We tried to eat at Chili's Grill & Bar tonight. My family and I arrived around 8:00 p.m. It was busy, but we were seated pretty quickly. Our server came over right away, got our drinks, and brought chips and salsa. Unfortunately, after that, about 45 minutes went by and no one ever came back to check on us, refill our drinks or chips, or even take our order. We watched multiple tables around us get served and taken care of while we were completely overlooked. We eventually got up to try to speak with a manager, and the interaction was incredibly disappointing. The manager was extremely rude. In all my years in the restaurant business, I have never experienced service handled this poorly. Sadly, I do not recommend this Chili's based on our experience tonight. read more

I can't believe that they have removed their roasted corn on the cob from their menu. This has absolutely put a halt to my eating there. We decided to order some takeout from Chili's today after a long day at work. I ordered a steak with mashed potatoes and broccoli. It was uniquely terrible. It was as if the cook had grown up isolated in an Antarctic research station, surviving off rehydrated protein biscuits until one day a visitor had described steak to them. I would not be shocked to find that the steak had been grown in a lab. It was bad. The potatoes weren't much better. That said, my son enjoyed his pasta and my wife's burger was reportedly ok. I always bragged how this chilis was the best one. Not anymore. My daughter ordered a cheeseburger, fries and tea. I ordered a bowl of chili. My chili came out after the burger and it was a cup of chili not a bowl. This is a hard review to write, because, for a chain that I've been to all around the world, the food here really is great. Better than most, even. It's hot and fresh every time. And my burger, for example, was delicious and moist and had everything I asked for. However. The service. Is. HORRIBLE. And I don't mean that my server was horrible, I mean that it's evident that this location needs some serious management overhaul. My server was kind and courteous, but took a very long time to get our order and get our food to us (and when we take our 2yo with us, it's hard enough without slow service). She was super sweet, but I even overheard her and the hostess talk about needing "thick skin" to work there because it's just that rough. I really feel for them, but it also makes for a pretty tough restaurant experience. I'm sure they're understaffed as well, but there's just a lot of changes that need to be made from what I can see. I may come back for a drink or if we're really desperate (we were Whole30-ing and could find stuff there last time), but otherwise it's not gonna stay on my list unless I see some improvements. read more

When I asked for a vodka tonic, I received a vodka soda. My friends received the drinks that they ordered. The only saving grace to the evening was the specials. They do a 2 for 1 on certain drinks to include beers, wines and liquors. So the evening was not very expensive. With Buffalo Wild Wings open next door, I can see some competition for Chilis now. I eat at Chili's every drill weekend. I get to eat here on the Navy's dime once a month (thank you, taxpayers) and I have tried a variety of stuff. I usually order my food to-go online then grab it and take it back to my room. My food is always nice and warm and prepared perfectly. I've never had a bad experience with them and I've been going there for a while now. My personal favorite is the chicken and waffles. They're so good! And I'm signed up for their emails so I almost always land a free queso or salsa and chips every time I go there. So do that.
