Not my vibe for a sushi restaurant. I didn't like the smell of cigarettes. I didn't see anyone smoking but there was s strong odor. There were gnats flying around too. Service was good. It was easy to order. The grape sake was very good. Calamari came out in about 5 minutes. The calamari was very crunchy, didn't like the taste or the look. I couldn't tell if was old. I've never had bruised color calamari. I didn't eat it. The sushi wasn't bad but I felt uncomfortable eating after the calamari and just being in the environment. I will stick to my usual sushi locations.

Hubby wanted to date night back in November. He had met the owner and wanted to try. The restaurant is small. We seated ourselves. Our waitress was Kirsten. She was very sweet and helpful. My husband got grape sake. It was pretty good. We ordered edamame and our rolls. It took a minute to pick because they have lots of choices. Everything was great. We will be back.

Nice little sushi restaurant confined in downtown La Mesa. Loved the wall mural art all throughout the restaurant. We arrived during busy time, but were seated within 10-15 minutes. It's a small restaurant, but still efficient with indoor and outdoor seating, food, and service. There were two servers who shared duties amongst all tables. Very nice and helpful. The fish on the sashimi salad was fresh and very delicious. Especially with the ginger dressing. All rolls were perfectly sauced and tasted good. I really like the simple details such as sesame seeds on the Philly roll. Not all places take the time to add that extra flavor. My daughter loves it.

    Las Vegas roll 10/10

Overall the sushi here was delicious, service fast and friendly, and I love being outside in downtown La Mesa so the open seating was perfect! The sushi is quite pricey so I'd recommend going during M-F happy hour; we did not make happy hour and I spent about $65 on 3 rolls and a beer and while tasty, not enough to fill 2 people entirely for the price. What we got: Las Vegas roll: 10/10 perfect crunch, not too fried, good for those who like a little spice and cream cheese! Godzilla roll: 10/10 it has warm tempura shrimp (I think) in the middle and was perfectly sauced California roll: not pictured and average which is to be expected with a basic roll I'd definitely come back here for happy hour and to try more on their extensive list of speciality rolls‍

    Hawaiian Poke bowl with Salmon

Stopped by on a whim as I have driven by many time but never stopped. Came in for lunch and the Hawaiian Poke bowl sign in the window caught my eye; along with a cold Hazy IPA. Jubilee, server, was pleasant and on top of things. She handled the entire restaurant with ease and a smile. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, the presentation of the poke bowl was inviting and looked delicious. A few bites in and it was clear this was a quality dish - with a choice of tuna or salmon for the bowl I chose salmon. The fish was soft and delicate and tasted mild and fresh. Set on top of a bed of rice along with crab, avocado, mango, seaweed, sliced ginger, and green onions, topped with appeared to be an edible flower. The flavors all worked together nicely. I sat at an outside table and watched the cats and the people go by, it was a sunny afternoon and perfect to be outside. Enjoyed my meal and the beer and resolve to return for more of the menu.

I have been coming to this place for yearsss and have always loved it! The ambiance is nice and casual with indoor and outdoor seating. The service is super kind and we were constantly getting checked on to make sure everything was great, which it was! Everything I've tried has always been delicious and if there is one thing I recommend it's the spicy garlic edamame I could eat spoonfuls of that sauce!! One of my go to sushi spots for sure and the location is great with plenty to do afterwards!!

Let me first apologize for forgetting the photos, it was so delish, I forgot. :) La Mesa has a gem here, smack dan in the middle of La Mesa Blvd. We tried the protein poké bowl 1/2 rice and salad and the lemon drop roll. The roll was light and citrusy. A perfect addition to the hearty poke bowl. Try the Soto sake, it is a perfect compliment to the fresh sushi. And of course, they're pet-friendly on the patio. Fiona recommends Konnichiwa Sushi amd So do I.

Omg best experience with sushi in San Diego, coming from a sushi family background I have high standards for this type of food. Sushi master Juan and the two servers Jack/Janea were so amazing, service was top notch and the food was phenomenal. Good prices and great menu should make this an easy choice for all La Mesa locals. Our selection was fried gyoza, salmon belly nigiri, Las Vegas roll, lemon drop roll and a couple japanese lagers/toki on the rocks. Perfect amount for to hungry peeps! Let this be the deciding review to try this place out and please enjoy. Thank you again for all the staffs work into making my experience wonderful!

They have classic arcade games here like Frogger Pong, Super Mario and pinball. There are a few newer games like a version of beer pong, Halo, Mario Kart and 4-person Pacman. We played every game within an hour and felt a bit bored after that. I'd love to see a Dance Dance Revolution game here! The plethora of beers, hard seltzers and ciders on tap looked like an expansive collection. There was something here for everyone. They even had a chocolate espresso martini on tap. I didn't drink but those in my party enjoyed every sip and got a good buzz goin. I love that you can pay for your drink by the ounce and you don't really have to commit to a whole drink if you don't want to. Perfect to taste test everything if that's what you desire. I'll be back in the area when I'm feelin in a fun and drinky mood.

It was a little smaller than I expected, but it's still easy to spend an hour or two here with friends. They also serve food, which I'll have to come back and try another time. Instead of ordering drinks at the bar, you start a tab by leaving your credit card with the cashier. They give you a tap card that lets you pour your own drinks. You can sample just a little or fill up a whole glass. It's completely up to you. They have everything from beer and wine to a few craft cocktails on tap. If you want to try something different, you can swap out your glass and keep exploring. The same tap card also activates all of the arcade games, which I thought was a really cool touch. It makes everything feel connected instead of having to carry around a bunch of tokens or cash. When I visited, they were hosting trivia night. It definitely brought in a crowd. Most of the tables were full, so walking around got a little tight because the space isn't very big. Even so, the atmosphere was lively. It felt like everyone was having a good time. I ended up trying the Cranberry Mule, which I really enjoyed. It was nice being able to pour just the amount I wanted instead of committing to a full drink. Overall, I had a really fun time here. It's a unique spot that gives you something a little different from your typical bar. Once you're ready to leave, you just close out your tab and head home. I'd definitely come back with a group of friends.

Everything is so clean but it has a very good rustic and real feel to it. The drinks here are my favorite because to be honest, I'm a sours beer kind of guy and they have a whole building dedicated to it. The amount of variety when it comes to sours is great a prices are fair. Flavors pop but theirs also a good enough selection if you want a more chill sour that won't punch you in the face. The other building (not sure which is considered the main ones) has a large selection of your typical IPAs, lagers, you name it. The flavors are good and they seems to have some deals going on from time to time for cans to take home which I can appreciate. They also have a few board games to keep you entertained and seem to consistently have some options fora food vendor as well as many times having live music. Definitely worth the visit on a day you see them having one of these vendors or live bands you may be interested in. The people here seem to be very friendly with their regulars and greet you as if you're a friend. I think this bodes well with breweries considering you're usually here to have a good time and chill. I wouldn't say it feels like the reason I'd come back at all but no complaints here. Just didn't feel like out of this world service by any means.
