What a great birthday dinner for Mom! Our waitress was great, the food was amazing, and it wasn't too busy! 10/10

Wanted to grab a triple dipper after seeing it advertised lately with large mozzarella sticks. Unfortunately the service was not up to par. The bar only had one other couple and myself but the bar tender was responsible for way more than just the bar. She was not around much and spent most of her time in other areas tended to customers. The few times I did see her she was too busy to get to the few of us there. The food was okay but just that. Mostly I hoped for a better attention to us sitting there waiting.

Multple empleyes sitting on their phones doing nothing whole time we were eating. Tables arrived before us and didn't get their food until we were leaving. One single employee was running food while at least 10 employees stood in the doorway.

This was a nice spot to visit during lunch. Very quiet. The food was good. Wouldn't say the ranch was my daughters favorite here. We visited around noon. It wasn't busy and didn't appear to get much busier. Our waiter was pretty attentive looked like he had quite a few tables himself but again it wasn't super busy. They have a nice affordable deal for lunch not sure if it's not the dinner menu as well. Overall nice little stop very clean, and quick but still good quality

Street corn which was overcooked and mushy.

Service wasn't good. The waitress wasn't very diligent about filling drinks, then left all the empties on the table. She didn't come around much. Had the triple dipper. The chicken crispers were decent. The jalapeño sausage was good. I didn't like the ribs at all. Street corn was terrible. I posted a picture of it.

I first got the pint glass with crushed ice the menu showed the martini glass and craft which I finally got after asking.

What restaurant does not allow happy hour drinks at the table, the bar only. Also, I ordered a presidential margarita and the menu shows a martini glass and extra craft. The margarita came out in a pint glass. The server also tried to tell me it was a frozen mix but I was chewing on chunks of ice. The drink was made with crushed ice.

Great staff, food is always good. Always see the same faces which says in my opinion they have a good team all around.

It was nice so we sat on the patio. The brunch menu is small but packs a nice variety. I ordered the tater tot bowl minus bacon add chicken tinga. It was delicious. The tots were crispy, soft scramble egg, avocado, and cheesy goodness. My companion ordered the belly burger. She said it was delicious ious too. For apps we ordered the hummus. It was good. On a previous visit, I ordered the spicy peanut noodle bowl with shrimp and the dynamite shrimp app. Yum!! Both were loaded with flavor. Forgot to take a pic. From 10-11:30 on weeekends, mimosas are $1.99. What a deal!! And of course I had to try all the flavors! Cran-orange is my fav. They have a great happy hour, daily specials, kids menu, vegetarian menu and some gf options. I will definitely be back to try the pancakes and Nashville chicken Sammy. My breakfast tacos were flavorless and hubs basic breakfast was tasteless. We left a lot of food on the plates. Not a place we will be returning too. Looking around the place, everyone was ordering lots of drinks. I guess that's how the food tastes better. ‍

Service - so this was the first point of failure. Our waitress was attentive, but very loud. Additionally, she kept saying "perfect" to every response we had. Even the negative ones. I can't blame her, but some coaching is needed. Too many of our interactions were of the "hit and run" variety. She's programmed for certain questions and follow up, but doesn't really process the responses. Continuing on with the service, there were two of us, both ordering from the restaurant week menu. Well, one entree comes, not the app, nor the 2nd entree. This was delivered by what I assume was a manager (how he was dressed). No questioning about why he'd deliver one entree to a table with 2 people, so I had to ask about the rest and he was walking away. Again, a "hit and run" interaction. We did eventually get the app and other entree. Food - so we got the salmon dip app, two of the meatloaf burgers and the beignets dessert. The salmon dip was ok. Not especially flavorful, but not terrible. The pita with it was not good. It was overcooked as greasy tasting so it distracted from the dip. The burgers were mixed. I liked mine. It was flavorful, and juicy. My partner did not like hers. I chalk this up to personal preference, so would give this 4 stars on its own. The beignets. Wow, these were, in a word, awful. First, they were not as described as there was supposed to be some sort of fruit dip with it and it was missing. What we got was greasy blobs of cooked dough. These heavy, flavorless things were nothing like actual beignets. They were drizzled with this cheap chocolate syrup and this white, maybe vanilla stuff. This was a miss all around by this location. Hopefully a one off, but they've been around long enough that these issues should happen.

THANKS ERIC (with a C!!) Our food was nicely plated, temperature perfect and portions were VERY generous. The Classic Breakfast was my choice. Eggs cooked as directed, breakfast potatoes, one smallish, breakfast sausage in natural casing. A steak knife would have been helpful. I don't know the brand of bacon they serve, but it was FABULOUS! Thick sliced, prepared beautifully and mmmm, mmmm GOOD! The plate includes a Cheddar Biscuit. It is BIG and delicious LOOKING! I had to bring it, half of my potatoes and the sausage "to go". I could describe every experience with this restaurant but I'll leave you with the previous few. And I know what you're thinking, if the food was so bad, why do you keep going back? Well, hope and optimism. Rooting for Roots! We want the local place to succeed, but we've come to the conclusion that what they really need in order to improve, is honest feedback. But part of me hopes that it changes nothing. And here's why... my wife and I love this place. But in a weird way... allow me to explain, imagine the place as a Saturday Night Live sketch where the staff, the menu and ambiance are unapologetically pretentious, but the food doesn't deliver on any level. It's pure entertainment. We have dinner and an inside joke. First of all, for the price, you naturally expect elevated dishes and excellent service. We both had a cocktail, a glass of wine with dinner, an appetizer, entrees, salad and desert. Around $250 with tip. Pricey, but reasonable if the place delivers. On one visit we had the duck, which was served undercooked and when we mentioned it to the waiter, she scoffed, "that's the way it's supposed to be served." So feeling duly chastised for our ignorance, we shut up and ate the duck. I don't know the organism involved, but my wife and I were up all night vying for access to the bathroom. Enough said. Things were dicey, but no trips to the hospital. Six months or so had passed and finally, last night we rolled the dice and tried Roots again. My wife said her dinner was fine. She had stuffed salmon, adequate, but not great. For me, It was between the steak and the pork belly. Now I had the steak before once and it was... well it was definitely a steak. I'm not going to say much about it except for this... if you like the taste of a good glass of water, order the steak. So having experienced the steak already, I ordered the pork belly, which is an extremely tasty and forgiving cut of meat in my experience. But somehow at Roots, they figured out how to prepare it poorly. Yikes! It was dry as a bone, but only in the places where it wasn't tough as shoe leather. It had to have sounded like a rock when it hit the plate. The naturally rich flavor was cooked completely out of it, and any surviving seasonings were successfully burned away during the cremation process. I was starving so I made a valiant effort at finishing it, but it took several glasses of water and an inordinate amount of chewing. My wife laughed at me the whole time. I offered her a bite but she demurred, quipping that it had been a long week and she simply didn't have the energy. It was served with a "slaw" that consisted primarily of a plain sliced onion and slices of flavorless apple devoid of seasoning or dressing. I honestly don't know how this dish made it out of the kitchen, let alone a chef's imagination. It has become a quest for my wife and me. Like the holy grail of dining experiences, only a few minutes from our home. Ever the optimists, we will just keep trying Roots again every six months or so and hope for better on each trip... or not. If you're looking for a unique dining experience, please try Roots. We want them to succeed so we can keep coming back and having these comically terrible experiences. If pretentious irony is your spirit animal, please try roots. And Roots, please keep trying. We will keep spending $250 bucks for "dinner" and a show. PS, to add to your experience, ask for a booth when you arrive for your reservation, they will look you up and down and politely say "no" as they walk you past 4 empty booths. No explanation...

I stopped in with my girlfriend Lisa, who loves this place so much they basically have a little corner reserved for her. She likes to work from there because the Wi-Fi is good, the vibe is comfortable, and the food is consistently amazing. We sat at the bar, had a couple glasses of wine, and Austin took great care of us. Lisa had the steak special, which was the ribeye, and I had the salmon. Both were really, really great. The salmon was cooked beautifully and the whole meal was exactly why I keep coming back. One small callout: there was a $3 difference between what the salmon was listed for on the menu and what I was charged. I let Austin know so they could catch it for future guests. It did not change my overall experience, but I appreciated being able to mention it. Brandon, one of the co-owners, is amazing. He came out and spoke with us, and that personal touch is part of what makes Roots feel special. You can tell they care about the food, the service, and the people who come in. Their happy hour is amazing, and their seasonal menu changes are superb. I love coming in and trying different things. The salmon tacos are delicious, the birria fries are a must, and I always look forward to seeing what new crostini they are featuring since those change every few months. Roots is consistent without being boring. Great food, great service, great drinks, and a menu that keeps giving you a reason to come back. Can't wait to come back. See y'all next week.

We arrived around 5:30pm on a Saturday and were told there would be about a 10-minute wait, so we opted to grab seats at the bar and have dinner there instead. As the evening went on, we learned there are some trade-offs to dining at the bar. As the restaurant filled up, the bar area became increasingly busy and service naturally slowed. Small but noticeable details -- like water refills -- started getting overlooked. I was also surprised our server never checked in with my wife about her Chicken Pasta, especially since she barely touched it. We started with the Caesar Salad, which was excellent. The portion size was enormous -- easily large enough for two people to share -- with crisp romaine, generous dressing, and plenty of shaved Parmesan. I'm a longtime prime rib fan, so seeing it featured immediately caught my attention. The 13-ounce cut arrived perfectly medium rare, exactly as ordered. The meat was exceptionally tender and flavorful, complemented nicely by a rich au jus and a creamy horseradish ("horsey") sauce that added just the right kick. My wife ordered the Chicken Pasta, which arrived as a very generous portion that could easily serve two. The dish featured grilled chicken over pasta in a spicy Asiago cream sauce. Unfortunately, the heat level was stronger than expected and ended up overpowering the dish for her, leaving most of it uneaten. One highlight of the evening was the Double Black Diamond Martini -- an infusion of fresh pineapple with New Amsterdam Pineapple Vodka. At $7.95 during Happy Hour (normally $13.95), it felt like one of the best values on the menu and was refreshing without being overly sweet. The restaurant was packed throughout our visit and clearly has a loyal following. After six years in this location, Firebirds seems to have built a strong customer base. With a bit more attentiveness to bar diners during peak hours, the experience could easily move from good to great.
