Went to Manteca Chilis yesterday and ordered the beef fajitas. Sorry to say that the meat pieces they used were rubbery and had same texture of gristle, and the Spanish rice served with it was like the Lipton instant packaged rice! I was really disappointed! Husband always gives us a few choices to go for dinner or lunch. Chili's Hands Down wins. We all have our favorites mine the grilled margarita chicken,my husband ALWAYS orders the old Timer Burger. My sons well they like the fact of endless soda their cup is always full . No Chili's in our city. The nearest Chili's is about 20 miles. We choose to go 25 miles to the newest chili's in Manteca,Ca. GREAT Employees so friendly and the best customer service. It is always busy but they sure do attend to everyones needs with prompt service, and always a SMILE. I was so dissatisfied with the service there today. I do not know what has happened to this place, but very poor service. We had to flag down the waitress a few times. We ordered our beverages and it took longer for the beverages than the dinner. We never got the chips we ordered. Two orders were incomplete. We never got refills on our drinks. On the bill was the chips we never received and I had to have them remove it. You have to flag down the waitress for the bill. All I can say the 3 of who was there was very dissatisfied. It was never like this before, it has truly gone down hill. Sad because I really like Chili's, I will have to go to Modesto next time. read more

Had a sign to go to bartender for orders and after standing there for 10 minutes without even being greeted she told me to back to the area where the sign clearly to go to her and that she would send someone back. My family and I ate here last night and it was pretty busy. I had kind of written Chili's off a while ago but I don't know if there's been new management or what...but much better!!! They have redone there menu and my fav so far is the fajita meal. Our waiter was nice...but he wasn't very prompt with drinks and things. Perhaps because they were busy...also the girl who carried our food out accidentally let my husbands ribs slide off the plate and didn't even know they had. LoL but they were very diligent in getting news ones right away...and gave him a full rack instead of half at no additional charge. I'd def come here again. I would of rated it a 5 star...but waiter needs to learn to prioritize and not get frazzled when it's busy. read more

So my best friend and I decided to do some shopping in Manteca last night. We came to here about 9:15pm. It was pretty much dead.There were maybe a couple people in the dining area. There was no one up in the front to greet us. A customer who was waiting told us that we could go sit in the bar area and not have to wait.. LOL Hope she got paid for helping us. So we sat in the bar area they were half way full in there. There were already menu's on the table. We weren't there long time the waitress told us she would be right with us. Guess she was the only one in the bar area besides the bartender. We got our drinks and ordered. We decided to do the 2 for $20 deal. We got the chips and salsa and guacamole appetizer. The guacamole was really good with corn. The salsa was watery and didn't stay on the chip very well. =0/ I ordered the Chicken club Quesadillas.When I first picked up it I was very confused because they had made it layered by sticking two toritilla's together with cheese and then underneath that was all the chicken peppers, onions and such. So I pretty much had to eat it with a fork and knife because it was messy. Then we saw the Chocolate Chip Paradise pie and it was love at first site. It had a chewy bar of chocolate chips, walnuts and coconut. Topped with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge and caramel. It was delish!!!! Another reason for the 3 stars is it was freezing in there! First time in here and I was not impressed, while my waitress who's name I don't know because she did not tell me was sweet the food was not good if I am going to spend nearly $60 on a med rare steak with a full order of shrimp I expect just that I got my steak med well and no shrimp then they brought me a half order of shrimp that wasn't cooked all the way. My husband ordered the same dinner and never got his shrimp at all he asked for rare steak and got a med. I don't know what the cooks idea was of med rare and rare but what we got was nothing close. I did however enjoy the fried pickles. Wouldn't recommend it for the steak n shrimp. read more

Never going to this place again! The manager is extremely rude and inconsiderate. When we came to happy hour here she asked for drinks, we ordered beer, and she asked to check our id's. Once she got them she kept starring at my friends id for like 5 mins, we asked her if there was a problem and she said it didn't look like him. (The picture was pretty old like 6 years) because of this we offered her a more current state of California id from work that has a more current picture and birth date on it. She continued to look closely at both id's like the picture was gonna change and even after I told her rude she was being she continued to stare at it. The second id we offered her was less than a year old. She said he looked darker and skinnier in his drivers license picture. I told her she should really reevaluate the way she talks to her customers and that it's normal for people to gain or lose weight after 6-7 years! We got up and left because god knows how long it would've taken her to bring us a beer and I refuse to give them my money. Great location, great value....we arrived after a softball game, with a group of 10. The manager and servers were very accommodating our large party with quick service. The lunch menu is a great value and good food and more than enough food for lunch. Great spot will come again. read more

My husband and I ate dinner there the other night. We sat on bar side and it wasn't very busy at the time. I picked up a menu and it had crusty food on it. YUCK!! So I picked up another and it was also crusty with food. There really is no excuse for that especially if its not busy they should wipe things down after each customer. My food was fine. Had dinner with the fam and it was delish!! Well worth the some what long wait. My steak was just the way I asked for it. My kids are 5 & 3 and they enjoyed they're corn on the cob! I love Manteca chili's it's the best restaurant in town. The food is always hot and delicious. We had the tropical sunrise margaritas OMG!!!!! To die for, refreshing and after a hard day at work they hit the spot. The general manager came by and asked us how are food was and of course we told her VERY VERY GOOD!! Every time I go to Chili's, when I leave, I always ask myself why I keep coming back. Yet another national franchise that has nothing new to offer, and the prices are more than they should be. The quality of the service varies, from responsive to "oh, were you guys wanting a waiter?". So me and my boyfriend came in on Friday night cause we always go to Applebee's and we love it at Applebee's but we wanted to switch it up for once. And boy was that a mistake! We were able to seat ourselves since we were in the bar. Our server who I don't even think mentioned her name, asked for our drink order and we weren't sure yet so we just asked for waters. And as we were looking through the drink menus which were limited to choose from. All they really have are margaritas and some beer. So that was a bummer. But while we were looking through our menus, she comes back like 5 minutes later with no waters yet we went on ordering bar drinks. And then about 10 minutes later we receive them and she walks away. me and my bf are patiently waiting for our order to be taken (keep in mind that me and my boyfriend are both servers in different restaurants so we understand and can be patient when it comes to things that go on in a restaurant). Our server kept walking past our table TONS of times. I'm not exaggerating. I even noticed she was getting bored at some point because she was pretty much standing around doing nothing. She even got sat another table and helped them with everything right away. And I had thought hmm maybe she helped us to help another server out.. So we kept waiting. And waiting. But the server who helped us in the beginning kept walking past us and would even slightly stop by our table and gave us awkward eye contact yet still go about walking away. At that point we had probably spend a good 30 minutes there and I was like well this is why we should stay loyal to Applebee's! We never touched our drinks either. So we got up and left. But as servers we felt bad to just leave and honestly it felt sucky to be treated that way, so we told the manager and she was super super apologetic towards us and offered to serve us but we were over it. Props to her trying to handle the situation but I'll tell you that the service that server provided is not gonna do her well with what her job entails. All I know is if that type of service would get you fired at my restaurant. It definitely left me with never wanting to go back to this exact location! read more
