So great! I wasn't really 'feeling' seafood or southern when my wife recommended this place, but wow was I wrong. Any of the proteins blackened are absolutely delicious, as are the side dishes. I chose this place last night because it was walking distance from my hotel. I sat at bar and was quickly waited on. There were probably a half dozen waitresses working. They let me sample the Smoked Catfish Dip, which is served cold. It was delicious, so I had that for my appetizer. It's a huge portion and would be more than enough for 2-3 people to share. It comes with tortilla chips and they recommend trying it with the green Tabasco sauce. That adds a little heat to it. For my beer, I had a Memphis Made Fireside Amber Ale, which paired well with the both the appetizer and my entree. My entree was the Blackened Catfish with White Beans and Hushpuppies. I also tried their Homemade Tartar Sauce and Remoulade. Everything was excellent. I noticed they do quite a bit of carry out, to go orders. It looked like their to go orders outnumbered the actual restaurant patrons inside. They had a few waitresses constantly prepping carry out bags, filling sauces, etc...almost assembly line style, just to keep up. My dinner with tip was $50 plus. read more

From the time I walked through the door the entire atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. I ordered to go and had to go to the front bar area. My server name was Brooklen ( I probably spelled her name wrong) . She was friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Please give her my thanks and appreciation. Very Disappointed Customer- My experience was awful!! I placed my order online - smoked chicken salad, add cheese and tomatoes - which is similar to the toppings on their chef salad. Well, a chef salad is what they prepared (my salad had chicken and ham). I called the restaurant and spoke to several people to explain my issue, the last being the manager on duty. She was adamant about "bagging the salad herself" attesting to it being correct. She stated that she could remake or refund. Because it was close to closing, I asked for the refund. And she stated that she couldn't do that without the food. It took 20 minutes to drive back to the restaurant for her to see that ham was on my salad and throw it in the trash. She then tells the staff that they must've put the ticket on the wrong container because she "remembers a salad with only chicken". Remake? absolutely not I hadn't patronized this establishment in a while due to service. And now, I will definitely not return. read more

We came to Soul Fish Cafe for a birthday party. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and the windows make good use of natural light. We had the fried pickles and salmon and catfish dishes. The pickles seemed to be dipped in cornmeal instead of flour. They were ok, just a little thick. The salmon was tender and the catfish was fine. My only hangup was the seating policy for parties. I understand policies are in place to be fair to everyone, especially on a busy night, but it was a dead afternoon with 5 customers in the entire restaurant and her having an attitude about it was kind of annoying. Our party consisted of 15 people, not small but not large either. The rest of the party was there, but we were made to still wait (on two people) before being seated. While the food was ok, I definitely feel like some of the staff could improve their attitudes. read more

We were early around 3:44 wasn't sore it was open. Parking lot empty. When in and nicely decorated. My wife had the blackened salmon I had fish and shrimp plate. My wife loved the salmon. Nicely prepared the cucumber sales was very good. My catfish was great. Not oily or over fried but just right. Fish was white and fluffy very good. I ordered the fried pickled green tomatoes appetizer. I love fried green tomatoes, but have never tried the fried pickled tomatoes. They were cut into strips & fried to perfection, served with a dipping sauce that was good. I then had the fried shrimp which were perfectly cooked & tasty. I had the side of Cajun cabbage, I'm Cajun and this dish was not good for my tastebuds. The GM, was very personable, the servers were good. I came from out of town and decided to stop by this restaurant for lunch. Overall, we had a great dining experience. The sweet tea was really good and they kept it coming! Our food didn't take too long and came out really hot and fresh. I really enjoyed the taste of the catfish and the greens. The buffalo shrimp was a little salty, but overall had great flavor. I have been to two different Soul Fish Cafes. The one in Cordova near Olive Garden on Hwy. 64 is the best. Servings are fair and nice size. The food is excellent. The Soul Fish in Germantown is not as good as the other one. The servings are extremely small and not worth the money charged for the food. I will not return to it again. :-( read more

Yeah this is some good stuff!! Sat at the bar on a weekend cause it was packed, lots of people coming in consistently for pickup orders too so this place feels loved. A few days ago, I joined a few family members here for an early lunch. We were quite early and we arrive 30 minutes before opening time. LOL. They opened the doors precisely on time and our party of 7 seated right away. We all got our orders in. Our server seemed to be a little bit confused about what some of us for while she was taking orders. In the end, I think that we all pretty much received the correct orders, which was good. I decided to go with a bunless burger, cucumber salad, unsweetened tea and split an orde of a dozen fries oysters with a family member. I was surprised that the cucumber salad was just a bowl of cucumbers...not sure what they were brined in but not bad. Overall, I was satisfied with my food. The food was really good and the staff was friendly and attentive. As for the food, we started out with the catfish bites. They were super crispy, flavorful, and filling. We had a great time checking out Soul Fish! Next time I will make sure to order my dressing on the side because the over abundance of dressing was sadly so off-putting for me. The salmon, however, was blackened and DELICIOUS. I would be happy to get that (with said modifications) every time I visit. My husband loved his mahi sandwich as well! The French fries were delicious! We liked the fried pickle but not as much as other places. The breading was a little much with such thinly sliced pickles.
