I was just stopping in for a nice lunch and I was truly impressed with the Lasagna the sauce was the star you could tell it was truly homemade simmer to such a rich, dark, red and thickness. The seasonings have married together like somebody's Nonna made it. I did order a extra piece of garlic bread to just dip in it. It was so good. I will say if you're not a big meat eater don't get it. It is famous for it's tons of meat, not a lot of noodles and ricotta cheese, but the flavor was so on point. I also had a dinner salad with it. Popped in on a Friday night about 6:45. Place was busy, but had a table available. As other reviews stated, service is a little slow. But nothing I would complain about. I ordered the hamburger sliders with French fries. The burgers were good, tasted like home made burgers. Not frozen. French fries had some texture on them and those aren't my favorite. But they were hot and tasted ok. Husband had blackened catfish with red beans and rice. He enjoyed the catfish but said he would not get red beans and rice again. He did eat it all. Service is really good, beers are cold and there's always a game on the TVs. Just about everything we've had was solid, with one exception. The Italian beef is a huge disappointment. Something has changed. A year or two ago, it was pretty good. But the last 3 times I've tried it (twice onsite and once via carry out) it's been surprisingly bad. The beef itself isn't sliced thin enough and is bland. It's chewy to the point it's almost rubbery. If there are supply issues or something like that, I think they might want to consider taking it off the menu until the kinks are worked out. It's just not very good and could be a pain point for guests expecting something a bit more authentic. Everything else we've tried, has all been good. Apps, burgers, entrees etc. Chicago dog is good as well. read more

My dine-in lunch experience at this new location was very good. The grilled chicken sandwich with cheese, bacon, and a side of steamed veggies ($10.49) was delicious. Unfortunately, my meal was served in 20 minutes, there was no lunch menu, and the few, random, daily specials weren't that special (10% off). The service was somewhat friendly, and cheerful, while the dining area and bar were nicely done in this fairly new building. There were plenty of TVs tuned to sports channels, with sound coming from the TVs. There was also a patio, but no tables or chairs yet. The menu included Chicago style dogs and sandwiches, and a weekend brunch. I'm thinking 3.5 stars and rounding up. read more

I was hesitant in trying Windy City pub, but my husband wanted to try it. He had the Mediterranean grill and liked it, I had a burger, it was standard issue. The service was very slow. Our waitress said she was there for 26 years, was very knowledgeable, but didn't check on us when the food took way too long to arrive and made us wait for a to-go box and check. I happened to be in the neighborhood and decided to give this new pub a try. After doing so, I give it a solid 'mediocre' 1st the good: There is plenty of parking, no real safety concerns, the restaurant/ bar area seemed clean, and there was a good size gathering of regular customers having fun. That gave the place a good vibe. The flavor of my Vienna dog was good and my chips were freshly cooked & served hot. The challenges: there are no food happy hour specials. I asked if there were any HH drink specials and the lady tending bar said margaritas were discounted. When I got my check, I saw it was discounted. By $.25 cents. Seriously, why bother? The menu offered to grill the hotdogs upon request so I took them up on it. When I got my Chi hotdog, it was barely warm. And finally, I could not get enough of the blue cheese dressing on my chips to taste blue cheese even slightly. It was a mediocre, generic cream salad dressing base with a few pieces of nondescript cheese pieces. The bartender kept pretty busy with several regular customers but that meant others were sitting and waiting. Too bad someone else didn't come in to help her better take care of their customers. I suspect the service might have been quicker if I would have sat at high top table. That's usually not the case, but I think it was here. Overall, my favorite thing about this little place was the other customers. Oh and, the board with bad jokes on it --that was kind of fun. Apparently they have nightly specials that look good in the pictures. Just don't think the real experience would come close to what was represented if my experience tonight is any indication. This probably should be a two star rating, but the customer base bumped it up. read more

No kids menus - it was over $13 for sliders and $11 for grilled cheese 5. Service was a little slow (waited 10 min to get drinks, didn't take order until app got there) 6. We came here to watch the Preakness and enjoyed their specials - including the boiled shrimp for this pescatarian! A group of 10 or so ladies who called ahead several days to make arrangements came in on a Monday night. The service was so bad. The waitress was very frazzled and a little snippy. At one point she informed us she'd been there all day. The food took FOREVER. I think my nachos would have been really good if they had been even remotely fresh or hot. This place and environment is so chill and fun! We sat at the bar, and the bartender gave us really great suggestions on the food. The only negative were the "drink specials." We asked what the specials were for the day, and she told us that buckets of domestic beers were on special, so we ordered one. However, when we got our check, we saw that our bucket of Mich. Ultra's (5 bottles) had been $18!! I definitely wouldn't call that a drink special! But other than that, we loved the staff and the Chicago menu so we plan to return!! read more

I agree with the reviewer who states that the patrons and staff and not following safety protocols. Windy City Pub used to be one of our "regular" spots but not anymore and probably not ever again. Holy crap the service sucks!!! I feel bad for the poor waitress. I don't think it was her fault. Since Coaches flooded I figured I would give this place a shot. The first two times I have been there it was great. Tonight I take my family there after a rough couple of weeks with a close family member's health has declined. The bar was half full and the restaurant portion was at about a third capacity. All we ordered was appetizers and some drinks. 45 minutes later still no food but other patrons who got there much later were half way through their meal. I finally asked to talk to the manager. The bar tender pointed to a man named John and identified him as one of the owners. 30 seconds later I got my hot wings brought to my table. They were cold as if the had just come out of the refrigerator and on to my plate Of course I sent them back. An hour into waiting our food was brought back to my table. Still no word from John the owner or anyone from management. Don't waste your time or money at this place. I hear Conrad's is opening up down the street by Minskeys. This is probably a better choice I know one thing... I am never going back to the Windy City Pub and am letting everyone I know to do the same. I can only hope Coaches finds a new venue in the area. read more
