I just wanted real food after a long day in the emergency room. I ordered online, the food was completed fairly quickly. But once I get into the store, all the staff were rude. The two at the door couldn't stop flirting with each other long enough to actually show me where to go pick up my to go order. And then once I stood there at least five people walked by me without even acknowledging that I'm staying there. I am a large black woman in a very colorful dress. It's kind of impossible not to see me. Then the same three or four people came right by and said oh they are going to help me. If I had just grabbed my to go bag that was clearly sitting there I would've been accused of stealing. Period. Finally, someone comes out to the to go area and starts filling with the computer and says"oh somebody's gonna help you in a minute" I have been standing there without help for several minutes straight. And I just said "can't you just hand me that bag with my name on it info he finally did. I hate bad customer service? I understand why you have such low reviews and I should've checked the reviews before I ordered. Tell your staff to spend less time flirting with each other and actually help the customers. I'm too angry to even check the food right now but once I get home if it's bad, there will be a part two to this review read more

They're right it's not my go to restaurant. The beer is great and cold. The food is OK I'm gonna say average but consistent to other chilies. I'm not a big fan of their food, but I am not bashing them. It is good.. Their prices are still OK too. Go hang out have a drink and an appetizer you will enjoy it. read more

I will say this first, they were busy and it is Friday during a padres game but my wife and I both ordered the 3 for me thing. Dined 6/12/26 about 6:00 pm. Only ate about half the order. Asked for to go box. Server brought 4" plastic clam shell. It was obvious food wouldn't fit and asked for larger container. Was told there weren't any larger and was offered a second small container. It was awkward stuffing all the food into the small containers. I challenged the server by asking if they sold to go orders then there had to be larger containers. She insisted they didn't have any. Called today spoke with manager and she acknowledged they discourage employees to not provide the larger containers. This is a major restaurant chain, how pathetic! read more

Not sure how she was able to do that when I specifically remember giving enough money to round out the check to an even number as I always do but thankfully the manager Eric was able to figure everything out. Although I do feel it is important to tip she placed two things wrong on the receipt, left empty cups on table, and rarely checked in. Other than that, our food was yummy, and the place was clean. Typical pandemic procedures in place. Though the way they seated us seemed less than 6 feet apart from other seated parties. Our table shared a partition with the bar area but that partition was only a half wall so in essence was sitting next to the people at the table in the bar area. Just noting that in case you're particular about that stuff. They have all the sanitizing products out and they wipe down the booths. All the paper towels in the bathroom were out though -- just find the rolls they use for cleaning the booths and tear off a piece since that's where all the paper towels went. ;P We enjoyed our time at this Chili's. The only thing that was bothersome was that the service was a bit slow, but we were grateful for the tabletop tablet thing. Chili's is always a good time with friends and family. They're affordable and kid-friendly. They have a great Happy Hour menu. There are decent low calorie options and there's a usually a Pick 2 or Pick 3 deal going on. There's something for everyone here. Yes, they're a chain restaurant and yes, it gets crowded and can be noisy but it's also consistent and reliable. Our server Jessica really went above and beyond on our last visit so I'm giving this review four stars. read more

The food is bad. The salad me and my family was served tasted bad. We asked the waitress to swap it out for soup. We didn't want to swap it out for another salad because we suspect we would only get served more bad salad. I ordered the 6oz sirloin steak which came with broccoli and mashed potato. The broccoli was rotten! I brought it to the waitress' attention but she seemed annoyed. I did not ask for the broccoli to be replaced because I suspect that I would be served with more bad broccoli. The last 2 times we ordered for pick up have been the worse meals that I have had. Ribs were dry like jerky with sauce on them meal for our family was $100.00. Our next order about a week later we ordered steak and it was overcooked and very dry! Another $100.00 We are done with chillis. read more

Very poor service, at this location which I have never been to. I came here to eat the sirlion for $10.99, which was one of the 3 for $10.99 deals at the time, but when i arrived, no one knew about it. I sat at the bar. The lady at the bar couldn't get it together, like serving me my food without giving me silverware to eat it with, and taking forever to bring it to me, while my food got cold. My drink was supposed to be included, but they didn't know. i had to tell them every little thing. So many things went wrong, too many to list here, it was mostly about "not thinking" and paying attention to details. The Southwest chicken enchilada soup is always good rhough..... The people sitting next to me, agreed with the poor service. it is like I had to tell them every little thing about basic needs. Took her forever to bring memy drink, too, like 30 min. Maybe it was cos they coulda been so short staffed, cos it was during Covid around Oct 2021. Their Big mouth burgers are on point! They were so darn good that we came back a second time. And again they did not disappoint. The burgers were consistently good even the second time around. The french fries were soft hot, corn on the cob fresh and chicken tenders were delicious. The barbecue and bacon rancher are a must try. Don't forget to try their mango Presidente margarita, yum. 3.5 STARS A friend was in town and we wanted to grab some lunch. We chose Chili's in La Mesa primarily because of its convenient proximity to us and him. The last time we ate at Chili's we decided that it would be the l a s t time we ate at Chili's, but there we were. At Chili's. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was actually pretty good. Not great mind you, but mostly pretty damn good. We started with chips and salsa. Chili's tortilla chips are really good. Light and crispy and they keep them in a warmer which is really nice. The salsa sucks. Zero heat. Glorified ketchup. Dump some Cholula or Tapatio in it to kick it up. Still not great, but it helps. I had a Smokehouse Combo and chose to double up on the Jalapeno/Cheddar Sausage for my two choices. I'm not sure they actually doubled up. It didn't seem like much for a double order, especially at $16.99. It also came with fries, a slice of Texas toast and an ear of Chili's version of Mexican corn on the cob. The sausage was good. It had a good snap to it and was flavorful. It really wasn't any better than typical grocery store sausage, but it was good. The fries were okay. The Texas toast was really good. What floored me was the Mexican corn. It was fantastic. It really was. I don't know how traditional it was, but it was certainly tasty! Becky had a cup of their Tortilla soup and she very much enjoyed it. She was very surprised that she liked it so much. Our friend liked his grilled chicken sandwich. He, too, thought that the fries were just okay. We sat at a tall table in the bar area and the service good. Can't remember her name, but she was friendly and attentive. Perhaps Chili's has improved? Paris was a FANTASTIC server. She was sweet, attentive, and on top of her section. She offered drinks and desserts, and checked in on us often but did not hover. An Old Timer with Cheese is a cheeseburger - with mustard and raw onions rather than with "secret sauce" and cooked onions. I still prefer the Lunch Double Burger to both (even though with 2 patties it is a little smaller). I also prefer substituting black beans for the standard fries and to mix them with Chicken Enchilada Soup. IF you order either ice tea or half ice tea half lemonade, I suggest asking for whatever fruit flavored syrup might be desired be brought in a separate container for you to add on your own and thus control both taste and amount of sugar/sweetness/empty calories is added. IF you order a "secret sauce" burger; I would also recommend asking for the sauce "on the side". read more

I hadn't been to the Chili's in a couple of years. Not because I was avoiding it, I was just eating out less and being more selective. I got there a bit early with my mother-in-law, at 5 PM. She ordered the four piece chicken strips meal with the mac & cheese and fries. I ordered an old timer cheeseburger, without the red onion. Service was great the ambience at this location is good. The food came out fast and hot. The order was correct. The only dings I have as far as my burger was: 1) it could've been seasoned. If it was seasoned, it could've used more; and 2) the tomato slice was tiny, and it and the pickles were all in the center of the bun. I would suggest a little better quality control on the second ding. It was essentially 20 bucks for a burger, fries and a non-alcoholic drink. But, in fairness, you could easily spend 12 to 15 bucks on a combo at McDonald's. Overall, it was a positive experience. read more

I do love Chili's. The food and service are great. BUT...The bathroom is NOT wheelchair accessible. The handicap stall is right by the door and opens out towards the door, i have been hit 2 times going in and out of there in one.
