Seriously screwed up--health department needs to close them down. Saturday June 8th around 2pm the condensation from their air conditioning units was dripping so profusely they had nobody seated in two full rows of tables beneath them. Unfortunately it was also dripping in the isles and the waitresses were carrying trays THROUGH the dripping isles so many people were likely to have condensation drip onto the trays of food being carried down the isles. The row of tables directly across the isle from the row of tables that were covered in water (condensation drippings) were open with customers seated. I saw one waitress actually set the tray of food she was serving people in that row ONTO THE CLOSED CONDENSATION SOAKED TABLE: Meaning the four plates of food on the tray sat there where the dripping was the most heavy while she removed each plate one at a time to set before each of the four customers being served. I'm sure that very large serving tray full of the food of four customers received at least one nice big fat drop of condensation into one of those four guy's food! As we were also seated in that row two tables down from the four guys we decided to leave the restaurant. The guys were young and talking and laughing and seemed none the wiser. I hope nobody got sick, and if they did the manager was fully aware of the issue because nobody was seated in those two rows and the waitresses looked really angry; we assumed because they had to walk through the dripping condensation! read more

We were seated quickly. Our server was very attentive. He brought the appetizer and gave time between it, the salads and the entree. The spicy shrimp tacos were excellent! The queso was the only item that was not very good. The burger was very good. And the salads were fresh. read more

I came for lunch and it took forever for someone to take my order, no one came to refresh my beverage, I had to ask for silverware, it took forever to get my food which by the way was just a salad, and the salad didn't have any salad dressing on it! We were told that we would be next in line and to wait in our car and they would text us. Well after 25 minutes I checked the waiting status and it said to go in at 5:49. We actually walked back up at 5:55 and told us the same thing to wait in our car and we were next. Although while standing there three different couples walked in, they were asked how many and all of them said 2 and they were seated right away. And this happened within 15 minutes of the time we were told to check in. And while we were standing there trying to get out to go wait in the car again. Was this during COVID? Yes. Do I also work in the restaurant industry and fully understand what is capable of a restaurant staff during this trying time? Yes I do. First of all 4/5ths of the seating in this restaurant was closed down for a reason that was not revealed EVER, even after multiple questions the only answer we received was "our dining room is closed tonight". There were 4 open tables. A wait time of over an hour. Now the wait time is fine, sometimes restaurants have wait times however explanation needs to be given as to why, not just "my manager said so". Next when we were finally seated, our food was not hot or fresh it was old. Eggrolls were room temp, the cheese on the cheese fries had hardened it had been out for so long. Now let us take a moment to look back at the beginning of this review where I said "only 4 tables were available" how can you have only 4 tables seated and not serve hot food!? Next we were served our entrees (also not hot) and ordered dessert because we did the $25 for 2 and lo and behold the SKILLET COOKIE was not hot. We got it to go though and while we flagged down the waitress for a legitimate 15 minutes she was shooting the breeze with another table while our ice cream melted in its to go cup. And to top the night off as we were leaving.... there was a table, seated in the "closed dinning room" getting served. Take from this what you will but I would strongly advise you to not step near this restaurant during COVID as their management quite literally has no idea what is going on. read more

I feel as if I have given this place a fair shake but it is not worth it. 1. If you have kids DO NOT let them touch the counsel, they play a game and are not told they that the game is .99 cents. 2. The staff will smile and tell you sure you can substitute an item for different one....and you ask 3 times to clarify....they still bring it out wrong....then charge you for the substitution as an ad-on. 3. The food tastes like it comes straight out of a bag or was heated up in a microwave. To me it is just not worth it. We work too hard for our for what we have to waste on a place like this. Waited an hour for two bowls of cold soup, two hot, wilted house salads and over cooked fajitas. I could understand if the restaurant was packed, but it wasn't. I don't know who was at fault. The food here is what you would expect from a typical restaurant of this variety. They run franchise-wide specials like 2 for $20, which is nice for the college area. I drive a school bus, and recently took a very large group of about 30 people to this location. The staff was amazing and very accommodating of our large group. They gave me a discount as the bus driver and were extremely friendly and helpful. I WILL be taking groups there again and I WILL be recommending this location to other bus drivers within the area. I went there yesterday for dinner. The entire restaurant was closed off except for the bar area and outdoors which I get during this covid era we are living in. I was told I could wait for indoors or be seated outdoors. It was 96 degrees outside so I asked to wait and be seated indoors. One of the 8 tables opened up and I asked to be seated. They (hostess and manager Kaycia) refused to seat me in the open table because they said that table was for larger parties only. So I asked if there was anyone else waiting and the answer was no. I don't feel it's right when you already have limited seating that you should be able to hold seats for people that "may" come in. All I wanted was to sit down at the end of a hard days work being outside and sit in the air condoning and enjoy a nice meal. Tables should be first come first served unless you have reservation systems in place, which they don't. I have eaten at this location very often and spent hundreds of dollars there. Refused being served isn't a way to make your paying customer feel wanted and appreciated. I won't be back to a place that refuses to serve people when tables are available. I tried calling manager Jamal Tillman as well but his voice mail was either full or not setup so I couldn't discuss with him either. There are better local businesses to support with better service.....I'll be frequenting them instead. read more

The last time I went the salsa was cheap and you could tell they ran out and got it from Walmart but other than that the food was good. Figured I'd try it again but this time the salsa was inconsistent with the usual salsa you get from chili's. I based my review on cleanliness and food.. This Chili's was very clean, the food was great! We are from out of town and enjoy Chili's since there aren't any where we live and some can be sketchy but not this one. Staff was very friendly and attentive. Fried pickles are very garlicky, which I enjoyed :) bacon ranch quesadillas are wonderful. Hubby got the loaded boneless chicken wings which he said was packed with flavor. Terrible service. Server acted as though we were a bother to her. Food was so so. My guest had the Chicken Quesadilla. I ordered the half rack of rib with original barbecue on the side with steamed broccoli. First the broccoli was rubbery at best. Over cooked in my opinion. Barbecue sauce was super spicy. Not the original that I always get. Asked server to get the original sauce pls. She comes back with that's all we have. Ribs were basically bone hardly any meat on them. While my husband was still eating server comes to table asks if we were ready for the bill. I told her no he was still eating. She could not even be bothered to refill my ice tea. My party of three dined at this restaurant late on a Saturday Evening. We arrived at 9:05 pm. they were open until 11pm. They had some business but not enough be overwhelming. They had plenty of staff on duty. Were seated promptly and then ignored. Twenty minutes later a server not assigned our table took our drink order (two cocktails and one glass of water) Ten minutes later the cocktails arrived but still no water. Manager on duty came by and asked what I was drinking and I told her I asked for water some time ago. She apologized and took care of it. Our server took our order and when it arrived the steak I ordered was so salty I could not eat it. Sent it back and ordered a burger with no bun and steamed broccoli. Burger came with a bun. I had dinner at this location and the waitress was great. My friend shared her wings with me and I noticed that I was eating a wing that was gooey, soft, and pink inside. The night manager was a bit different when discussing the rare/raw hot wings they served. At this point, the experience was ruined. The manager informed me and my guest that wings are categorized as dark meat and when you cook wings the right way the meat will be pink inside. When I complained about the multiple shortcomings, the staff reacted very defensively and unprofessional. I don't recommend this location to anyone. You can walk outside and throw a rock in any direction and hit a Chili's restaurant. They are far from uncommon as you see them conveniently located outside of outlets, shopping malls, movie theaters and other popular attractions. There is quite a bit that can be said about Chili's. Whether it be their many different choices for different lifestyles or their ever-growing Tex-Mex style menu with new additions like the Crispy Cheddar Bites, the latter of which I braved to taste for myself. The dish, by name, might not sound like a difficult thing to make, but I assure you it takes a watchful eye. Just a few seconds too long in the fryer could mean the difference between crunchy flavorful bites of golden brown crusted cheese or saturated, dark brown salt nuggets. When I saw them as an option to add to my favorite trio sampler meal at the Chili's on Commerce Dr. I had to try them for myself. The sampler was as good as any other time. The Honey Chipotle Chicken was tender and tangy, the Southwestern Eggrolls were savory and well-seasoned, and Crispy Cheddar Bites were as the name implies: crispy and flavorful - for the most part. Chili's was founded in 1975 by Larry Levine in Dallas Texas. The company is international, currently operating in over 30 countries worldwide. They serve something for everyone from the classic veggie burger to enchiladas to salads and much more. Unfortunately, that is also where it falls in line with its competitors. Customer loyalty is an issue for these types of restaurants. The fact that you could go to almost any other restaurant of the same type and get practically the same meal is discerning to franchise owners. Another problem you might run into with these 'run of the mill' chain restaurants is consistency. You may go into the same Chili's every week and you would probably taste little difference, but, say you went to the other Chili's up the street, it is almost guaranteed that your food experience won't be the same. Even if you were to go to the same Chili's all the time there is a great chance that you may go on an off night where the food just isn't hitting the mark. The problem I personally faced was maybe understandable. The Crispy Cheddars Bites were subpar to say the best. Maybe it was because it was a new menu item and the chef just wasn't well acquainted with it. Either way they were not great by any means. They were left in the fryer too long and had become salty grease sponges. They were heavily saturated in grease and hard fried. They were so salty I had gone through two cups of water while eating a few, waiting for them to start to taste good. While they had missed with the Cheddar Bites, the overall ambiance of the restaurant, I feel, was spot on with the crowd they were entertaining. The walls are covered with anything from fan drawings and old company logos to music memorabilia. There is even a giant chili pepper hang overhead when you walk into to the dining area. The bar is also justly decorated with similar types of things but, also with the typical bar look; Lots of different bottles placed about, TVs and sports decorations. The interior of most Chili's restaurants are the same, but that varies depending on the age of that particular location. Usually the nearest Chili's and the next closest one will look the same on the inside. As with most casual family dining restaurants, I did not expect spectacular service but I was pleasantly surprised by how attentive and speedy my waiter was. She made sure that my cup was never empty and that I was enjoying my dinner. She did so at polite intervals as to not become an annoyance. I was also very pleased with the speed my food was prepared. All things considered, I enjoyed my visit and would more than likely return to this location and even recommend it to others. read more

The staff here is GREAT!! And normally, this is one of the few restaurants we eat at in Statesboro because the other chains think that because they are small town that they don't have to be "up to par." I had an experience at Chilis 3 years ago in which they forgot my order and then brought it out bloody because they cooked it on the fly. I was not impressed but they took it back to cook it and it was fine after that. I just dont like sending stuff back. We went back a few months later because 1) I like Chilis and 2) we don't have a lot of choices. It's been wonderful for the last 3 years. Last night was not cool. I ordered chicken fajitas for $12.49 and got 6 little strips of chicken the size of my ring finger. Normally, I get enough meat to take home. The edges of my tortillas were cripsy and I had to tear it off, and the plate that my condiments came on was DIRTY!!! Like, the food from the meal before was all over the bottom of it and it was all crusty and sticky all around the edges and you could see where someone had taken a rag and wiped the top of the plate so it looked "clean" when they brought it out. Again, the staff is great but I wasn't in the mood to say anything after a long week out of town. I just wanted to go home. And the next time I feel like fajitas, I will make them at home. read more
