However, the chicken itself had an unusual flavor that wasn't my favorite. The waffle seemed as though it had been sitting for a while before being served--it was cold, somewhat squishy, and lacked the fresh texture I was expecting. We also ordered a waffle and bacon for the kids, but the whipped cream that was supposed to accompany it was forgotten. Service was another area that fell short of expectations. Guests are required to walk up and place their own orders, then wait for the food to be brought out. For a restaurant that presents itself as a more upscale dining experience, I was expecting traditional table service. Overall, it was still a pleasant experience, and I'm glad I gave it a try. While there were aspects that didn't meet my expectations, the beautiful outdoor setting made for an enjoyable visit.
