I was recently in East County and decided to patron a Chili's and as it had been years since I had dined at one. I overheard that Chili's was running a 3 for $10 and I thought I would investigate what that included and boy I am glad I did. Since in-restaurant dining was not an option I ordered via the website and was able to pick my order in about fifteen minutes. The 3 for $10 deal includes and appetizer, entree, side and drink. I ordered the potato soup, "Just Bacon Burger, " cole slaw and an iced tea. All the items were great and I would order them again. The baked potato soup was very creamy and probably the best top three I had in life. The interior was clean and the staff were efficient at fulfilling orders via app and online. Since my dining experience I have driven by and I noticed that the patio is open for dining. If you're in La Mesa and looking for a good burger swing on by this Chili's and try them out. Try to support your local restaurant workers anyway you can as the pandemic has really crushed the food and beverage industry. read more

It was our first time there and we had a pretty big group (8 people including 3 kids) and the food was good but truly our server Nicole made our experience and she's 100% the reason for the 5 stars. She was on top of it and we never had a dry cup or in need of sauces, napkins, etc. She checked up on us and interacted and made the kids laugh and she just made our experience so pleasant. food wise the motzarella sticks were our favorite! I hadn't been to the Chili's in a couple of years. Not because I was avoiding it, I was just eating out less and being more selective. I got there a bit early with my mother-in-law, at 5 PM. She ordered the four piece chicken strips meal with the mac & cheese and fries. I ordered an old timer cheeseburger, without the red onion. Service was great the ambience at this location is good. The food came out fast and hot. The order was correct. The only dings I have as far as my burger was: 1) it could've been seasoned. If it was seasoned, it could've used more; and 2) the tomato slice was tiny, and it and the pickles were all in the center of the bun. I would suggest a little better quality control on the second ding. It was essentially 20 bucks for a burger, fries and a non-alcoholic drink. But, in fairness, you could easily spend 12 to 15 bucks on a combo at McDonald's. Overall, it was a positive experience. read more

Tonight we ordered a couple of salads and ended up throwing them away, lettuce was not only limp and not fresh, parts of it were actually black. The food just took forever to come out and my chicken fajita plate wasn't sizzling as advertised, so it was probably sitting for a while before it reached me. Sad because I was looking forward to hearing the sizzling plate sizzling as it was being brought to me. Food was almost room temperature by the time I got it. I haven't been at Chilis for over 15 years. So we went For Happy Hour. Happy hour is all day. Margarita's se to be the focus. There are 3 on Margarita menu to choose from. The drink and food menu for happy hour is VERY limited. I would have given 5 stars if there were more options for food and drink. We had the Strawberry margarita's (blended) very tasty. My Husband got the Trifecta. He said it had good flavor. My Daughter had the chicken pasta and it was a little bland and needed something. The chicken was good and good portion. My Husband had the individual chicken fajitas and he really enjoyed them. He wasn't fond of the rice though. Too crunchy. He also does not like black beans. If they would have been pinto it would have been plus. Serving was a good size too. I ordered the Avocado, bacon grilled chicken sandwich. It was a large portion with fries on side and very tasty but I was disappointed in the avocado because it literally had 1 very thin slice on each piece of sandwich. He even began helping another table that came after us first. They actually got their order before we even were acknowledged. So he finally got to us, and was mumbling and speaking in an indistinguishable way. We ordered, he gave us an attitude and then left. Great tasting food and good service. Air conditioning is cool . Fun drinks go there and have fun. We have been going to Chili's at this location for more than 10 years. They make some of the best chili in town. And the service is great. They do have really good Long Island Ice-T's here. It's down below Grossmont Center. So we go there after shopping for Christmas presents. I also like their tortilla soup it's another one of their best things on the menu. They have really really great ribs. Also they have something like a blooming onion but it's already cut up I like that too. I really really recommend this location of Chili's for great service and fun after shopping. read more

Excellent hamburgers on 3 for me I think it's called that only $10.99 with choice of soup, salad or chili plus's French fries- you can't bet that and it is a double patty too! Most hamburgers are 14 dollars and up without the salad and fries! Also now at 3 to 6 ($3 for 3 different kinds of beer) specials at the bar and all day on Saturday and Sundays - you can eat at the bar too). Love this place! I had dinner here 10/18/23. I ended up paying 2 bills. I paid one bill then was told it was the wrong one and that the first payment had not gone through. I checked my bank and showed my waitress, I paid 2 bills. She went to the back, about 10 later came back and said manager had taken care of it and I would see a refund. I've called several times. One time I was told manger cooking, to call back next day. Last 2 calls manager assured me it was taken care of. I finally submitted claim to my bank, and no refund. A friend and I decided to eat here on Easter because there wasn't a slice of Ham to be found anywhere in La Mesa. The place was empty , I guess people were finding their ham elsewhere at some nice Buffet or another restaurant that thought it might be nice to serve a traditional Easter dinner. My seat was very sticky, we had to ask for silverware which by the way, for a restaurant like that was very cheap and skimpy. We didn't see too much of the server, guess he was busy elsewhere. We had the Ribeye steak with loaded mashed potatoes and veggies. I had the very undercooked Asparagus, which I could have returned had the waiter returned while I was still eating. We ordered the 2 for $25 with fried pickles for the appetizer to share, a bacon only burger and chicken bacon ranch quesadillas for the entrees and a chocolate chip skillet cookie for desert with ice cream. That was the best dessert I have had in a long time. The quesadilla was on point too, and really good fried pickles. Our 6 th month old daughter even liked the chicken and frenxh fry potatos and tomatoes from the Pico de Gallo. Our waiter Logan even brought a styraphone cup of water for our daughter even tho they didn't have kids cups..this was the best night out to dinner we have had in awhile. This was our first time visiting this Chili's. We arrived at 4:15 PM and were promptly seated. The waitress came by seconds later to get our drink order and asked if we were ready to order before I'd even had a chance to crack open the menu (not sure if this is good or bad, but I did feel a bit rushed). We asked for some time to look. We decided on the 2 for $25 deal. We got a Chips and Salsa appetizer, two 1/2 racks of ribs, and the cheesecake, all for $25. This is a pretty great deal. One full rack cost $19. I didn't even price out two half racks, but it was probably an ever bigger bargain. If we had order the full and split, we would have only gotten one set of sides, no appetizer, and no dessert for $19. Instead, we both got fries and an ear of corn, plus the appetizer and dessert for an extra $6. The appetizer showed up less than a minute after ordering it and we started snacking. I pretty much filled up on just chips and still we had some left over to take home. Our meal seemed to take forever to come, but we weren't in a rush. When it arrived, it looked great. I didn't have high hopes for the corn as my experience with corn on the cob at restaurants is subpar, and it was okay but to my expectations, it didn't wow. You can get much better at Vons and cook it yourself. My wife is convinced the corn we got here was frozen before hand. The ribs were decent. The meat fell right off the bone, which is always a good sign, but it definitely wasn't the best ribs I'd ever had. The picture looked A LOT better for sure. At the end, we paid on the kiosk, but there was a problem I hadn't caught right away. We were paying with gift card and so I just hit pay and swiped only to a few minutes later realize it had charged us $32 after tax. Well at most it should have been $27 something. Our server actually called it to our attention before I could ask about it, so good on her, though I am sorry to say I don't remember her name. She mentioned that system hadn't recognized the deal as I'd paid before she put in our dessert request (which apparently made all the items full price until the dessert was entered. I guess that means the total value would have come to $38 something, so a $13 savings, not bad!) Even though I overpaid at first, we didn't have enough money on the gift card for the tip, so we told her to take the difference in the check as her tip thereby solving that dilemma. I should mention that it took about 5-10 minutes to get my cheesecake. An item I assumed they'd just pull out of a fridge took incredibly long to arrive (for what I'd expect anyway. It doesn't sound long in text form, but it felt like awhile in the restaurant). Probably won't be coming back anytime soon. We just don't go to Chili's all that often. If I could convert my other gift card to Red Lobster or something I gladly would. But alas we still have money to come here so I'll probably still use it at some point. Considering we had the gift card for 2 years, we obviously weren't in a hurry to use it. Might check out the Santee branch next time to see if there's any difference. read more

Placed my order over the phone, the lady stated it will be 15-20 minutes. I receive a text message that says " Your Chili's order is ready!" When you arrive, park in a To-go spot and check in with this link" I click the link to check in with the space # Im parked in. After waiting 10 minutes I receive a call and the lady says you'll need to come in pay for your food. I waited 10 minutes in the car!! Waiting for someone to come out to bring my food. I go inside the lady says you'll need to pay for your food she says she's the only one there and leaves outside to take the food to other cars. I'm waiting at the counter, I add my rewards she is about to walk out the door again I said can you at least assist me, she says let me get my manager! Well, she should've got her manager to help assist her at the beginning instead of telling me she's the only one working. The manager comes out with no help at all, I explain to her I waited 10 minutes in the car and my food is probably cold by now. No suggestion on a credit or they can remake my food. I get to my car food is cold, no napkins, forks, etc! I understand when you're short-staffed you might be under some stress but the waiter was being rude giving me an attitude for no reason. Just picked up my online order. Worst service ever. After my online order they automatically select a 20% tip for what, they didn't even bring my order to my cat on a curbside order. Not to mention they were not under staffed at the time of 11:30am and the restaurant wasn't busy. Ridiculous labor cost and expect a tip for doing nothing and on top of it I walked in to pick up my curbside to have all the staff just ignore me for 10 minutes.
