It's not often that you get up the next day and begin the day's discussion with how awesome the previous day's dinner. But that's what happened today. Yesterday's dinner at Shallotte's Chili's was excellent. Half rack of honey chipotle ribs, corn on the cob, loaded mashed potatoes, and everything cooked to perfection. My sweetheart had honey chipotle chicken crispers with the same sides. Everything was excellent. We live here and dine out often. Never a bad experience here in 4 years of dining here. It was "all hands-on deck" last Friday night at Chili's restaurant in Shallotte, North Carolina. It was the first night of dine-in service since the coronavirus stay-at -home measures were put into effect. Every member of the Chili's team was doing all that they could to make it a safe and unforgettable experience. Cleanliness was the order of the day, and as soon as customers left their table, the table and chairs were thoroughly sanitized. The Manager and the wait staff worked together to provide a safe and pleasant environment for patrons, who were more that glad to be out and about. It was the food that made the night great. Oh, sure it was the same food I had enjoyed in the past, but now it seemed more like comfort food and it gave me the feeling of being back to normal. There was a sense of unity that I was unaware of in the past. Most of the other people dining out that night were strangers but the staff at Chili's provided an atmosphere for all of us to come together as a community. And while Shallotte is a small town, it is still, our little corner of America. read more

Best Chili's I have ever experienced. We were staying at Holden Beach and wanted something more familiar for dinner. The staff works extremely hard, but they do not interrupt the meal in doing so. The food is always excellent, and difficult or unusual changes requested to the food are paid close attention. Friendly hosts, managers, and wait staff. Not too far from Holden. Highly reccomend. Never came here and had a bad time, food is very reasonably priced and always made very tasteful. Waitress and waiters are super friendly and it's a great place to take kids as they can play games on the tablets. I recently ordered food from Chili's using Doordash. I ordered a Cesar salad for my husband that consisted of 10 pieces of lettuce with a couple of croutons thrown in. For myself I ordered chicken fajitas with guacamole and sour cream, which were extra of course. I didn't get the sour cream Or the guacamole. I also didn't get any tortillas. I tried calling them for several hours and only got a busy signal. Needless to say, that is the last time I'll be ordering anything from chili's. 0 stars. read more

Have been here several times.... tonight however was a horrible experience. We were seated for more than 10 min no acknowledgement from our waitress... when we asked who was covering our table we were met with an attitude from a waitress who then proceeded to give a nasty response telling us we had not been seated for 10 min or more and walked off ... reported to the manager who attempted to rectify and offered us to move to the bar area which I did not want to do having children in our party.... very disappointed as my mom has a vacation home nearby and we frequent this Chili's often... doubt we will go back. I love chilli's even though most of their menu is high In fat I like how they have a low calorie menu and it's very filling and flavorful.I had the chipotle mango habenero tiliapa with rice and broccoli .it was like 590 calories and was delicious .portion is decent only thing it's a bit on the spicy side so if you don't like spicy it's not for you they have a couple dishes and low calorie apps .I've only tried the salmon before at a different chilli s and it was yummy.now if I want something for a treat I do the chicken crispers with fries and corn on the cob it's delicious but my tummy don't like it so I don't do that much .they also have good Mexican food my bf had the potato soup which he says is delicious and quesadillas which I tried yummy.I have had a Mexican dish in the past delicious.let me say they have an extensive menu now do family meals and I like how the list the calories on each dish .fresh hot and delicious would recommend. read more

Went last Sunday with girlfriend, she ordered a steak Rare, it came over cooked, sent back and new steak was about right. I ordered ribs and they were dry they were hard to eat, usually Chili's is better than that. read more

A very good Chili's compared to others I have eaten at. The bar had a good mix of tourists (like myself) and locals. The service was very good. Interesting/oddly enough the night we were there a girl came in for her wedding dinner after just getting married. She was still in her wedding gown. Odd to say the least. read more

It was busy (7pm on a Saturday during holiday weekend) and our waitress was obviously stressed (a bit rude but I felt more sympathy because it was extremely busy with people everywhere and she stayed on top of it with our drinks, desserts, and dinners), but our party of 6 all enjoyed the food with a reasonable wait time. Pros: very good food. Awesome Premium El Presidentiale Margaritas. Cons: small crowded tables, locked unusable toilet stall, didn't know if was because it was pranked by a kid. An easy view of kitchen on the way back from the restroom & saw a very dirty messy kitchen. Even if that's normal, sadly it shdnt be seen easily by customers. The main seating area had quite a few ugly dust bunnies hanging above ur head, looks there just waiting for the right opportunity to fall into your food. Sadly I like chili's enough that I probably will go again. I guess the management can rest on their laurels and not change diddley squat. Number one, if you find yourself trapped in this awful town, you have my condolences. I went there from Ocean Isle Beach on a rainy day, looking for something to do. A group of us (6 people) stopped here for lunch. I always consider Chili's a viable option, no matter where I am. They usually do a great job, and the menu is decent. This Chili's was the worst ever. The service was horribly slow. We had two kids in our group; one ordered chocolate milk. The server said that they ran out. Twenty minutes later, a different server put a huge glass of chocolate milk in front of a kid at the next table. My girlfriend ordered the California chicken sandwich, which means avocado (not sure why California = avocado in redneck states). The sandwich showed up after 30 minutes with brown avocado all over it. I called the manager over, who replaced it with fresh avocado, and said "we should have put that brown one in the guacamole". Really?! Avoid this place at all costs. Any other restaurant will be better than this one. read more

While the service was good, and the order correct, the onion rings were terrible. They tasted like they had soaked in burnt oil before frying too long. The ribeye steak had good flavor, but I had to dig and search for the meat around all the fat and gristle...the skillet mashed potatoes, however, were flawless...I will not be back. read more

One Sunday afternoon we tried to catch a "quick bite" with some friends. Service was SLOW and the waitress was incompetent. After the ridiculous wait for the food, mine was cold and my 3-year-old's pizza was burnt to the point they shouldn't have served it - but they did! Decided to treat myself out for my birthday (10/24), along with my daughter. The hostess seated us rather quickly. The waitress came over and took our drink order. She returned, shortly after with our drinks and we placed our food order. The waitress brought out our food, left and did not return to our table until I began paying my bill. Meanwhile, she walked past us several times, not stopping to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Nor did either manager/ other wait staff check in on us. My friend and I went for dinner 4th of July around 7 pm and we got a booth in the bar area and we didn't have to wait. The waitress was Awesome and on top of everything. She suggested a drink for the holiday called a firecracker margarita which was frozen so we both got one of those. It was good but I don't think it had any alcohol in it plus we didn't see the bartender put any in when he made one unless and it tasted like ALOT of sour mix. Then we ordered a long island iced tea each and same thing...tasted like sour mix, looked like it was separated by only 2 ingredients in the glass and no alcohol. I was going to say something but my friend didn't want me to. He said he didn't think it was the bartenders fault and it was probably the owner telling him to do that so what would be the point. But if that's the case then why would he jeopardize losing business over that because now I won't be returning there anymore. And I always got the triple Dipper which is very good so that's why I always get it. My friend got the salmon and it was a very little quantity and he said it was over cooked and it needed salt or something. I tasted it and it was just okay nothing special, I wouldn't order it. When I got home I ate one of the sliders I had gotten and it was still warm no need to reheat and it was AWESOME!! My dog even had some of the burger and he is picky about what he will eat. Place was busy but only one couple waiting. Hostess says 15 minutes. Couple of open tables around so we figure once they're cleared, we'll be seated. Group of five comes in and is seated immediately. They clearly knew the staff, so ok, no big deal. Couple with a kid come in and are seated. We're still waiting. I ask the hostess what's up with this? She says they were a larger group. I say "so because we're just two, you leave open tables and we have to wait?" She says yes. I say "no we don't" and we walk out. Won't be back. This has been the worst experience ever. We waited for our food for over an hour. Had to ask about it. Finally got it. The chicken was a tiny thin strip. Both steaks were ordered medium and were well done. They sent the steaks back. Got them a second time and were still well done. Should have not accepted them, but told them to bring A1. Everything is better with A1. Our waiter was more interested in flirting with the bartender than serving his tables. We talked to the manager and all she had to say was "sorry". I meant to write this as soon as I got home last night, but my age is showing and I forgot. So, here it is. I would have given five stars, but the beverage I ordered was the one they were out of--lemonade. Normally, it wouldn't even be a big deal, but I had a migraine and was trying to avoid caffeine. And the only carbonated beverages I drink are colas, and grape or orange soda. I don't drink alcohol, so that was never a contender. Their tea has been subpar lately so I wound up drinking Coca-Cola. My daughter had Dr. Pepper and my husband had Coke Zero and our server managed to keep them straight when serving them. I thought that was impressive. We all pretty much ordered the usual and the food was excellent as usual. What prompted me to write on this particular occasion was our server, Brad. He was excellent. He had a pleasant personality. He kept the glasses filled. I can't think of a better server we have ever had at this location. I just can't say enough good things about how great a job he did. The only drawback to Brad (and this has absolutely nothing to do with his job) is that he and I are at the opposite ends of the spectrum with the college teams that we like.
