and find her -twice! And my soup was very salty and cold. Our drinks ran out and again, no waitress. I eat at Chili's weekly( not any more) and am very dissatisfied. I wish I could score it lower than one star because it doesn't deserve even one star for this terrible (non) service. read more

545pm -Ordered food for our family of 4 online for chilis to go. They said it would take 20 minutes so we took the 15 minute drive to town to pick up our meal. We went in and the bartender ask us if we were the family that had 'so many modifications' on our order. We ask for extra cheese, bacon, and chives on one order of potatoes. She then told us she had no idea how long the kitchen would take to finish our order. As we waited a waiter came up and ask her for a few drinks for his table. If you want good food, great service and friendly servers......go somewhere else, seriously we keep trying our local Chili's thinking " it can't be any worse than last time", unfortunately this Chili's keeps disappointing us to no end. All the other one star ratings pretty well sum up how unbelievable this restaurant is, which is crazy on so many levels, Chili's should be a place you can go get a drink and good food at a reasonable price in a friendly and fun environment. Not this one tho, I'm sure there are Chili's around our country that are like this, however, as one reviewer noted, this one must somehow have fallen thru the cracks. In our opinion it's unbelievable rude how a server can totally ignore their tables, waiting 40 minutes for a drinks with no follow up or explanation for the delay, not that there's any excuse for 30 minutes to a hour for drinks or food to get to a table. We never did see our food, we asked to speak to the manager who came over to listen to our dissatisfaction about the whole ordeal and did comp our drinks, which we weren't looking for all we wanted was out food, I was starving. We've usually had good experiences at other Chilis, this one was not good at all. Our order was "to go". From now on we will always check the food before leaving. The ribs I ordered were dry like jerky and they left out the quesadillas for the quesadilla explosion salad my wife ordered. The southwest egg rolls were nasty and looked like they may have been under a warming light for most of the day! I've never been more disappointed. One day we can go in and the food is prepared one way then we can go in the next day and order the same thing and it is different. When we have office meetings we order from them and 8 out of 10 times the order is wrong and we don't have time to run back and have it fixed. The restaurant was nearly empty, yet that did not ensure that I would receive prompt service, so I waited at the bar for the inexperienced bartender to figure out how close they were to finishing my order. Stopped by on Labor Day evening for a Chili's "2 for $20 plus an appetizer" special. Past visits have been pretty good, so our expectations were high. The simple appetizer we ordered was tostados and salsa. What we got was stunning: greasy tostados dripping with oil and salsa that looked like tomato juice. How can a restaurant screw up an appetizer so bad? When I brought that information to my waitresses attention, she just took the appetizer back to the kitchen. The fajitas I ordered were quite hot and the pork portion was very good; the chicken was bland and rubbery. My wife's Mango Salsa Tilapia was hot and NOT so good. The spicy sauce overpowers the fish's flavor and spoiled her meal. The service was good, but I get tired of being called "You guys" over and over. Server was great and everything was downhill from there. No dinner napkins so we were given bar naps. Seriously, bar naps although Costco is literally across the street, no one thought to buy regular napkins. Blended margaritas were not available because the machine was not working. What bartender has never heard of a blender? Fajitas were not sizzling and the chicken was maybe grilled for a minute. It was tender but not what you expect for fajitas. Took most of the food home to properly prepare the chicken, peppers and onions on my own stove. I worked at Chilis in California for years, so maybe my expectations are higher than average, but this place is HORRIBLE. I ate here with some other former chiliheads in June and our food took a very long time and was wrong. Having them fix it took even longer and it still came back wrong. I'm in town for work, so I decided to give it another try and order ToGo. I placed my order online and went to pick it up 30 minutes later. Once the bartender finally decided to look at me, I was told my order didn't exist. I waited around 30 more minutes for my order to be completed and discovered it was wrong! By this time I decided to leave with what I was given since I had already paid. The only thing I'll give them is that the manager did discount my order because of the mix up. That was the least anyone could do. This place needs to get it together! Corporate should be embarrassed that they seem to have let this place fall through the cracks. read more

Went in for an early dinner on a Friday night. 20 minute wait to be seated. Waitress was friendly when she came out, brought us our drinks, and took another 15 minutes to make her way back for our order. We order the 2 for $22 meal. Honey Chipotle Chicken Crispers and fries, Chips and Guacamole for our appetizer and asked the waitress if we could substitute the dinner salad for the corn, she said no problem. Usually the chips and guacamole come out within 10 minutes of ordering. We waited 20 minutes, when someone brings out our plate of chicken crispers, that was it, no fries. So we were like really, where is the appetizer, salad and fries. The person who brought the food didn't have any idea why nothing else had been brought out, so while they were checking on it, someone else came out to deliver the chips and guac...so we asked them to get the waitress...instead someone in management came by and we asked the what the deal was, he apologized and said he would take care of it. The waitress was not informed right, but a salad substitute meant no fries, but in the mean time our salads came out and the fries. So we had 4 people deliver things to our table, but never saw our waitress again until she brought us the bill. The manager or shift, took 1/2 off the bill, but poor service. There people across from us actually got up and yelled at the waiter who brought their food out because after waiting 1 hour to get their food, the shrimp fajitas were cold. First, let me say we were very happy with our server Elijah. We was attentive, kind, funny, and did what he could to make our visit a pleasant experience. The problem with our visit was the quality of the food. My husband ordered a rib eye medium rare - it came medium but was almost well done. Our server did offer to have another steak cooked but we did not want to wait for it to be cooked. Although rib eyes are usually a very moist and marbled cut of meat, it was obvious this was not a higher end cut of meat with the bone-in. I ordered the advertised baby back ribs. Ribs are one of my favorites entrees and I was highly disappointed. The ribs were dry and were not falling of the bone. The Curley's pre-packed ribs I get from Costco are more moist and just pull right off the bone - a much better quality. My husband's garlic mashed potatoes were not delivered with the meal and were lukewarm when they were delivered. The food took a long time to arrive once we placed our order. We can't afford to eat out very often, so we splurged and chose Chili's to celebrate Father's Day yesterday for a bill of $70. We were very disappointed in the quality of the food. read more

You can always depend on staff for a good & knowledgable recommendation on the widely varied menu. Prices are decent. The restaurant is always clean. We have tried so many things on the menu, but definitely have our go-to faves. If there's ever an issue, staff are willing to make it right even when not asked- we've experienced it & also seen it with other diners. Chili's is our favorite restaurant, period. read more

Avoid this place unless you want to be home sick the next day because of food poisoning. I'm only giving it a single star because the waitresses and the manager did their best to keep people happy. The kitchen doesn't know what they're doing. It took over an hour for our meal to be brought to us and our appetizers arrived with the meal, not before. The appetizers were lost in translation some how so to catch up they burnt them and sent them with the food, we didn't touch the onion rings they were so bad, so the manager refunded them. They gave one of us the wrong order and had to cook it after the waitress brought it back. My girlfriend's pasta was cold and the chicken must have been handled improperly or was under cooked because she was sent home from work this morning because of food poisoning and now she can't leave the bathroom. Getting drink refills was a 20 minute ordeal even for water. We didn't have silverware until after the meal arrived because the kitchen couldn't clean them fast enough. I've only eaten there twice but I will not be going back. Again this place gets a single star because the establishment was short staffed in areas and the staff that did show tried to do their best to make up for it. read more
