Cute new spot in pleasanton. The food was pretty good and they had a ton of vegetarian options which I appreciate. The staff were super friendly joking around with us. They even split the meal onto two separate plates for us. The food was reasonable priced, around 20-25 per dish. However, a fountain soda was $5 and the fee to split the meal was $3, which we felt was a bit excessive. Otherwise it was a cute place to stop for a quick lunch! read more

The food here was good. We visited on a Tuesday around 11:45am and were seated quickly. It was not very busy. There were about four other people (two tables) in the outdoor patio area. We ordered a poached salmon and a Mexican salad with grilled salmon. There are many healthy options on their menu. Please be advised, however, that their "grilled salmon" is actually fried on a flat metal grill (like McDonalds) not a grilled on a rack over charcoal. read more

We were the only patrons inside so service was quick and friendly. The food is pretty decent. I think the food and flavors are definitely catered to the demographic of the area. I thought it was a little weird that the default rice of the roasted pork carnitas was brown rice. I did enjoy the Spanish rice better. Pork was nice and tender, but I do wish the meat was cooked with the sauce instead of just being placed on top of it. Beans are okay, I think I would have preferred the refried beans instead as the black beans didn't have much flavor. read more

Tasty!!!!!! Stopped in for an early dinner on a Wednesday and ordered the carne asada. You order at the register and the server took care of me amazingly. I sat outside and within I received the freshest salsa, chips and my beverage. The salsa was delicious and the chips were fresh and crispy. I then received my piping hot order. The carne asada was mildly seasoned and had a nice texture - seemed like it was braised. The rice was awesome and the beans weren't typical, they tasted fresh as well. With hot tortilla in hand I proceeded to make small burritos with the fresh onion, guacamole, salsa, hot sauce, rice and a little bit of beans. It was fantastic. Met some friends here for a late lunch yesterday (6/7/2025). One of my friends is a vegetarian and her mom recommended it because their menu has a vegetarian section. I got the mushroom enchiladas and my friends got the veggie and fish burritos. Though they weren't the same caliber as their counterpart at Sideboard in Lafayette, the mushroom enchiladas were very good. My friends enjoyed their burritos and one took theirs home as they were quite large. Only downside is that they seem to guard the bathroom - when I asked where it was, I was told there was a wait. While a wait isn't unusual, what was unusual was that they wouldn't let me go back to where the bathroom is and wait for someone to come out. Because the person i asked couldn't give me an estimated time of the wait, I decided to use it at the coffee shop we went to afterwards. Friendly service - our waters were filled regular and we didn't have to wait long for our food. I'd come back if in the area to try more items! read more

First time trying this place in a new town. I chose to sit outside in the sun since it was a lovely day out. The gentleman who waited on me was very kind and checked on me frequently. I am a sucker for flautas de papa and when I saw on the menu that they had potato enchiladas too, I was torn and didn't know which one to order. The server recommended the taquitos to me so I went with that. The order came with four and I was full off of two, very filling. Would definitely come back to try the potato enchiladas next time. My husband and I were looking for somewhere new to eat and found this place in downtown Pleasanton. The sign is a bit hidden but the store is located between Peet's coffee and Almare Gelato. There are a few tables in doors and some outdoor seating available as well. We ordered the chicken and shrimp enchiladas and mango habanero steak. Ok , really love this cute gem of a place in Pleasanton downtown . This is Mexican served fresh and yummy with healthier options thrown in and quite a few vegetarian options . The quinoa , sweet potato's , farro are welcome additions . A lot on their menu features organic items . Their enchilada sauce is a bomb of flavors and that blackened salmon so tastefuly done . When I got to the restaurant at 1:25pm today I casually went in and asked if they had gluten free options. I do this every time I go into a restaurant since I have an allergy usually I get told yes or no. End of conversation. That was not the case here. The response was argumentative and rude. I was quickly told no and that there are NO restaurants whatsoever that are gluten free safe. My response was that I have experienced that some places are. He said "I've been working in the industry for over 30 years and no restaurants are" laughed and scoffed. I said "there's no problem some places can do their best and they aren't perfect and some say no. Thank you for your honesty about yours. Have a good day". He told me he wasn't going to give me business. I was trying to leave and he kept on telling me I wasn't going to find a gluten free restaurant anywhere. I told him okay bye have a nice day. I've had this saved in my Yelp bookmarks for a WHILE, and finally... it was time to test out Wild One! Like other reviewers have mentioned, this is a healthy spin on Mexican cuisine... Very LA circa 2012 kind of vibes. We tried- Nachos (6/10): There is no cheese, which for me is okay (I'm just not a cheese girly), but for my dining partner that was an absolute violation of Nacho Law. I enjoyed the creama, pretty guac drizzle, and fresh veggies, however something with oomph was needed... either a spicy salsa or a whole ton of flavorful guac. I wouldn't order again. Carne Asada.... Fries??? (8/10): We ordered the carne asada fries, and I believe the carne asada plate was served (or else the fries just don't come with fries???) BUT, this was the shining star of the meal... sooo juicy, so flavorful- SO much flavor! Delicious! This is your must order. Camerones California (5/10): Nothing was bad, but nothing was great... Looking at another reviewers picture, I was hoping for blackened shrimp (in my opinion, the most underrated kind of shrimp). Instead, I received lightly grilled shrimp with no seasoning. The fresh veggies and brown rice were a healthy alternative to the tradition Mexican fare, but they were awfully bland. The salad on the side with a blue cheese dressing was the only flavor found in my plate, and I had to use it in my bites to bring my mouth some joy. Service (8/10): The young man who took care of us was very polite and genuine. He was completely overwhelmed to be solo with a party of 12 along with two other tables at the ripe time of 4pm, but him and the cook handled it as best as we could have hoped for. Ambiance (8/10): I would come back just for the patio! Cute tables spaced apart, just off the sidewalk... perfect for a romantic but semi-casual date night. This was my first time here and the food was amazing. It took awhile to decide what to order, I opted for the Wild One Nachos. I love nachos and this didn't disappoint, loaded with beans, onions, sour cream, chicken, guacamole, pico de gallo, cotija cheese, and avocado sauce. The chicken was an add on and extra, I believe $3 extra. The nachos were tasty with a slight spicy kick. We had the popular red citrus sangria that wasn't too sweet. The food was delicious as well as the tasty refreshing cocktail. The service was prompt, friendly, the ambiance quiet and the restaurant small in space. Received excellent service with a warm greeting and prompt seating. The restaurant offers what seems like a fusion twist on Mexican cuisine. The plate presentation is impressive, creating an enticing visual appeal. Our appetizers, crispy plantains, and queso dip, were a mixed experience. While the queso dip was fine, the plantains missed the mark--lacking crispiness, flavor, and the sour cream was watery and again not adding to the flavor of the plantains. We asked for margaritas and were told they didn't have any but then were offered the drink if we were okay with a wait. The waiter then seemed to go get some margarita mix, it wasn't tasty and tasted like lemonade. I couldn't taste any alcohol. The chicken dishes, despite intriguing combinations like Chicken Limón with strawberry salsa and arugula, left much to be desired. The thin, unseasoned chicken, clashing sweet, sour, savory flavors detracted from what looks like a good dish on paper. The authenticity of Mexican cuisine seems to be missing, the positive reviews regarding service align with our experience. Left with mixed emotions, appreciating the great service but hoping for an improvement in the culinary authenticity and flavors. I had a coke with shrimp nachos. This establishment is unlike your typical Mexican restaurant. Our outdoor service was excellent. The server was very gracious and hospitable. The presentation of the entree was artistic and would be rated 5 stars! I asked our server if that was common across all entrees and he responded in the affirmative. They use quality ingredients. The nachos were not your typical ones you would fine but kind of a cleaner and aesthetically prettier variety. Think of it as appearing " high ended ". The dish was attractive looking. The food was good, but service was awful. So we took the Mexican Cesar Salad and asked to substitute chicken with avocado since we had done this in the past. The salad with chicken is priced at $20. In the past it was suggested by them that we can substitute chicken with avocado.. But this time our receipt had an extra $3 for the avocado. The server refused to change anything even after we told him that we had done the substitution in the past. Also the toilet was dirty and smelled really bad. Dropped in on Memorial Day for lunch based on the reviews, and it was kind of a disappointment. Our experience e was more mid 3 stars, but I'm giving a 4 because 3 is a bit harsh when this could've just been a bad day for them. The service was not attentive but it was friendly. It really wasn't crowded at 1:30 PM, but there was only one person serving. Maybe someone called in sick... I'm not sure. So I'm giving him a little grace for being alone. The food was fine but not great. The fajitas were pretty good but under-seasoned, the tropical prawn bowl was basically just a salad... On a plate, not a bowl, and the chicken Caesar was not bad. The sweet potatoes were really good, but the dipping sauce was bland, which was a bummer. Because their food is under-seasoned, bringing some sort of salsa, peppers, hot sauce, something.... ANYTHING...to the table would've made it a better experience. We had to get up, walk inside the restaurant and ask for hot sauce and water (twice before we got some & it was hot out!) Just so you know that we are not just impatient, we were there for easily an hour and a half for lunch, and it's not a fancy sit down restaurant. It's fancier than restaurants Chipotle...but not a lot. I think if they could just a make a few tweaks, this place could be a lot better. I probably won't go back. read more
