It was happy hour when I arrived at 5:00 pm. I asked for the specific happy hour wine. The nice bartender checked and said that they were out. She kindly asked the manager if she could substitute something similar. I could hear the conversation. The manager told her that I could only have 2 glasses of the substituted wine. It is not the customers fault that you don't have what is advertised. It was appropriate that something else was offered, but the fact that I heard her say that I could have only 2 of these drinks was not appropriate. I was only planning on having one anyway. I told the bar tender never mind. I would have ordered dinner. They just lost a $30-$40 exchange because the manager felt like she had to exercise her authority. Hit it at a busy time on a Tuesday night (about 7pm) and after a short (5-10 min) wait was seated outdoors on the patio. My servers name was Katelyn and she met me at the table after only a couple of minutes. Katelyn was all smiles, very friendly and stayed attentive during my time there. I ordered a bacon burger and iced tea. Food came very quickly, was hot and well prepared. Delicious and perfect for what I was looking for. I'm generally a fan of Chili's because of their consistent quality of food. For me, it's the servers that determine if I come back, and Katelyn was top notch. My husband and I came here because our original pizza plan for Zoner's fell through. We got seated right away at 7pm on a Saturday. It's fairly busy but not overly loud which is fantastic. Got our drink order taken right away and promptly received them. Decided to order the 2 for $25 which includes an app to share, two meals, and a dessert to share. Took awhile to get our app, but once we got it, it was great. The main course was not great however the waitress knew I didn't like the taste and offered to swap out my chicken which was extremely nice. I asked for them to be cooked well done just because we've had this issue before. And when getting the bill she still charged me. Was very passive aggressive. She really didn't care about our experience being pleasant. Our waitress was great and understanding. The manager Autumn should have just apologized for the inconvenience, but to argue with a customer and tell them the chicken is cooked when their telling you it's not. I come here every so often when I'm in town; now that I've relocated it could be more often. I was a little disappointed. I usually sit at the bar, although when I come in with my kids I'll sit at a table. I usually get the President margarita; I thought it was a bit weak this time. And the Country Fried Steak was basically just batter, and not much meat. I mean, I don't expect a Sirloin, but it was not a good cut of meat. Everything else was fine, including service. I did not see the Monterey Chicken on the menu; I might have missed it. And their "combo" dishes used to be a better selection (that's a smaller portion of two entrees with sides). And I really can't say much about the self-serve entertainment and pay stations at each table. It takes away from the personal service, i.e. the gratitude a server should express when handing you the check. Not to mention it's another money-grubbing way to get customers to pay money for entertainment instead of actually interacting with whoever they're sitting with. A terrible idea. Worst experience ever !! server was nice, but the general manager was very rude to me. I asked for a ribeye medium rare, and my steak came out medium to medium well. I asked for a recook on the steak. when I received the new steak it looked well done. when I told the general manager about how the steak was not right she had an attitude aswell as roll her eyes. I was so angry I wanted to call copperate, but I was told the resturant is a franchise and not a cooperation. This is truly the worst restaurant experience I've had in Statesboro. We got there before the lunch rush and the restaurant was less than half full. Nevertheless, it took longer than 30 minutes to prepare our food. The waitress didn't ask what we needed, took a long time to refill drinks and seemed to be avoiding us, honestly. When we asked for our food, she said there were 3 of the 4 plates ready & I asked her to bring them. She didn't asked if we needed straws or napkins or silverware nor did she bring them. When she brought my food, the vegetables were moldy and the meat was raw in the middle. At this point, we had been there 45 minutes so I just asked them to take it off of the check. No lunch for me. I went to chili's in Statesboro yesterday (3/31/23). By far one of the worst experiences I've ever had at chili's. I've lived in Statesboro three years and the first time my friends and I go there's a problem and it's hard not to make it a racial thing. We came in around 6:35 for their happy hour and new margaritas. Well they've recently changed their policy and only certain sections are where happy hour is available (were we informed of this? No) we were placed in a section where we could barely hear our waitress because she was whispering. We order our second margaritas at 6:58 (to beat happy hour, right?!) So we look at our checks at realize we haven't been getting happy hour nothing. So I asked our waitress and the section we are in does not do happy hour. I asked for the manager, and I stated that that was information that should be displayed or told to anyone dining in and evidently drinking. She told me, "great communication first off" and you are right, I'll make sure my team is on that." No resolution for this inconvenience. So we called her back and I asked if there was anything she could do because this is my first time here so that policy change wouldn't have been something I knew anyway. She said, "first of all, those drinks aren't even included on happy hour." I stopped her and stated that that had been another question I asked our server and got no equal response like that so again miscommunication & bs. She then went on to say that the change has been regularly communicated but tonight there was a miss and she would get on that. Quiet frankly it seemed like there was a direct miscommunication with us, four black individuals, who were the only black people in the section and the only ones even drinking. So where she could have been more polite/professional she decided to be rude and insulting. We were completing our review via our kiosk on the table and as my friend was completing hers and they kept watching us, they turned off the review so she was not able to submit hers. After one of the graduations at gsu we came by here with a large party, one that filled four large tables. We were in a good mood, we were all hungry, and I think it was everyone's first visit here. The wait staff took forever to take our orders, and getting us our drinks seemed to be more than they could handle. The food...well, let's just say it was long coming, and when it came there were many problems. Once the problems with the orders were sorted out, I don't believe a single person thought their food was more than adequate, and many were displeased. Seriously screwed up--health department needs to close them down. Saturday June 8th around 2pm the condensation from their air conditioning units was dripping so profusely they had nobody seated in two full rows of tables beneath them. Unfortunately it was also dripping in the isles and the waitresses were carrying trays THROUGH the dripping isles so many people were likely to have condensation drip onto the trays of food being carried down the isles. The row of tables directly across the isle from the row of tables that were covered in water (condensation drippings) were open with customers seated. I saw one waitress actually set the tray of food she was serving people in that row ONTO THE CLOSED CONDENSATION SOAKED TABLE: Meaning the four plates of food on the tray sat there where the dripping was the most heavy while she removed each plate one at a time to set before each of the four customers being served. I'm sure that very large serving tray full of the food of four customers received at least one nice big fat drop of condensation into one of those four guy's food! As we were also seated in that row two tables down from the four guys we decided to leave the restaurant. The guys were young and talking and laughing and seemed none the wiser. I hope nobody got sick, and if they did the manager was fully aware of the issue because nobody was seated in those two rows and the waitresses looked really angry; we assumed because they had to walk through the dripping condensation! read more
