Statesboro doesn't seem to have a ton of Asian restaurants, but Coconut Thai Cuisine is pretty solid! - Fried Tofu: Tofu was crispy on the outside & soft on the inside, but could use more seasoning - Pad See Ewe Noodles with Chicken: Flavorful & large portion, but would have appreciated more broccoli - Pineapple Fried Rice Meat Combo: Nice presentation, very flavorful - Siam Chicken: Chicken was crispy & tender, appreciated all the accompanying veggies & cashews - Spicy Basil Fried Rice with Minced Chicken: Very tasty with nice level of spice, but rice was a tiny bit overcooked Service was friendly and fast. Ambiance is great. 8.5/10 would recommend when you're in the area!

This place is just okay. You can tell it was probably once the place to, now it's just average Thai food. The spring rolls were a little too sticky to each other. I know this tends to happen with spring rolls wraps, but something was a bit off. They were falling apart as I tired to get individual rolls. The pad Thai had a bit too much tamarind sauce in it. It overpowered the dish. The seafood pieces were good though. Service was nice, and they seem to have cool drink specials. Didn't try them though. They have a nice lunch menu as well.

Dirt (food) on the outside cup.

I walked in the door, wasn't in my seat yet, and they wanted my drink menu. I had not even seen a menu. I picked up the menu and it was NASTY! Sticky with food and stickiness all over it. I asked for hot tea. I had to tell the server everything I needed for it that should've been brought with it. Spoon, Splenda, Creamer, and a clean mug. All items were different trips to the back. Then the new cup of tea had the tea bag in from the last cup! I asked if it was clean and she assured me it was. IT WASN'T! The ONLY bright side was they had a clean bathroom! DO NOT GO THERE. We will not be back either!

I had a wonderful time at Coconut Thai, I was feeling under the weather and was looking for a good soup with beef. It is a family owned business and so it felt like I was right at home. Going to be coming back!

Came here after an all day school tour at Georgia Southern University- The place had great reviews so we checked it out very small quaint place but the service was great and the food was yummy. The decor of the place was very gallery like with different form of art throughout the walls. Back to the food there were four of us so we tried different dishes. I had the pineapple fried rice with chicken it was good and presented inside of an actual pineapple. The other dish was pad Thai with shrimp and it was good without the peanuts due to a peanut allergy. Another dish was masamon chicken curry which the hubby throughly enjoyed. The last dish was crispy fried beef. It was very tasty as well. For apps we had the dumplings and friend coconut shrimp. Overall the food was delicious and when in Statesboro you should give them a try.

Excellent Thai curry. Talked to the owner at length and she was very friendly. The atmosphere is small but well kept.

Clawdia sat at the table and the server found her a banana, her favorite treat, after the long car ride. As far as the humans go, we all enjoyed our meals as well. They have a good lunch menu and prices were reasonable for other items as well. I enjoyed the popcorn shrimp while my daughter raved about the shrimp and grits. My wife also enjoyed the mahi sandwich. Service was fast and friendly despite a large lunch crowd. We ate on the porch since it was a nice day. I never went inside the main building, but we did note that they have a lot of activities like trivia night, etc.

Definitely probably one of the better restaurants in the area though. The Diet Coke was really good. The fried okra was not. Well priced for the food. The restaurant lives up to its name as there are a lot of gnats. Once the staff turned the fans on it was not as bad. My chicken parm sandwich was good, but probably wouldn't order it again and would stick with more classic options. Good casual place in the area though that does the trick for a good price.

We promptly got sat by the lovely staff working. We sat outside, I ordered an Aperol spritz and my husband got a Bloody Mary. All of our drinks were delicious, reasonably priced. The Bloody Mary wasn't spicy (although a table next to us was complaining it was...), and the Hugo spritz was SO refreshing! They for the fresh mint from their herbs out front! Only complaint was we prefer our espresso martinis to be mostly espresso heavy, and this one was more cream heavy. We ordered the Brussels, country breakfast (subbed cheese grits instead of pancakes because we're gluten free) and got a side of fresh fruit. It was so much food. We didn't finish it all! The grits were nicely seasoned and cheesy. Brussels were super crispy and not drenched in grease or sauce. Eggs were nice and salty, potatoes were fried nicely. Everything was great. We would love to come back for lunch or dinner - especially happy hour. It wasn't too loud and we felt there was plenty of seating.

This is the best restaurant I've been to in Statesboro yet. Here's what my wife and I had: * Mixed Chicken and Steak Lunch Fajitas Over Rice ($11.25) - cooked with bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes, and topped with cheese dip * Lunch Combo Special No. 1 ($9.25) - one chile relleno, one taco, beans and guacamole salad * Guacamole Dip - Small ($4.65) Everything was delicious. This is your standard Americanized Mexican restaurant, complete with complimentary chips and salsa (side note: the chips here are of the thicker, harder, and crunchier variety). I would say this place does the Americanized Mexican restaurant concept well and operates like a well-oiled machine (in business since 1989). Our entrees came out fresh and tasty, but the Guacamole Dip was a bit underwhelming. It looked and tasted like it had been sitting out a while. It was discolored whereas the guac that came with the lunch combo was fresh and vibrant. Service was good. We visited on a Friday for lunch and it was nice and busy, though not absolutely packed. Lots of families. This location on Buckhead Drive is the third and newest of the three "El Som" locations in Statesboro, having opened in 2008. It's relatively nice and known as the "Palace." The original location opened on Fair Road in 1989 and the second location opened in the Publix shopping center on Northside Drive circa 1993-1994.
